With all the public restrooms costing 20 pence, a trip to Starbucks can make a dent in the days' spending money. :D

bump for all those bantering in the registration thread and have been told off by Martin L :D

Still seems quiet in here considering the other thread is still going

Thanks Chris for digging this out ;)

In fairness it is difficult to keep the two going as something comes up in the other thread that people pick up on and discuss and before you know it its turned into banter. I agree that the other thread is a good idea and should be kept as registration only but it is tricky to jump from one thread to another with banter, thats probably why this one has gone quiet.

FAO Aiden!!!

Aiden, just outside Selfridges there is a bus stop where you can catch a No. 7 bus. Its last stop is at Russell Square, where I can pick you up and drive you to High Wycombe. You would need a 1 GBP coin to buy a ticket on the machine before you board the bus though.

Driving to the Selfridge Hotel to pick you up on Saturday would be a nightmare for me :)

Let me know what you think ;)

Dont you have to come past Selfridges anyway to get on the A40?

Aiden/DK,
There is a quiet road opposite the hotel which would be a goodplace to meet up

Excellent :D

BRG MC is staying at King's Cross, so may be he could join us at Tavistock Square where I normally park before setting off to pick up AW and Jim etc....

Forget about waiting at Russell Square in a car - traffic wardens will pounce on you  They are only doing their job for the residents, so I cannot complain ;)

What time are you guys planning on going to High Wycombe???
I guess before lunch as everyone will have to have checked out of their hotels....
You'll need to take that into consideration

Nope ;)

Woburn Place>Upper Woburn Place>Euston Road, and I am on the A40 :D

Would that be Wigmore Street? Not sure if it would be that easy to find places to park on a Saturday afternoon though - crafty shoppers usually park there

Oh yes, suppose I'll be checking out at 11.00, still, I can do some shopping in the interim..........:)

Aiden,

I believe you "should" be able to leave your lugguage at the hotel and do a spot of shopping before coming over to RS (if that is the plan).

I have not planned to arrive at HW much before 16:30h as I don't want to start drinking that early - not with a potentially heavy night the night before :D

Does anyone want me to check out nearby watering holes, i.e not on the actual TGI, Hotel, John Lewises, Asda complex, but walkable (say 10-15 mins? there, and 45 mins back?;) ). I'm in the vicinity this Thursday during daylight, could also look for alternative eateries, Chinese, Indian, Tex Mex, or Cat.
I'll do it anyway, and post some ideas back here later in the week.

Thats true DK, Rick said its not far out of the way for him, so I'll jump on board with him, better for me than getting lost on a bus around the M25 ! :D

True too, maybe I'll still be in the sack at check out time ! :p

Good on you, and thank you for volunteering :D

Personally, and I mean personally, I am quite happy to eat at the hotel, and then drink in the bar afterwards. Last year, it was soooooooo cold that there was frost on the ground, and I nearly slipped and fell over walking to and back from TGIF

I would love to eat out, however, not if it involves a long track (anything more than 10min is long track for me) against the elements :)

As I mentioned, play it by the ears, and we need to fend for ourselves :)

Peeps, please bear in mind that there is NO ORGANISED EVENT as such for Saturday night, and you are free to do whatever you fancy :)
