Ok, so I had this guy tell me that ALL S's where AWD(all wheel drive) I told him he was full of it. Then he kept on and on. So I told him that, to the best of my knowledge, ther was no such option for a Mini Cooper S. We then proceeded to put a 100$ bet on it. So, experts, Please tell me if Im in the money or out of the money, and if you can point me to some offical proof one way or the other. Thanks guys.

Only FWD. www.miniusa.com should have all necessary information proving the point. If there was an AWD option, I sure would have gotten it.

There was never an AWD Mini or MINI produced at the factories, or even a popular conversion (although I am sure some were made by specialist companies).

Hang on lad's - I've got an idea.

How about a modern uptake on the Twini-Mini.
BMC's competition dept made an austin mini with another engine in the boot driving the back wheels.

How about a HARTGE BMW MCS with another HARTGE MCS engine in the boot - 426 BHP and all wheel drive? - Somebody's got to do it!

Stew.

And here is your proof, an X-Ray picture of the MCS. As you can see there is only the central exhaust pipe ging form the engine to the rear wheels, no drive shaft.

Would be some nice camera for the 100% pure MINI babes wouldn't it? :p :D

The monster garage snowmobile MINI doesn't count as rear wheel drive. I'm not sure if it was an s or not.

i believe JC himself had a Twin engine awd Mini way back when called THE BEAST. But thats about it.. no New MINI has been created in awd or 4wd. Now since we all help confirmed the bet. Can you share some of those winnings =)

If the bum doesn't believe the wisdom of Mini2 folk, have him lay down on the road and look up while you drive over him. He will quickly notice that there is no drive shaft to the rear wheels (and no electric motors on the rears, either).
