: New rear lights yp742 May 22nd, 2003, 08:57 AM I have checked with my sales today and he told me the part numbers are not for US spec cars and cannot be ordered here.
I am wondering if the lights would fit the US spec cars and if there is any other way to get them beside flying to Germany all the way?
Those lights sure look great and I want them bad, anyone know? :)
:dark: :dark: :dark: mhoutman May 22nd, 2003, 01:17 PM YP 742,
Perhaps this has something to do with the rear fog-light compartment ?
Cheers,
M.
:green: yp742 May 22nd, 2003, 02:00 PM mhoutman,
I have read some old threads, they said US spec cars do have the rear fog lamp built in but is not programmed to be functional?  US spec and Euro spec should have the same fitting?   mhoutman May 22nd, 2003, 02:01 PM YP 742,

Your info on Bad Manners question could have been cruxial in this matter, but as your car was build in december 2002, it certainly is not a recent build or even MY 2004 car.
So with your posting it all becomes rather confusing;-)
Just for your info, the red/white rearlights have NO orange blinking-light part but it is white .
So with your car there are some possibilities:
- the red/white rear lights were fitted mistakenly (in the factory) or afterwards by your dealer.
Could you please check your rear light again and confirm the color of the blinking light part.
Many thanks in advance.

other picture:green: Bad Manners May 26th, 2003, 06:32 AM As promised a few days ago, pics of the current setup.
I moved the bluey Diadem bulbs that were supplied with the red/white rear light clusters into the front indicator position, and fitted Philips SilverVision bulbs in the rear clusters.
The result is that the white at the back looks white (but still flashes amber), and the indicators at the front have a blue tint, but also look rainbowy from certain angles. Bad Manners May 26th, 2003, 06:38 AM Here's the rainbow effect of the Diadem bulbs ARitz May 26th, 2003, 08:23 AM Those look great. Does anyone know if it is possible to just get the lenses, and not the bulb assembly? That way i can just add the silver vision to my current bulb assembly and only pay for the lenses.
-Andrew Bad Manners May 26th, 2003, 02:23 PM Nope, the lenses are made as one hugs plastic and metal lump.
If there was a cheaper way, I'd have gone that route ;) Speedd May 26th, 2003, 02:26 PM They do look the Business Andy
:) smiffy May 26th, 2003, 04:31 PM Ive got the front indicator clear/blue bulbs from MINI, £10 each though  Bad Manners May 26th, 2003, 04:36 PM Ahh, but Osram say they last twice as long as other coated bulbs ;)
You've saved money :D mhoutman May 26th, 2003, 04:47 PM BadManners,
Do you happen to have any parts. nrs. of the white front indicators.
TIA.
M
:green: Bad Manners May 26th, 2003, 04:53 PM Sorry M, but I don't have those part numbers, because I didn't buy the bulbs separately. I used the ones that came in the red/white rear light cluster kit.
You can check Powerbulbs indicator styling (http://www.powerbulbs.com/indstyling.htm?prodid=psv&type=IND) for a choice of the silver/white Philips SilverVision or the blue/rainbow Osram Diadem indicators. £14.75 for a pair, and I think they should ship to The Netherlands OK. mhoutman May 26th, 2003, 05:01 PM Bad Manners,
Sorry I was not clear to you ; I need a parts no.
of the white plastic lenses.
TIA
Michiel:green: Bad Manners May 26th, 2003, 05:04 PM M, the front indicators have white lenses with orange bulbs. All you have to do is change the orange bulbs for SilverVision ones. :) CalCooperS May 27th, 2003, 12:57 AM Anyone know where I can get a set of those here in the U.S. Or can anyone over there help me get a set? ARitz May 27th, 2003, 08:38 AM Actually power bulbs is a great place for shipping to the US. Shipping is free and it arrives very quickly, their service was awesome.
-Andrew lotoole3 Jun 19th, 2003, 08:45 AM Anyone here in the States had any luck ordering these lens assemblies??? CalCooperS Jun 19th, 2003, 10:17 AM I put in an order at ctd, they should arrive in a couple weeks. ARitz Jun 19th, 2003, 10:36 AM Do you mind me asking how much it costs to ship it from CTD? Are the shipping prices bigger because of the long distance?
-Andrew CalCooperS Jun 19th, 2003, 10:30 PM EUR 201.55 Shipped = $235.68 USD
Cheaper than the clear tail lights. Bad Manners Jun 19th, 2003, 11:21 PM What colour is your MINI, Cal?
I'm trying to picture how it'll look? CalCooperS Jun 19th, 2003, 11:38 PM It's Indi Blue with a white top, I currently like my clear ones but wanted to see how the red and clear will look. If I don't like it I'll probably sell them on ebay. | |
