GMINI03,

Gav, cool you can go. It is free and the link to sign up is a page or two back, I gave it to Ian.

You going with one or two cars? Will talk later about meeting up to meet the others.

See, I knew it was worth the entry fee..! ;)
I've seen the links on here to MAMA, I guess I'll go and sign up. It'll just be me in one car.

It will be good to see you again.
Have we solved all the photo problems guys? Are we ready? No. 2 pencils sharpened? ;)

Some random thoughts/tips:
For those who may want to, there is a big bluegrass music festival in Keene on 10/11. Runs to 10PM at the Cheshire County fairgrounds. Great dobro sounds!
ActualSize and I did the prelims and the route looks to be @ 85 miles with a couple of planned breaks/stops for liquids of most types...or voiding same.
I only noted 2 places where ice could get airborn but this is NH and one never can predict the onset of frost heaves.
Our official watering hole, The Rynborn, has a full menu with good food from $6.00 to $20.00. The Cheryl Arena Band on Friday and The Porch Rockers on Saturday. Read reviews at www.bostonblues.com and check out the Rynborn at www.Rynborn.com. Also a huge brunch available Sunday with acoustic tunes. A bit pricey but massive in scope. Music starts @ 9PM. You must be 21 to stay and cover for Fri. and Sat. is a piddlin' $5.00
So far, I know of 8 of us for Sat. PM at the 'born so I am getting reservations for a big table. Reservations needed only for parties of 6+. Anyone else want to join us and knows now, please PM me.
Just thinking a bit...anybody have experience with runs with a staggered start? ie 2 groups of MINIs say 20 minutes apart? Just a thought.
On this run, we will be aware of posted speed limits in the residential areas we drive through.
Once more, MAMA membership is free at this point and we welcome all to the ride, members or not.

More later. If you are really hurting for a place to stay Saturday night, Actual Size has some floor space and has graciously offered it. Check the thread for details.

[SIZE=1]How's this for spacing, JB?

OMG:eek: John put a series of coherent thoughts together! A lucid morning. Must be the fresh cool high pressure Fall weather.
I'm choosing the correct Blues cd's to load up the cd changer with. I think it should be a great weekend to motor to the Blues. I save the "music to deploy air bags by" for solo drives in northern Maine.
Make sure there's a chair for me at the Rynborn.
Jared bailed on me. Traitor. Choosing to drive up with the ex-pats. He probably couldn't have kept up anyway.

Impressive.

But what's up with the "[SIZE=1]"?

I'll give you a 98% on that last post. Still room for improvement, but overall very nice.

as being that brunch music starts at 9pm, but I'm sure that's not what he meant..!

Thanks, but I think I'll hit the back roads. There's some great ones north of Worcester into NH.
Brunch on Sun. sounds good as long as no one is singing folk music.

It's a big editor who can accept criticism from amateurs...
re JB and Size #1, I thought I was decreasing the type size for the last line...again, when will mini2.com for dummies be published?
re "music at 9" nice catch but my mother says we are related to Jas. Joyce somehow so it must be genetic.

And I am feeling somewhat coherent this AM, thank you very much. Now can we get back to business, you faffers! We need to induce/seduce my sweetie MEMini to make the drive down from the frozen North. While none of us whom I know can offer any physical reasons why she should hang out with the likes of us, there must be some way to get her down here. Any ideas?
Pin, are you the guy I met at Peabody one AM, the guy who had his car shipped up from Florida?

Would that be "Riding With The King" ;)

Another question from the confused English guy:
We meet at 10am (which means I need to set off at 7am!) and do this 85 mile (2 hour?) drive with some stops. So lets guess we finish at 3pm or so.
Then what happens? John says music at 9pm so what goes on between?
I have no room and did not understand the need for a room Saturday night - am I wrong?

Ian,

Between 3 and 9 is when I kick Steve's ass in the parking lot. And also time for John to catch the early-bird specials at Denny's. I think staying over is mostly just for people coming from far that don't want to drive home Sat. night, like Steve or maybe Jason.

Baker, are you coming?

John, I will be there Sat. night.

GMINI,

There are many great deals out there for our elders (60+) including early-bird specials and discounts at all sorts of places. I can only hope our token old guy takes advantage of such opportunities! Not flashing that senior discount card at any business or restaurant is just wasting those precious last few years.

I still find that quite the quip. Even if it weren't meant so. John C needs a little pokin here and there to keep his blood flowin. :p

Youse guys were a helluva lot funnier discussing pictures and blurry license plates. Bring on the Depends and I'll drive until the tank runs dry.

Ian, you are a bit needy ;) What did you do in the afternoon at MOT? Seriously, I will come up with lots of ways to spend the hours between the drive and an 8 o'clock dinner. Coming soon. For example, we could go to Keene State College and see if any of the security guards remember Steve.

Haha! Thanks, I needed the laugh:D !!! I choked on my pizza when I read that line! You young pup, you just set yourself up BIG TIME!

Ian, John has nothing planned between 3 and 9 because he has to go home and nap.
If early bird senior meals are smaller portions why is he so fat?

G03, If you didn't plan ahead for a room bring a sleeping bag or look for a really drunk coed at one of the frat houses around 1 a.m. .

Ok its Friday night and I am laughing my ass off!!! JCS, no it was the Mud that had the car shipped from Florida.
Ian, we don't plan on staying the night either. We can head back to Manchester around dinner time to find a TGI Frydays and take care of some business.
Still, anyone that wants to meet in Manchester the morning of the 11th, we will confirm the time. MEMini is more than welcome to slide on down the Maine Tpke and meet me in Kittery.

I'm still up in the air. I keep remembering the old adage that "One is judged by the company that one keeps"..............

Besides, I've been very busy jumping on the bandwagon and devising my own MINI clubs. I've got a few ideas already, but am concerned that they may be a little too exclusive.

What do you think of these?

MOJM

I've got some others, but they aren't fully fleshed out.

Steve, you don't like folk music? I guess I made a big mistake just going out to Hollywood Video and renting "A Mighty Wind". I was under the impression it was a documentary on your life.
