Thanks.

I'm sure they'll look great. Remember you can go with the default bluey indicators or swap them to Philips SilverVision for a white/silver look.

I'm in the process of placing an order for these at CTD at the moment. Think they'd look great on a black/white car! How simple is it to change the rear clusters on the MINI? I don't really fancy getting the lights then finding it too hard to fit them. Is it a task fairly easily done by one's self?

Cheers.

Yes, here here for group buy!

I was in the process of working out shipping with them, would be much more beneficial to us all if we can get a bunch of orders in at the same time...

Count me in for a pair!

Also, does anyone know if they come with the bulbs, and if so, what kind are in the turnsignal? Amber or blue?

I had placed an email but haven't heard back yet...

Took me ages coz all I had was one adjustable spanner . It'll be much easier with an appropriately sized socket, or even a ring spanner.

Short version for the adventurous:
1 nut + 2 clips per side. It's fairly obvious :)

Long version:
In the boot (trunk), pop the side panel covers off to gain access to the inside of one of the rear light clusters.
Unclip the cable that attaches to the lighht cluster. You'll see a nut on a looong thread - undo this (this is what took me ages coz I could only do it 1/6th turn at a time, and the adjustable spanner kept adjusting itself to a different size)
Reach your hand around to the far side of the cluster, and pop the two metal clips there. (Look at your new light for the location of the clips.) Your old light cluster should pop out. You can edge it out of its aperture.

Refitting is the reverse of this procedure. Compare the new light on one side with the old light on the other to see how flush it needs to be. You'll have to do the nut up quite tight to compress the weatherproofing foam on the new lights. Apply firm even pressure to the new light and listen for the two ping sounds that would indicate the clips have clipped.

Don't forget to reconnect the cable and test your lights. ;)

If you have a CD changer and/or HK amp, you'd do best to remove the changer, and be prepared for a few scraped knuckles.

I also received a white high level brakelight with the kit. If you have a Cooper with a spoiler, or the spolier from the aero pack, you're going to have a hard time with this, because that kind of spoiler makes it very hard to remove the high level light! If you have no spoiler or a Cooper S spoiler, open the boot hatch, undo the three bolts holding the light in, pop it out, unclip the cable, reclip it onto the new light, and bolt it back in place again.

The red n white lights are less than I paid for them - but it doesn't say there if they're BMW ones, nor if they come with the white 3rd brake light. They look about right though :)

:(

I'll try a few more times I suppose, but thusfar, there's been no response at all. I realize they're in a different time-scape over there, but it's been the better part of a week with no response to e-mails.

Sorry it's not better news.

If these rear light clusters were used, would it be necessary to change the 3rd brake light just like you have to with the clear rear lights? I think it would look better with the red brake light.

These look like the lights the "S" should have come with. Clear side markers, clear "dots". :)

I wish I could justify the cost for these and the chrome speedo and tach trim rings. :D

I'd use bulbs that light orange and I'd keep the red brake light.

The price has ALWAYS been 199 Euro + 27VAT. The nice thing is that we don't pay VAT here in the US and there's a nice discount if you use credit card.

The 27 euro for VAT is included in the 199.95. If you're ordering from the states you should get this back.

In the basket it says:

Total: EUR 199,95
incl. 16% Tax: EUR 27,58

Ok, this sucks.

First of all, I just ordered mine last week. So I miss out on maybe $15-20 savings. Boo hoo. No big deal.

Second of all, I have never seen pictures of Tino... :(

Mmmm. Nice job on the GB. Can someone verify the quality of these lights? Are they OEM? Is the only difference the white dots?
Thx,

Shame, I ordered mine last week for 199.95 euro.

Oh well, it's only about 20 squid savings I suppose. 1 round less drinks this weekend then. :p

ruf & Bonjour, - if you PM me your names & a date you ordered, I'd be happy to see if Tino would be gracious enough to charge you via the appropriate group buy prices.;)

jspranza, I do believe the only difference is the round, White-dot area of the tail light. They seem to be of OEM-quality, having read several reviews of MINI2 folks who've already bought them.

ruf, - I've never seen Tino either,- benefit of the doubt! :D

same here... i took the lack of reponse on behalf of CTD to your original request for a group buy as a no-go, and ordered them about a week and a half ago... sent you a PM... thanks in advance.

By the way, I received them this morning... from initial inspection they are the real deal, good quality... I'll try to get them on the car tonight, and post some info and pics...
