have you looked at the sub/amp/box combos... they usually match them quite well.
Alpine is £200...
Ok... what size sub do you want? 10" or 12"... what music is being listend too or what kinda space do you want to use? There won't be too much difference in space used in single subs, but 10" would be better for punchy music (electronic stuff, dance, trance), and 12" for songs with rolling bass (hip hop).

Just a thought. Have you considered an active bass tube?
They're usually a good bet when space is a factor like it is in the MINI, and they're usually easy to remove if you need the space in the boot.
I had a Kenwood one in my Fiesta, and then my Cinquecento before it got half-inched. Sound was great. Cost about £250 at the time, though this was about 6 years ago.
It's probably the route i'll be taking with my MINI when it arrives.

I'd say 12" is your best bet then...
A bass tube is just a 'compacted sub' as it were... won't replicate the bass quite so well but will save a fair amount of space.
This should sound quite good for a low price :)

To be honest, for similar money I think you'd probably be better off getting an Infinity basslink. They go for around 200 squid. Bit more stylish than having a big box in the boot.
