Please do apologise to your photographer for me. Apperently he wanted to take a shot of my filthy rear end...

Surely that wouldn't be published in a respectable magazine like MiniMag?!

Crikey no - I’m hoping our snapper wanted that one for his ‘private’ collection!

Thanks to everyone for a great day. It was good to meet you all.

MCS is still dirty, but it looks like it done some serious motoring.

Pleased to report Cathy's heel has been stuck back on after trying to break the ice up in Group 1.

Looking forward to the next event.

I think Kathy deserves a medal for spending the remainder of the day hobbling around after her sterling efforts to make the road safe for all the Mini's behind.

Well done Nicaf on taking over the lead (like you had much of a choice :D )when I got penned in by Mr Tractor man.

Thanks Martin/Soggy/DK et al for organising this - it was a real hoot.

DK - thanks fot the fluffy apple - it kept a bit of me warm :D

An excellent day - a big thank you to all who were involved in the organisation. When's the next one?

Whoever did the pace notes, you must learn the difference between a t-junction and a roundabout. And not to advise people to go straight over when they cant!

We didn't find any problems with the route (apart from the Road Closed, where we just nipped down the main road and joined back on the route later on.)

I know from personal experience of both trying to plan routes for runs like this and trying to navigate them just how hard it is for the route planner. They know exactly where they want you to go, but the navigator reads it differently and sometimes gets it wrong, or tries to make a turn before they actually get to it. E.g. "turn right at the cross roads to..." ignoring the fact that at the previous junction (not a cross roads) the same place was signposted. This just added to the fun as some went one way and some the other and we all met up at the next junction.

As probably one of only a handful on the run who owns a "real" Mini as well as a "new" MINI I was suprised to see MiniMag covering it as it's bound to cause a bit of upset amongst their more traditional readers.

It would be nice if it also encourages more to be like yourself and just apprecaite the new MINI as a nice car. Personally I think it would be great if the classic Minis joined us on some of these runs to, just my view though I'm sure others agree and disagree. Hopefully the feature in MiniMag may encourage it in the future.

And thanks for the good feedback

I should also have said that I was pleased to see MiniMag there - the sooner this old v. new things dries up the better!

The old v new argument will slowly dwindle as more Mini owners test-drive the MINI:D :D :red:

Posted my thanks on the photos page before I came across this thread, but I'd like to repeat my thanks to all who organised it. Terrific weekend out, enjoyed every minute of it. Also it was great to meet some of you and put faces to names.
David and Joel loved it too.
Will be checking my work diary so we can get to some more runs this year.

I've replied to the other Chilten's run thread, but thought I'd do the same for this one too.
It's Thursday night - my car's still filthy, and I've got a brand new Cooper S to play with all weekend! Wish I'd had it last weekend though - now that would have been a road test!
A top weekend, now how do you top that?
Tim can you valet my car, pleeeasse...:silver:
