My MINI had just finished being built today and is already booked on the OTELLO: voyage EA401-OTE!!! Can someone tell me if this is the same voyage that left today? Thanks.

Cargo Id: WMWRE33484TD82064
Booking Number: GBSOU206586

Ah, that's another 43 MINIs to Charleston, along with the 190 on booking GBSOU204807 and the 286 to New York on GBSOU203661.

Any other booking numbers?

Well my MINI was knocked off the Otello and is now booked on the Patriot. It's not too bad though because I think the Patriot is scheduled to leave tomorrow. Can someone confirm that this is true? Here is the info:

Cargo Id: WMWRE33484TD82064
Booking Number: GBSOU206586A

VOYAGE: EB401-PAT

PORT: ARRIVAL: DEPARTURE:
SOUTHAMPTON U.K. 15/01/2004 15/01/2004
BRUNSWICK, GA U.S.A. 25/01/2004 25/01/2004
CHARLESTON,SC U.S.A. 26/01/2004 27/01/2004

I'm sure it's very obvious, I just really want to make sure. :) Thanks!

Yes you missed the Otello, as did 29 of the 43 that were booked as GBSOU206586. You are now waited listed on the Patriot and since it does not sail from Southampton until tomorrow, there is certainly a chance you will be on it. And the Patriot gets to Charleston on the same day as the Otello.

Good luck.

Finally (3 weeks of scheduled for production with no confirmed production date)- I called today and my mini is in production with a completion date of 1/22. Yessssssss! Can anyone give an outlook what I can expect next? When should I expect it to ship? Will it sail on the good ship Orion? Any other west coaster's looking at the same time frame?

The maps are out, planning has commenced and road trips await.

I have read the FAQ's, I swear, but I still have a Question: My car is now in the "paint shop." When I called Monday, it said "In production" with an estimated completion date of 1/16. Today, it's in the "paint shop" with an estimated completion date of 1/20. Does that mean my car's date just got pushed back 2 (business) days? I guess that's common... And once it is "done," I guess I have as long as a week to 10 days before it makes it on a ship...? If so, I'm looking at vessels sailing between 1/27 - 1/30 -- does that sound right? (yes, I do have too much time on my hands... agh. Wish I was busier right now!)

I hope this ship is a luxury cruise. I want her to get spoiled. Cleaning out the garage now.

The soon-to-be-retired MINI-van has 210k. Will it make it for another 4-6 weeks? Stay tuned.

At my dealer today (Mini of Peabody) and I found out my car is scheduled to go into production on the 23rd of this month. :(

More wait to go, more wait to go...at least I have my current ride. I also hope all of you that have your Mini's on the Boat now get them soon. You will enjoy them once they arrive.

My original date was 1/11 then once it was in the paint shop it was changed to 1/15 but on 1/11 it changed to awaiting transport so don't dispair! As for the ships, yours will be on one of these I am sure:
SOUTHAMPTON 24/01/2004 PORT HUENEME 18/02/2004 ORION DIAMOND
SOUTHAMPTON 28/01/2004 PORT HUENEME 19/02/2004 BOHEME

Thanks for the info, Eric B! Am I reading those dates correctly -- it takes over 2 weeks on the boat? Wow... that's some cruise! I hope they take good care of our babies on the voyage!!

Anyone?

So you may be on one of thses:

SOUTHAMPTON 22/01/2004 CHARLESTON,SC 02/02/2004 FREEDOM

Nope. I've been looking also. Can't find it. Too much fun not to be a bit crazy at this point.

After I posted my last message, I called AGAIN, just in case, to check my status. My baby is DONE, and awaiting transport!! So, I checked the cargo tracking site, and sure enough -- she's booked on a boat LEAVING TOMORROW (1/17)! :D :D :D So, that's the good news.

The bad news? This boat seems to be VERY SLOW! The boat is the DYVI PUEBLA (a name I hadn't seen in any other posts), and although she leaves on 1/17, she doesn't arrive until Feb. 10th into Charleston! I had seen other boats leaving 10 days later from Southampton (e.g., a vessel leaving on 1/27), arriving a day earlier -- so what gives? I would be better off on the boat that's leaving on the 21st, due to arrive on Feb. 3d... :( :( :(

Well, at least she's DONE and coming home, so I can't complain too much!!! :p

Anyone else have a baby riding the slow boat to Charleston?

AmRov
Jan 16th, 2004, 07:15 PM
Yep, I checked the WW site and sure enough -- my MINI is booked on a boat that has a sailing time (24 days!) of TWICE the average time of all the other boats sailing from Southampton to Charleston over the next few weeks. I'd be much better off missing that boat and catching any of the next 3 rides -- would save at least a week!!! Dang. :( The thought of the other boats loaded with MINIs just blazing past my boat while I wait 3 1/2 weks for the voyage is a real buzz killer.

I also saw one boat (Tokyo Highway) that makes the voyage in 2 days flat! Wow! Who do I have to pay to transfer to that one??

Eric B -- how do you figure out what cargo (other than your own MINI) is on any particular boat?

Eric B
Jan 16th, 2004, 07:35 PM
You can do a search by the booking number at the WW site and it lists all the cars on that booking number

Eric B
Jan 16th, 2004, 07:39 PM
Makes you wonder what route the DYVI PUEBLA takes????

AmRov
Jan 16th, 2004, 07:44 PM
I can't imagine what that boat is doing all that time in the water, but I found out 51 other MINI's are in the "same boat I'm in." Sounds like a light load; wonder what else is on board. Perhaps they do a little fishing on the way over! ;)

I keep hoping that Feb. 10 is a typo and they really mean Feb. 01!

Wish I was on your boat, Eric B, leaving the same day!!! *sigh*

Aaaaaaaaaaacccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkk!

The WW site says the Maersk Taiki has sailed but my cargo status says nothing about being loaded. I am still booked and received at terminal.

Something's funny. And still can't find the ship on the ocean tracking site. Perhaps a ghost ship...

Let's hope the vessel has sailed info is wrong. Maybe it is should be vessel has docked.

Now, I'm the one that's getting crazy about this. They know how to drive an expectant parent nuts.
