: Cooper S front bumper MarkW19 Sep 26th, 2003, 08:56 PM Does anyone know if you can just buy a Cooper S front bumper, and put it straight on a Cooper?
How much would it be, and would I be able to sell my Cooper one??
Ta!
-Mark wow Sep 26th, 2003, 10:23 PM I think yes because I saw a Cooper swap bumpers with a S.
I want to know why? The cooper's looks much better. wow Sep 26th, 2003, 10:24 PM I can email you a picture? Paul Sep 26th, 2003, 11:13 PM A few people on here have done the reverse as well, and it's not a direct swap, but it seems fairly easy. The plastic trim is not a perfect match and the foglights are not either. MarkW19 Sep 26th, 2003, 11:19 PM Well, just an idea. Don't think I'll actually do it. Just an idea!
To be honest, I really like the black mesh grille on the bottom of the S bumper, and don't like the silver oval grille on the cooper, I think it's JUST a bit too much silver/chrome.
So, is there any way of changing that bit of grille (under the numberplate) for one similar to the S grille, in black (obviously its a different shape)?
Thanks for the info though guys! :) Shorty Sep 27th, 2003, 07:49 AM Does anyone know if you can just buy a Cooper S front bumper, and put it straight on a Cooper?

A lot of ONE owners have done the opposite to yourself. Just go to your local MINI dealer buy the part and fit it. It does involve removing the bumper. Or just spray paint it black, but that would stone chip.
Alternatively go for something completly custom. wow Sep 29th, 2003, 08:39 AM Tell us how u did it becuase I wnat to get it done this week Damo Sep 29th, 2003, 10:59 AM Tell us how u did it becuase I wnat to get it done this week
DO you mean fitting/making my custom grill, or fitting the ONE black plastic grill? wils Sep 29th, 2003, 12:23 PM get an aero kit
similar to cooper S front bumper
but nicer IMO and the mesh is black hehehe
AND it fits perfectly (: ddp Sep 29th, 2003, 05:11 PM I've done it. Had a damaged bumper, and replaced it with a spare MCS bumper (local dealer in Philly had it leftover due to aero-kit install) Had it installed at Helix...I like the more aggressive look as well. gtt19 Sep 29th, 2003, 05:28 PM black-out that license plate!!! ddp Sep 29th, 2003, 05:33 PM That pic has been around awhile with my plate on it...as well as numerous others. Got sick of doing the old gaussian blur thing. gtt19 Sep 29th, 2003, 07:19 PM thats cool...just thought i would let you know in case it was unintentional ! looks good! MarkW19 Sep 29th, 2003, 07:32 PM Thanks for all the info guys :-)
With Paul saying it's not a perfect match etc., I think I'll actually save up and get the aero bumper with the chrome on (not black). Bit more unique then! :) Damo Sep 29th, 2003, 10:06 PM Thanks for all the info guys :-)

not as unique as you think ;) I'm keeping the Chrome Grill on the aero kit (if I do get it as looking at other £900 options) and making another custom grill to make all the black grills "Chromish" | |
