In Ohio, last I checked "A POWERS" was available, but my wife didn't like it.

You have all gotten me thinking I want one for my forthcoming MCS. So I am checking on Mass's RMV site, 6 characters, letters and numbers only, first 2 must be letters. Everything I could come up with Mini related was already taken. You in the states will be the only ones to really appreciate this but what do you think of MY SUV It may have to be run together as one word, that is not clear, in which case MYSUV on my mini. What do you think? You must understand I despise SUVs generally speaking. All these single commuters driving their H2s to work. And soccer moms with Suburbans. Oooh I feel safe because I drive a tank. Everyone who knows me knows I feel this way so it would at least be funny to them. I just wonder if it would incur wrath from some people. Don't want people messing with my car because they don't like the plate. I don't think it should really offend anyone though. What do you think? Thanks.

I would stay away from a plate that might offend anyone. There are some good ideas on this thread. Did you try any of them? I love the ITY*BTY. Too funny. Keep the humor aimed at youself and you will be less likely to get vandalized.
BTW, I was born and raised in Springfield. Now live just over the line in CT.
When does your MCS come in?

mikeoconnor1: you think it would offend people. It is kind of tongue in cheek on its own. I am undecided as to wether it would offend anyone.

I have in fact tried many of the ones on here but they are all unavailable, as in taken. A friend suggested IM2BIG as I am 6'5" and he doesn't see how I will fit. My MCS is scheduled for a September 5th production, so I am expecting Mid October delivery.

I don't think it will. I was mostly referring to the plates like 2QWK4U. If the plate is funny for you and your friends, go for it. Most folks just won't get it, and that's OK. Your fellow MINI owners will get a laugh out of it.
A friend at work drove my MCS. He is 6-4 and 300ish lbs. He had no problems driving the car. It surprises everyone how much room they have. It certainly has more than my Explorer did. Once they sit inside, they are convinced.
I think my production date was mid March and I got it April 11th. With luck, yours may get in sooner. What color? Options?

Here in Germany we are pretty restricted on what we can do as the first letter(s) correspond to the place of residence but I managed BIG 163. Very proud of it and thanx Kevin..

i think the room in them is awesome- my hubby is 6'9" and weighs 323- all 6 of us go out to dinner in it. people stand and stare when we all pile out of it. i was going to put CCBABY (my nickname) but went for the one i have.

I just ordered my new plates online for Ohio at www.oplates.com. It was between BE SMALL and BIG IDEA, I went with BIG IDEA. I wasn't even going to change my plates, my current plate is SO LOST and I figured it would apply to my sense of direction as well in the MINI as it would in my Miata. But these great plates have inspired me to go with something MINI related. Great ideas though, keep them coming.

Oh Oh Oh, I know where that is. It is the parliament building in Canberra. I recognize the flag pole. I have been there. Very cool building.

You can usually get closer but for some strange reason they don't like cars stopping just outside the nations parliament building at the moment ;)

Hey Jim! Yeah, it was a pretty nasty ordeal. I got in an accident on June 6, it was a hit-and-run, the other driver was drunk. The wheel took most of the impact and the entire cradle underneath the car needed to be replaced. I just picked up my MINI from the shop earlier this week & it feels better than ever.

Thanks for asking Jim, I really appreciate your concern! :)

Be safe!

not being nosy-- but is the mini fairly safe in an accident? i was just wondering as i have my small boys with me most of the time. seems it would hold up better as less sheet metak - more safety bars/bags in them

Hi MISSCBABY! I've read a lot of threads about accidents that people have had in their MINIs. I don't recall ever reading one in which the person was actually hurt. I would say it's a pretty safe car. :)

(sorry guys for going off topic)

thanks eric... good! have had it less than 5000 miles and travel alot with kids (very active- cub scouts- karate class normal boy stuff) but have to go to nashville often- and those people refer to it as crashville. if it rains- they crash. have to go to nashville to bmw dealer to get it serviced etc so was thinking i had asked about roll bags/ air bags when purchased.-- that and it just looks cool

OK, based on feedback here and at my office, I went for it and ordered my first ever vanity plate. "MYSUV" for my 2004 DS/B MCS which is scheduled to be built the first week of September. Which should work out just about right as the plate takes 12-14 weeks. Even if no one else laughs here in the states where everyone thinks bigger is better, I will at least smile every time I see it. Of course I would probably be doing that anyway just because of the car itself.;)

Good for you David!

Enjoy & here's hoping the waiting doesn't get to be too much to handle.
