: MINI Owners in Arkansas?

So, I've seen a few of you driving around central Arkansas, and the folks at Roadshow and Northpoint BMW confirm your existence, but I've yet to see real presence of any Arkansas MINI owners on the forum here or at MCO. Are any MINI owners in Arkansas interested in meeting as a group to drive this state's challenging and scenic routes? How about group attendance at the opening of "The Italian Job" over the last weekend in May? Any interest at all? Hello, hello . . ..

Someone on another board is looking for MINI owners in AK. His email is chuckd@speakeasy.net

maxxboy,

Thanks for forwarding the message, but before I e-mail him, is it Arkansas folks chuckd@speakeasy.net is looking for, or is it "AK" for Alaska MINI owners?

wdfoto,

Nice to hear from you. I formed a Yahoo discussion group <http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/MINIArk/> and a website <http://www.MINIArk.com/>, a week ago, Friday, May 2. I've also just found another Yahoo discussion group that started this week, AR Minis, at <http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/ar_minis>, if you're interested in joining up.

Hello all,
I just moved to Little Rock with my 03 MCS and I am attempting to start a club, since I couldn't find one already going. If any one is interested go to

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/ar_minis/

or email me at chuckd@speakeasy.net

I'd like to get things going and have a first meet sometime real soon. I've seen several minis around the area.

Later,
Chuck

Hey, I no longer live in Arkansas but I grew up there. Glad to know people there won't think I'm in a moon buggy when I drive back home this summer!

acetonic,

They'll know it's not a moon buggy (esp. after "The Italian Job" premieres here at the end of the month), but be prepared to spend half an hour in the parking lot of "the Walmart's" discussing and going over every aspect of your car each time you visit your neighborhood supercenter! ;)

I get that here in Delaware as well. No MINI dealers anywhere close and I see very few in the state at all. Maybe you guys will be doing something when I am down there this year. I have to drive 2hrs for MINI events now, so an extra 19 won't kill me! :)

acetonic,

When you plan your visit down this way, post on the MINIArk forum, or ChuckD's AR_Minis forum (better b/c more local members) and we'll come up with a good drive or some other local MINI meet:

P.S. The MINIArk.com website has started (slowly, as spare time allows) taking shape, including links to local, Arkansas MINI owner forums. If anyone has content or format suggestions or constructive criticism, I'd appreciate comments . . . my web-editing skills are basic and mostly self-taught.
