Don't know about Virginia, but the vast majority of Mustangs and Camaros in the Chicago area seem to be driven by women.

This fine specimen of automobile is more commonly known to transport rednecks between bars and trailer parks, often times the driver will be adorning an 80's style haircut, taper-leg extra-tight blue jeans and smoking a Marlbro Red. RE: Camaros. I remember tagging Camaros as the official car of <insert obscene negative word applied to rude, obnoxious and unpleasant drivers here>, a number of years back. Not that all camaro drivers were, but if someone was, there was a very good chance they were driving a camaro.

I suspect that one of the reason why the market for them dried up and they were discontinued was that the SUV took over the market niche of cars for <insert obscene negative word applied to rude, obnoxious and unpleasant drivers here>.

I'm reminded of something I saw returning from work one day. A young guy driving a Camaro (1999 model) weaving in and out of traffic that was running between 75 and 80 MPH in a 75 zone. He was probably going 90-95. He spots another Camaro (same year, which is two cars up from me) and decides he wants to mess with the other Camaro. The kid cuts from the right lane, hard, between the other Camaro and the car behind it (not enough space between them to do it safely) and into the left lane where he passes the other Camaro while honking. The other Camaro takes off after the kid. The kid makes a couple of other lane changes then reached an open spot in the traffic flow and started to accelerate. The second Camaro mimicked the movements perfectly and then, only then, did the second Camaro hit it's lights and reveal itself as an unmarked Colorado State Patrol pursuit car. I laughed!

Jim Ray is a legend, guys should learn that girls are impressed by a guys personality more than what kind of car he drives!! A guy driving a buttercup coloured beetle obviously has a light-hearted personality. More fun than some hard core grunting male driving a typical "guy" car anyway!!

And I'd hate to burst your bubble but a MINI is hardly a typical "BLOKEY" car.

Maybe girls choose little cars like peugot's and nissan micra because of there fuel efficiency and reliability. Smart days shopping!!!

In the UK the LAndrover Discovery, Toyota Rav4, Mitzubishi Shogun, most other small 4x4 vehicles and some big massive ones too (Exceptional for use in the city to take the kid the 1 mile to school through rush hour traffic!)

I've seen more 206CC's than I care to mention and they were all driven by women.

Sass: I can't believe women by small cars for efficiency and reliability... that's just not in a woman's volcabulary when shopping!! ;) Though I do agree that MINI and Mini's are girls cars too.

Oh yeah, a guys (or girls) personality is more often than not, portrayed by the kind of car he (or she) drives.

I pass a white and pink Suzuki driven by a blonde hairdesser every morning on the way to work.. it is truely vile! Then again some male cars are worse.. can anyone say Vectra without yawning?

MINI is a girls car...and as stated by a close friend who wears leather trousers (pants for the US) and drives a Suzuki Vitara with the bodykit and a gaypride sticker on the bumper....its a gay mans (hairdressers) car!...oh dear well at least I'm getting in touch with my feminine (sorry cant spell) side then!...mmmm....maybe a career change is in order...something involving tight clothes and girls hair (hey actually that sounds pretty good, there are men out there who pay to do stuff that has similar things involved!)

I thought of 2 other cars that seems to be driven by women only/in massive majority...the MINI and the the X5! The Volvo s60 is a major female car round by me at the moment theres 4 females in my area that I know with one!

I don't actually know any women that own the MINI but I understand some do. Maybe you have to be a guy in the US to have the balls to drive such a small car with all the SUVs on the roads out here :D

Quite different where I live Dave. I would say maybe 70% of MINIs I see are driven by women (and mostly older than me too) who never flash.

I just think, that as a single, straight male, there is a certain logic to driving a vehicle that appeals to women. The U.S. is still fairly autocentric and while having a cool car may not score you points, it doesn't hurt. If you have an uncool car, though, you could really lose points. Women love the MINI. It doesn't hurt that most figure you aren't trying to "compensate" when you drive a car like that.

Unless they are filming a "Girls Gone Wild" Video or at Mardi Gras, I find women don't tend to flash me either. Especially not the older ones, usually it's the Teen/college age women... :D

I'll share one of my favorite stories with all of you:

A horse and a chicken were playing in a meadow. The horse fell into a mud hole and is started to sink. The horse instructed the chicken to get the farmer so that he could be pulled to safety. The chicken ran to the farm but the farmer was nowhere to be found. Without a moment to spare, the chicken got into the farmer’s BMW and drove back to the mud hole. Then, the chicken tied some rope around the bumper, threw the other end of the rope to her friend, the horse, and proceeded to pull the horse to safety.

A few days later, the chicken and the horse were playing in the meadow again. This time around, the chicken fell into the mud hole. The chicken instructed the horse to get the farmer so that she could be pulled to safety.

Replied the horse, "Here’s the plan... I’ll stand over the hole..." The horse stretched over the length of the hole and continued, "Now, just grab for my "thingie" and pull yourself to saftey."

The chicken obliged reluctantly and pulled herself to safety.

The moral of the story: If you're hung like a horse, you don't need a BMW to pick up chicks.
