I'm suppose to be on the Otello as well, Just got there last night (phew hopefully just made it). My Booking number only seems to show up another 15 or so, so it may be even more than 287 (of course mine does not show up on the booking number list, but the booking number shows up in my vin track).

I might have to change my user name to GreenW/NV... ;) Of course, "patience" is part of my NY resolution, so this is good practice, I guess... My car won't be shipped for about another 2 weeks or so... tick ... tick ... tick... *sigh*

Bryan -- I am also in Austin. Looks like I will be behind you by a couple of weeks. When was "Spike" completed? I'll also be curious how long it takes from being on the ship to being at the dealer (did you order from SA, Houston or Dallas?).

I left my deposit at MINI Center in San Antonio in mid October and was told it would be a December build, it was on order early December, scheduled for production a bit before Christmas and was completed January 5 (seemed to spend a lot of time in the paint shop). It got to Southampton Jan 6.

Thanks... I also left a deposit at MINI Center in mid-October (October 18th). I *finally* found out in early December that it was "on order," but it took forever to actually go into production. Found out only yesterday that it is now being built; due to be completed this Friday. Looks like you were able to move a bit more quickly. (Lucky!)

At 21:00 GMT (almost) all 190 MINIs bound for Charleston are loaded, and all but one of the 287 bound for New York are loaded. The one that is not loaded has status of "EXPORT UNIT ON HOLD " and has had that status since Jan 8. Its VIN is WMWRC33444TJ57546, hope it is not anyone we know.

It looks like that poor MINI has been on an Export hold since the 8th, as soon as it arrived at the docks, i wonder if it was damaged in transport to the docks and is awaiting a repair (but I thought that could be done at the VPC, unless it can't even move under it's own power)

My little green friend also made it on the ship today. I wonder if it got to see the Queen Mary II christening and launch from Southampton on Friday? I told a co-worker I thought that would be cool and got nothing more than a worried look back.

Some people...

My cars in the Jan production group. It was due to be delivered to the dealership on Jan 19th, but is being delivered on the 21st instead. The dealer says I can pick it up the next day which is great news. I had to spend hours on the phone to my insurance company (Elephant) to get the car covered, and the cover note sent to the dealer, but I know its going to be worth it :D . Only 8 days now... Hmmmmmmmmmmm, Mini (a la Homer Simpson).

All the best,

Adam

Great to hear about your new car! How long is it from the production date to delivery from the dealer in the UK? We've an average of about 25 days to my dealer here in the U.S.

Funny thing is, not long after my car comes here, I'm off for two weeks holiday in London (actually, an extended pub crawl peppered with other activities). I hope my vacation isn't ruined by dreams of my Mini back at home.

It just so happens that I have a Phd in pub crawls... Back to the point, I ordered my car in early December, and it took 6 weeks from me sitting with the dealer picking out the colours (and for those of you with an American disposition, colour = color), to me driving the car away (which will be next Thursday). I thought 6 weeks was pretty quick, as the first time I went to the dealership they said 10 weeks. But 25 days from production to your dealer (who is thousands of miles away), wow, thats pretty quick.

All the best,

Adam

The 25 days is from the production date (date completed). It took from ordering on Dec. 1 to Jan. 5 to get the car made. A week in Southampton waiting on a ship, a week at sea and another week to the dealer. About 60 days - only about two weeks more than in Britain. I'm on the east coast (well, Ohio). Our friends on the west coast have to wait longer - their Minis have to go all the way down south through the Panama Canal!!

And of course, something could go wrong along the way and I may have to wait longer than planned - but so far, so good.

Thats still pretty speedy, considering. I dont know if you are anything like me, but if you are you have no more fingernails left, and have developed a strange twitch in your left eye in anticipation of the legal narcotic that will be sitting in your garage in such a short time.

That is the voyage that left today. You should check with the shipping line site to make sure your car made it on the boat OK. If it did, I'm jealous. My Mini waited for a week at the dock for a ship.

Good luck!

There are names for people who wait in docks for ships to come in. It's not that Im calling your mini a whore, but you might want to have a little chat with her when she comes ashore.

Go to http://www.2wglobal.com/ and select "Cargo Tracking". Go to Track by Cargo and select "Auto". Type in your entire VIN. That's about as far as you can go for getting info on what's going on with your car now.

Then it's bit iffy. I was booked on the same voyage, but the site showed that I was loaded when I checked today. I'd have another look tomorrow.

The schedule looks quite tight to have made it on in this case, from what I've read.

I hope all goes well.

Oh yay!!!! I haven't had time to be overly compulsive but my OL status just changed to awaiting transport and I find my new girl is booked on the Maersk Taiki. Wow. Can hardly wait. Have the call sign but can't find the ship in the ocean. Could use some tips on following the voyage, if she does get on.

Wow. I missed the part where you could track her through every step of production.

MCS, green/black, sports package, cold package, premium package, HK, etc.

I will pick her up at Murray in SLC. If anyone else is on the same time frame and dealer, give me a holler.

Her new home is on the peninsula, south of SF. Just ordered her pretty new license with Yosemite background and personalized "Brodiea," my favorite wildflower. Finally starting to get real!!

Hooray!!! :) :) :)
