Whilst at ATS today the guy there showed me that all new tyres are now coming in with/have have a removeable sticky label, like the tyre size label, on them giving their rating, for dry grip, wet grip and noise level

Ratings A to D for the grip, (bit like the one you get stuck to your new fridge or washing machine for efficiency).
and db for noise level.

So you can see at an instance when buying them how good a tyre is in the dry or wet and how noisy it will be in use.

Quite useful I thought??

Now, that will be interesting to see....

And here's a useful link:

All we have to hope for is that the official test procedures are more reliable and representative than those used to measure fuel consumption and CO2 output in new cars.

That's awesome.. Never realised tyres have so much between them for fuel consumption.. 7.5%! Im going to assume mini tyres are on the more fuel inefficient side of the scale?

Well I would think they would always do the tests so that they show more in their favour than not, I dont think we will see them putting stickers on saying this is the worst tyre we do. Unfortunately.
