I saw this during my visit at IAA Franfurt at the MINI Booth. There as a full specced Works with seats, rims, engine etc.

Will be available in a couple a weeks. I must have for me;-)

Nope, its a dashmount bracket (using the mounting points of the radio) with the cables from the kit running inside a black flexi tube thing!

Strangely, the black tubing is identical to the tube which links the air con to the glove box, except the glovebox version is clear!

Very nice looking - pity these can't be part of the standard upgrade. I guess if they added them it would push the price up   ;)

Just got this info from JC garages:

The JCW Door Sill Strip is now available from MINI dealerships. The part no. is '51 71 0 305 557'. You need to order 2 of these per car.

JCW

Although price and availability of this part is not known by de dutch ETK, my first order is out;-)

Anyone seen these? I saw a pic on a JCW yahoo site and the were the metal plates are on the indside of the door sills, but they had "John Cooper Works" instead of the normal "Mini Cooper S" logo.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Jones.

Not heard of these, I don't think they are official stuff. I did ask about these when I picked my JCW up, it was an idea Mike Cooper had but it never came to fruition.

Where did you see these pics (link?)

Cheers

There is a Yahoo group that someone on here started and it was on there in one of the folders. I think it was an American based group so maybe an aftermarket copy from over the pond.

Cheers. Nice car by the way MichaelK!!!! You have good taste! Apart from the lack of white roof of course ;)

These JCW logo'd door sill plates have appeared on a Mini2 post recently (with pictures). They are offical and have a BMW part number although Minty posted that the part number was not yet on the system. I have the part number at home and will post it tonight unless someone else beats me to it.

Jones, probably a repeat now but here is the part number information for the JCW sills:

The part no. is '51 71 0 305 557'. You of course need to order 2 of these per car.

Cheers.

I took the part number from the aforementioned post and, while at my Mini dealer in Dallas, had them look up the part. It was in their system, and the price was about $40 US each. I ordered two of them and will call them tomorrow to see if they have arrived. The part number was valid, but the dealer had no way to tell if the door sills were JCW sills, since there was no description, outside of door sill plates. I will keep you informed.

Shouldn't you also have to give them your JCW Kit number? Are MINI going to hand these out to anyone who asks/pays for them? Doesn't bother me, yet. BMW do this with M3 badges to attempt to stop people 'doing up' their cars.

they can "do up" their cars all they want until they get dusted at a stop light. But those sill plates are sweet. gotta have 'em.
