Perfect timing! My MCS is built and waiting for its boat ride. Sounds like
there will be a club in place about the time it arrives :-)

Any thoughts about types of events ? Autocross, Open Track ?

For Autocross, you might be able to hook with the OVR region
of the SCCA to host your Mini club as its own class. I can get you a contact
name if that is of interest.

For Open Track events, you can definitely hookup with the BMW club for events at MidOhio
and Putnam Park. You also might be able to hook up with the Ohio Shelby club at MidOhio.
I am running with them this Friday (Oct 3), granted in a Mustang, but I believe they've opened
their doors to non-Fords now.

Also, the next MINI meet and greet night at the Polaris Parkway, Quaker Steak and Lube restaruant is planned for Oct. 13th

Details for the club name, dues, website and etc. are being finalized and announcements will be made soon. Until then please e-mail Tim Jooz and he can get up set up on the mailing list.

UPDATE: the club has an official name and logo. We are now the MID-OHIO MOTORING CLUB. And there is a website, which should be fully functional within a few days.The address is www.midohiomotoring.com

Club meetings will be held the 2nd Wed. each month at Champps Americana restaurant in Lennox Square (1827 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43212) from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Hope to see you there.
