No delivery date when I talked to Faron last week. I may call him today. Spike was unloaded on 01/28, so he may show up at dealership this week (central Texans on the local Yahoo Group said about 9 days).

Please post again if you get any good info... I have an old email from Faron that said it's about a week from VPC to SA, and then they need a day or so to "make ready," so 9 days sounds OK. I'm giving them 11; aren't I generous? ;)

Well I just got off the phone with the dealership, talked to the helpful receptionist, she said it is on the way, it will be 7 to 10 days from VDC (that would be today through Saturday) for it to arrive, and they do not get any notice, the truck just shows up!

I have read on this forum and elsewhere that the last few days of the wait is hardest. It is. It is excruciating.

No notice? What's up with that? I can't believe they don't call the dealers to tell them cars are on their way -- don't they know prospective MINI owners are ANXIOUS??? :eek:

Thanks for the info... I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for 2/14, and hope for the best. Hope you get yours this weekend -- and I hope they are wrong about the forecast for sleet and rain! Agh!

OH BOY, I just checked the MINIUSA site for vehicle status and it says "AT YOUR MINI DEALER" but the text that goes with that says:

"Your MINI is now being transported to your MINI Dealer. We know it's hard, but please be patient just a bit longer. Once it arrives, your dealer will give it one last shine and a clean bill of health. Then they will call you and set up a time for you to stop by and happpily head home in your new MINI."

Hi AmRov. The first time I called ASK MINI about my problem the rep said the same thing about contacting my dealer for info. So I tried again and got someone very helpful and he told me exactly where my car was. My advice is just to keep trying until you get someone more helpful :) Good luck!

Well, while BryanDixon and I were posting, I got a response from my dealer:

I know I have a bunch of MINIs due here any day. Once they reach the VPC we are talking anywhere from 7 to 14 days. I am going out on limb here when I say this, but I am pretty sure it will be here in order for you to pick it up by the 14th.

Thanks for that... I haven't called very often -- really, only about 5 or 6 times total to talk with a "live" person, so I guess I haven't been a terrible pest. I may give that a shot!

Owners' lounge estimated delivery date seems to mean little, mine is Jan 31.

Hopefully this post will work. I enjoy seeing the Texans go as ga-ga as the Taiki'sters. And I'm sad that you will probably be motoring more and on the computer less.

Please send pictures. I used to deliver babies for a living. There was this woman whose job was to walk around with her "newborn picture machine" in the hospital. We need someone like that at the dealers. Little frames and foot (I mean tire) prints and everything.

MINI MOMMA, so sorry to hear about your troubles (big hug from Bakersfield). I do have some good news however for you and ERIC. My MA from Long Beach MINI called me today to tell me my "MCS will be here in a couple of weeks, and it will either be on the 5 boat or the 8 boat"
I asked "what do you mean the 5 boat or the 8 boat?"
"There is two ships comming in, one on the 5th and one on the 8th"
I then said "Mine is on the Maersk Taiki"
"That would be the 8th boat"
"Really? There web site said the 11th."
"Well, we just got word in today about the two ships and when they arrive,"
"How long will it be at the VDC?"
"About a week to a week and a half."
I then let out an insane laugh and thanked him for calling. Looks like our ship will be early. :D MINI MOMMA I so hope everything work out with you, I will be praying for you. :)

No worries Tavis 1. Brodiea is coming home. There is another little pile of $ that I can tap into. Just makes it complicated in terms of refinancing, etc.

The earlier arrival date is good news/bad news. Could use the extra time to get this stupid FICO mess sorted out. But, the sooner I see her the better.

Brodiea and I have decided to take a little break in Cabo San Lucas on Friday. She is a bit seasick and has cabin fever and I have definitely been riding a few waves around here myself.

The teenager is very sick with a bad virus and I hate being at work so many hours. It seems most of the technology that I rely on has decided to play tricks this week. And, I have office fever. Too many hours indoors.

Ok. Here's something amusing. And a bit strange. My son (and I) think we have to bring a bit of the minivan with us to Salt Lake City when we pick up Brodiea so the good karma from "Mommy's Car" (never in an accident, never a break down in 12 years...) will transfer to her. Along with all these major life changes, we lost our pod of pets that had been with us for 13-17 years (2 cats and a dog) in the last year. The yellow lab insisted on chewing up the very rear seat belts in the van. I replaced them multiple times. Well, he managed to decimate the last pair just before he got ill. So we are cutting off a hunk of chewed up seat belt, and taking it with us to Salt Lake City for the proper "spiritual transfer." :rolleyes:

I know. I know. Crazy. But it makes us happy!! :)

My MCS is sailing the high seas on the Takasago with a scheduled landing in NY on 2/11. Anyone else on this ship? Call sign is LACR5 but I haven't checked if its on the weather sites yet.

I can see it just west of England, quite a ways to go still...

I spoted are ship, it is leval with Puerta Vearta, Mexico, which is about a three day journey by ship----------- found out from my honey moon.
