Living the Mini Life. Love to drive my MCS into the mountains, or, anywhere for that matter. Looking to meet local mini drivers. What's up?

I'm considering moving to the Longmont area. What are the dealers like? I fear loosing the excellent service of Peabody and ending up with a bonehead that would deny warranty work because I have an after market air freshener.

I would hate to have to whip out the Magnuson-Moss (http://www.sema.org/content/?id=22238) on a dealer and spoil the relationship.

Durango, myself. Not many cooper dealers around here. However, I actually bought mine in Kansas a while back.

Heya,
I'm from CSprings myself. I've prolly seen some of you driving around...considering it's not exactly the largest city. If you ever see a liquid yellow MINI with contrasting roof and mirrors...and a blonde girl driving it...that's me!
I got my baby in March from Schomp. It was a 4 month wait...it KILLED me. Oh man, it was difficult. But now I have my baby...and I'm happy now.

Voted " #1 Mountain Festival " by Westword Magazine - The Official Colorado State BBQ Championship

Just like last year, we will head up to the hills (the back way, not on the Interstate) to Frisco for the Colorado BBQ Challenge on Saturday, June 25th. This ride includes about 110 miles of twisties and mountain roads each way, plus about 2 hours of Beet, Bones, BBQ, and good ol' fashioned smoke while there. Come enjoy the BBQ samples ($ buck a bone) and have a cold one. Details:

Leave Denver: 9 am from Coors Brewery, Golden Co (Visitor Center / Tour entrance) via Hwy 285 and Fairplay, CO. Arrive Fairplay 11 am. Meet Colorado Springs group. About 86 miles, 2 hours.

Leave Colorado Springs: Guiseppe's Old Depot Restaurant (downtown by the tracks) at 9 am also. This route goes thru Woodland Park and Florissant on US 24 to Fairplay, CO. About 85 miles, 2 hours plus.

MEET AT THE FAIRPLAY PIZZA HUT, ON HWY 9 / 285. CAN'T MISS IT.

Arrive Frisco: Noon (remember, mountain roads)
Eat, Drink, be Merry 2 hours or so
Return to Denver OR Colorado Springs about 2:15 or so, give or take, thereabouts, I think. Note: The I-70 ride East, as much as it is an Interstate......can be a very fun ride.

UPDATE!!! MINI5280 will provide each attending MINI driver with a nice supply of 'sample' tickets, enabling you to 'sample' or taste a wide variety of BBQ items! The club appreciates it's members, so we want to help you enjoy BBQ!! Join us for the ride, and the samples are yours!! ( WE CALL THEM BUCK-A-BONE TICKETS)

Who really cares. We have an excuse to Motor, Eat and Drink in a great setting. Sign up below for the fun!!!

See www.townoffrisco.com for more details. Click on Event, then BBQ. Or go to http://www.townoffrisco.com/Application1.pdf for more info.

MINI5280 Members Andy and Erin Autobee are getting married this weekend and we promised them some MINIs to take the wedding party from the wedding to the reception.....here is what Andy wrote:

Calling all MINIS and Minis!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We need as many MINIs and Minis for our wedding escort from the church to the reception on Saturday the 18th of June. We would like to have a convertible for the bride and groom, but the more the merrier! We have told many of our guests about this and they "Can't Wait to see the MINIs." Any help to make this day special for us would be great! Here are the details:

Church:
Lord of Life Luthern Church
12021 Northaven Cir.
Thornton, CO 80241

Reception:
Brittany Hill
9350 Grant
Thornton, CO 80229

The wedding is at 4:30 but we would like to have as many people/MINIs there around 3:30 in order to take pictures. Everyone is welcome to the wedding but we don't have room at the reception. When the wedding is over there may be more pictures then a drive by for the camera/video people. After the driveby we will need to go on a short 20-30min "run" around the area to give the photo, video, and guests time to make it to the reception site. There may be more pictures there too.

Thanks so much for your help!

Andy and Erin Autobee

Please contact me at jsouz@allstate.com and I an forward your reply to Andy. Or, go to www.northamericanmotoring.com and send a PM to AAAMINI (Andy Autobee). Or go to the MINI5280 Forum and reply there, in NAM also.

Thanks.

Yalla Yalla 2005 Prizes announced!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a partial prize list for all YY attendees this year. Please note, there will be additional gifts and giveaways beyond what is listed here. Please plan to join us on Sunday....details in this thread:

NorthAmericanMotoring - As in years past, Mark Ferguson and NorthAmericanMotoring are providing to all drivers a complimentary NAM Tshirt of your choosing. We have men's and women's models to choose from, short and long sleeve. Further, Mark has graciously provided an unlimited supply of additional t-shirts - all varieties - at a low low price of just $5 each. In addition, we will have a great supply of NAM caps also at a low low price of $5!! Come on out and outfit the family...

Ralph Schomp MINI - John Angel and his staff of Motorin' MA's have again provided a large supply of bling from the coffers of RSM - among other items we have shirts, jackets, CD cases, perhaps some MINI slippers again, oil changes, and more. Come on out and get yours...plenty for all!!

WEBB Motorsports - America's #1 MINI tuner located right here in Denver again offers up a nice array of gifts and giveaways. This year we will have again some driving lessons (on the track, of course), swaybars, plugs, a 15% reduction pulley and more. Come on out and meet Randy Webb and his staff, check out the MINI Mule and with luck, the new Lotus as well.

Detailer's Paradise - Nick and Heather Martinez continue with their generous support of MINI5280 and the MINI community. Nick will have for us a wide variety of detailing specialties so we can keep our cars nice looking and of course, 'shiny side up'. Bling includes feather dusters, buckets, waffle weave towels (for that scratch and swirl free drying), car wash, bug juice, and more. Come on out and get yours, and meet us for the October detailing session at DP.

Paragon Motor Cars Denver - Come on out and meet Matthew Kryjak from Paragon and pick up some of his great gifts. Matthew will provide a number of motoring specialties for you to take home. With any luck, he will also have one of his beautiful showroom cars for us to see and enjoy.

CarPartsCoupons - Always wanted a nice pair of aftermarket taillights (in carbon fiber, no less?) CPC has them, and they are giving them away to you. Come on out and meet our friend from CarPartsCoupons and find out what they have to offer. John Warner and his group (John is based here in Denver) have some great and gorgeous parts for you....

and more.

Our community has been fantastic in support of MINI and Mini brands and the whole community. Please join us for YY2005 on Sunday. Our agenda is:

11:00 Meet at Schomp, Driver's meeting, and scramble start
3:00 est Arrive at end destination, Buffalo Rose in Golden

There is only one place in town for detail supplies, and that is Detailers Paradise at www.detailersparadise.com

Located down on Broadway, 1 mi S of I-25, Nick and Heather Martinez run the business. Call them up, pls tell them I sent you, and let them know you are a MINI owner and with MINI5280. They will treat you well.

The showroom is nice and easy to browse...they will also demo products for you.

Let me know if you make it down there...

Thanks,

Jonathan

Jonathan,

Adding them to my TOMTOM's address book as I type. When should I expect my 5280 decal?

Also, is the October meeting at Webb or Schomp? The 5280 website says Webb, the calander says Schomp. Or I am just really confused.

Thanks for the quick response and I look forward to meeting you in October.
