I'll have to give ASK MINI a ring and speak with a rep. When I called the offices were closed so I only had an automated option. Will give a call this week.

Now that I've got my production number, my enthusiasm has really increased. I patiently waited my turn since last April, got excited in early October when Long Beach asked me to send in my specs, calmed down again, and now I'm trying hard not to count the days till March!



My guess is you're a Jan production. My car was a December production, (built mid-month) and I think I'll get it early Feb (I'm in Northern Cal).

Have you tried calling ASK MINI, and speaking with a rep? They can usually tell you more details than the automated service, or the Owners Lounge.

Thank you very much - I have to admit, the anticipation is killing me.... First MINI....First new car (second car ever)....first car in 7 years...etc. etc...
As for the IB/W - I'm going to have a hard time defending myself soon. All of my friends think I caved in to my girlfriend on the color (she's off the boat Greek)... but I really do like it best.

How can I find out if I'm in the January build? I received my production number in early December (PW/PW S, sport, Cordoba beige leather and all the bells & whistles). I was told delivery would be ca. Feb. 2004, so shouldn't I be in the January build too? A call to the 1-800 number (listed on this site's FAQ's) told me my car is "scheduled for production," but didn't give me a date. Do I need to call the dealer?

Sounds like you're probably a Jan build, too. Try calling ASK MINI on a weekday, and speak with a customer rep. They'll be able to give you more detailed information than the automated service.

Man this seems to be the IB/W thread. Those Jan ships will be full of them! Still no change on my status but last Friday I was told they should start building it this week :)

Whee! I just called customer service, and I was told that my car is "tentatively" scheduled for production in the 3d week of January -- that's just 2 weeks away! Could move forward or backward a bit, the rep warned me... but at least I have something! I was told to expect delivery in late Feb., or maybe even March. The rep. sympathized with my anticipation (ordered 2 1/2 months ago... agh). But I'm getting CLOSER!!! :D :D :D :D

I just called and automated still says "In paint shop, scheduled completion, jan 5th" It's said that for 2 weeks. Talked to a person, said it was just dispatched, ready to hitch a train ride to the shipping dock. Woohoo

I called them today, I was told that my car will go into production "this week some time". We then chatted about my car and if it was my first, then he confirmed what he said again about going into production.

So if that is the case then I might have a late Feb delivery (instead of early March). Can't wait to try back later this week.

Alive and kicking. I have been in socal for the last 2 weeks. I saw 10 hummers for every mini. My mini's status is "scheduled for production with no specific date". I call everyday but no update yet. My current car is barely holding on. I can't wait! Everyone is asking me "did you get your mini yet?" This does not help. By delivery time (early March) it will have been 6 months.

My Cooper is "ready to scan" at the terminal in Southampton and is booked for passage on Otello. Arriving in New York on Jan. 21!

I never spoke with a rep directly at ASK MINI, but did use the automated menu. I gave up today when the system still said it was in the "Paint Shop" with a scheduled completion date of 1/5. So I just went directly to the WW site and did a track on my full VIN. Surprised and happy to find it was completed and sitting there! :D

Well, we could try to find satellite photos of where are cars are being kept for the next week (if its outside). The next obsessive, unhealthy thing we can do is try to find and track Otello through the North Atlantic by following its call sign (SCFH) in the Marine Observations area at http://www.oceanweather.com/data/

wow, i am glad to know that i'm not the only giddy kid salivating over what we don't have yet :p ! i just got info from my dealer that i am in the january production (3rd week). i live in LA. anybody out there in the same boat? i was told that it would take 60 days from the production date at worse.

my mini will be in liquid yellow/white top. seems to be a unique color, not many people have it.

btw, do you all think about your mini like every 10 secs? 20 secs? 5 min? once a day?

On average every 15 seconds is about right (I even pretend I am DRIVING it sometimes on my way home from work)

I am a 2nd week build but the status still has not changed on ask-mini but then again the Rep there said they have been having issues with their system.

Checked with my dealer today on MSC ordered early December. He says it shows in production!!! The owners lounge still shows on order. Apparently the lounge is not always up to date. There's a chance I may get my MINI by the end of the month. WOW.

Don't give up yet! Both of are cars should be completed by Sunday! We all know the computer system lags a bit. I plan on talking to a rep tomorrow to see if there is an update then again on Monday after the car should be completed. Don't dispare!

As of today, the automated response at ASK-MINI is "Production complete, waiting to be released to the carrier". I stopped by Irvine Mini in Irvine, Kahlifoania today to get a "fix" (mine's on order at Long Beach Mini, but this was a handy visit). The closer delivery gets, the harder the wait.

I haven't been like this since I sent in Purina cereal boxtops and a few dollars to get a genuine Chuck Conners "Rifleman" cap rifle many, many years ago. That probably took a month to arrive, but the agony of that wait as a child is a memory that has been recently renewed.

Well the auto system updated today and says in the paint shop :) but my EPD changed to 1/15 :( Talked to a rep and THEY say it is still Jan 11th :confused:
