There will be a lunch run to Tortilla Flats, AZ on Feb. 1st. Glen Swensen from Miata club is organizing this run. He has invited all MINI owners to participate. The run is only about 18 miles in length, but it is a true MINI/Miata road, ups and downs and lots of twisties. It's on a Saturday and we will all meet at the Mobil service station on Idaho Rd. just north of the US 60 in Apache Junction at 10:30 AM and leave by 11:00 AM. This road and the weather should provide excellant photo opportunities.

The following was just emailed to me this afternoon from Glen.

Due to the huge response to this event (we will have nearly 50 cars) a few changes had to be made. We cannot meet at the Mobile Gas Station as planned, (too many cars) so we will meet at a small strip center just down the street. From highway 60, go north on Idaho Rd. (Rt 88) 1.2 miles. The strip center will be on the right. a few cars will be there early to watch for you.
Meet time will be :10:30 AM and we will leave at 11:15 AM. Also the Restaurant at Tortilla Flats cannot handle that much traffic so lunch will be at the Canyon Lake Restaurant 2.4 miles before Tortilla Flats.
Those who would like to drive the short distance to the Flats to check it out are free to do so.
Maps will be provided but if you continue north and east on Rt#88, it will take you to the lake.
