OK, when you host again, I'll be there!

Aren't you close to Deal's Gap? Maybe we can work out something to tie in with Dragon Run 2004?

and PS, I moved your thread to US National.

I would like to clear something up on this. I think most of you knoe the reason for this thread is to encourage you not to be run off by the actions of a few. I have classic Minis and would like to see a strong mixture of both at the 2004 meet. I have recieved some bashing from the board troll on MM. see:http://www.minimania.com/web/threadid/45956/InfoID/1/SiteMessages/21/msgthread.cfm

My intent is to invite the new MINI to be a strong part in this meet !! When you see who started this thread on MM you will understand its content.Remember that if you get into a search for a classic.
AAARRRGGGG !! This is posted by Hotelcalif. I forgot it was logged on Bs acount!!

It's near Chicago because two area classic Mini clubs accepted the task of putting the event together. Rockford is a nice town and some pretty areas for driving. The host hotel is awesome. I believe the weekend or two before the meet is a Vintage race at Blackhawk Farms in Rockton, 15 miles north. I raced it this year and plan on attending next year.

I'm a multi classic mini owner myself, and don't see any problems with the new MINI attending the meet. The more the merrier.

## Discussion:
It happens as a combined event only once every five years (45th in 2004).

MINIs and Minis of all flavors, build dates, and states of tune are welcome.

The track day at Blackhawk Farms has come together. Phil Wicks will be running the track events for the whole week, starting on Monday for early arrivals. The cost is currently discounted from $200/day to $160/day for this event, and it is expected to be further reduced by sponsorship (I’ll guess $130 before we arrive). I talked to him and they appear to be a professional bunch, with a very pretty track to experience.

Some of us will come from far away, if we can attend. There is a wonderful opportunity for "caravans" to pull into the grounds after days of running together. My son and I would make this our Road Trip for this summer.

I have some ideas that need a bit more work, but they involve dinners and lunches, a coordinated crossing of the Mississippi, mud-bottom pie, a fish fry, braking for some high speed corners, a reeeeaaally big picture, and more. We'll see.

Anyone interested in helping to pull people to this event from the west coast?

Rooms are the Resort in Rockford are about half rented. I was surprised! This is early, and it means that a large group may post for this combined event.

We have just returned from this event. Everything went great. There was about 300 cars with maybe 20% being new Mini. Randy Webb got FTD at the autocross.

Next year will be Dublin Ohio and they have stated it will be MINI friendly !! We had 100 Bi-Minual stickers and almost sold all of them.

Love the sticker idea! Fuzzy loves to tinker with older cars and we had been in the market for a Mini, maybe we'll start looking again. Just to wear the sticker. ;)

Thanks for the link!

Rodger Soucy was there at the event in the Metro. I've completely lost track of him since he left the Puget Sound area. This looks like it was fun.
