: MCC First Race: Sunday 13/04/2003 xoura Apr 7th, 2003, 03:49 AM Nobody can miss the first race of the season 2003... :) :p
Let's go to Zolder and let's support Ken and Marnix!!! :) ;) :p
Most of us will go on sunday, does anybody know how much it will cost to get inside? I saw on the website of the "MINI club van Osch" that it will cost 65€/pp only for sunday, with a vip access to the VIP lounge(breakfast, lunch, open bar...). It's a bit too expensive for me... but all depends on the price of the entry fees.
Does anybody has any info?
CU in 7 days!
:D :) :red: :yellow: :silver: :silk: :indi: :green: Morty Apr 7th, 2003, 04:53 AM I really don't know about the pricing.
As mentioned on the website of the circuit it should be 7,5 euro admittance.
Are we planning on going there one by one or are we meeting somewhere in advance and at what time?
Because I can't get online too much this week, due to my whiplash, could somebody let me know by sms/phone? And eventually pick me up? xoura Apr 7th, 2003, 01:46 PM ok for me, why not a meeting on the main place of Lummen, next to the circuit? Is there a special parking we could obtain for our MINI's? We should ask the Van Osch garage if they have an advice... :) peggy&bjorn Apr 9th, 2003, 03:02 PM whene you look at www.autosport.be you can order 2 free tickets for this weekend. Morty Apr 10th, 2003, 03:00 AM I got one from my dealer :D :D :D :D :D
but I still don't have my car back :( xoura Apr 10th, 2003, 03:03 AM I did it through the Website, It works... Morty, have you got VIP entry?
When shall you get your MINI back? Morty Apr 10th, 2003, 03:12 AM I called them today but they were still working on it.
They didn't have any idea when I would get it back. quicksilver Apr 10th, 2003, 03:15 AM Ik zal duimen dat hij op tijd klaar is.............:D
(sorry moest even in NL) :) L8APEKS Apr 10th, 2003, 04:39 AM Thanks for the support Laurent! I'll be there Friday for scrutineering, Saturday for both qualification sessions (13.05-13.30 & 16.45-17.10) and of course Sunday for both races (12.30-13.00 & 17.35-18.00). The race director is requiring all race MINIs be in the MINI paddock so it should be very easy to find all of us.
I hope to see a lot of you there on Sunday but if I seem a little nervous with my first race here in Belgium I hope you understand why ;). I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun this weekend no matter what happens.
See you in Zolder! xoura Apr 10th, 2003, 09:57 PM Originally posted by L8APEKS

I really feel sorry for Ken!
Ken, mate, all the best and don't lose your spirit because of the accident!!
You'll get your MINI fixed and it will even run better.
If we can help in any way, just let us know and we'll do our best !!!
For the rest I had a great day again.
A lot of sunshine, very nice people ;) and just "hanging around" with a great bunch.

Now, you have a few weeks to repair the car, I guess mechanicaly there is'nt so much. Then, prepare yourself for the rest of the challenge. Do not think it's finished, keep your MINI-ning!
Has Morty wrote, if you need any kind of help, we can try to do our best; you can count on us! ;) L8APEKS May 29th, 2003, 11:56 PM Its been a while since I've posted. Thanks for the well wishes after my accident at Zolder xoura & Morty. I was pretty depressed that my "racing career" here in Belgium began so miserably. Mainly I was sorry for damaging the other pilot's car (even though his damage was very small and neither of us went off the circuit after the contact).
I heard at the next race meeting (Spa 9-11/5) someone suffered the same fate as I did after tapping someone under braking. Their bonnet latch was destroyed and their bonnet flew open and smashed the windshield too! I did not attend that race as I had a prior committment in Indianapolis the same weekend. Did anybody from MINI2 go to the last race meeting and see this?
Now the series director has mandated better bonnet latches. All the pilots are required to install metal pins to secure the bonnet before the next meeting (Spa 6-9/6).
Anyway, my "Stars & Stripes" MINI is now 100% back in working order and even better with upgraded brake cooling. I have been trying to schedule training days at Spa to prepare for the next meeting but I haven't been very successful. I've only been able to manage one full day of good training (last Tuesday, 27/5) after 4 attempts.
Either way, I'll be at Spa for the next race meeting. Hopefully my lap times will get better with the final practice and hopefully I will be able to finish a race this time :). Maybe we'll see some of you there? Morty Jun 4th, 2003, 02:25 AM I'll try and get myself over there :-) xoura Jun 4th, 2003, 05:34 PM Unfortunately, I'll will not be in SPA this week-end, the reason is simple: I'm driving with my MINI on the racetrack of "Croix en terne" in France (near "LE TOUQUET")...

Nice looking circuit. I'm looking forward to exploring some new circuits throughout Europe after the race season is over (or maybe even sooner). xoura Jun 4th, 2003, 08:20 PM hi Ken :)
that's a very good idea! We are going back to Germany (Nurburgring) as soon as possible, there are MCS from the MCC witch are turning on this track, may be you can come with yours?
the Nurburgring is about 2 hours from Brussels. L8APEKS Jun 4th, 2003, 09:27 PM Laurent,
I'll be at the N'ring (first time) on Friday the 13th
I just posted in a new thread about the trip. Maybe you can make it out there then? | |
