Aaaaaaaaaaacccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkk!

The WW site says the Maersk Taiki has sailed but my cargo status says nothing about being loaded. I am still booked and received at terminal.

Something's funny. And still can't find the ship on the ocean tracking site. Perhaps a ghost ship...

Mini Momma

When the Otello sailed, the status did not change to "LOADED ON VESSEL" until hours, maybe even not until the next day. If you are still booked on the Maersk Taiki, then you most likely are out to sea by now.

What is the call sign for Maersk Taiki?

It is indeed 9VIG. I check constanly on Otello, I will look for 9VIG as well.

Do you look on the observations posting page or just try to spot it on the ocean? Do you know what those red vs. blue markers signify?

I look on both and no I don't know what the red vs. blue markers are

I look at both, the observations to get the lat & long to plot on my own map (my wife says I am obsessive about this, but I think it is perfectly normal behaviour for a MINI parent waiting for the baby to get home). Sometimes it is hard to see on the Oceanweather map because of overlapping call signs.

Red are bouys, blue are ships.

Sigh. I'm not checking anymore until late tomorrow. Brodiea is missing in action.

Yep the Maersk Taiki spotted at 48 48' N 7 42' W at 0600 GMT Jan 18. But it did not transmit at 1200. Not that I care, I'm on the Otello. ;)

Go here: http://www.oceanweather.com/data/ and pick an area. Then go to the "marine observations" link. You can either scan the map or open the "observation table" link.

Our ship is the 9VIG

Well, after being told a couple of different production dates, I finally have a CONFIRMED date!!! My baby should be done on Monday, January 26th.

How long did you all wait from the time of completion to shipping out??? I don't know that I can wait any longer......

Re: time between completion and shipping --

For me, the good news was that my car shipped the very next day after it was completed (bad news? On the slowest boat ever!). I called Friday morning, and it was still in the paint shop. I called again that afternoon, and it was "released to carrier." I then went to the shipping site (check the FAQ's for all the scoop on how to track once it's on the ship), and entered my VIN, and found it was booked on the TYVI PUEBLA, etc. You can find all kinds of info from there.

Some people wait up to a week for the next ship; depends on schedules. You can also find schedules on the shipping site. Do a search by port, and you can find the vessels sailing from Southampton to wherever your boat is going (I'm in Texas, so my boat is going to Charleston).

Good luck!

My status was just updated in the owners lounge. My estimated delivery date is Jan 26. That just means that thats when it gets to the U.S. right? Because the ship I'm on, the Patriot, isn't supposed to get to South Carolina until the 26th. I'm a little confused. Any help would be appreciated :)

Ordered early Dec., went into scheduled for production early Jan, Sat night went to awaiting transport, and this afternoon showed up at WW shipping. Booked on the Carmen the 14th, ready to scan on the 18th, received at terminal the 19th. The Carmen is scheduled to arrive in Southhampton the 21st and then in NY on the 29th. Sounds like a fast ship!

Looks like early Feb. for my CR/W MCS. Ordered everything except nav, rear fogs and 17" wheels. I better start getting my '90 Miata ready for sale.

This tracking stuff is cool.

This information stuff is really cool IFF it is reliable. Now I'm getting confused. The WW site said Friday that my MINI was booked, received and scanned at the terminal. The boat I was booked on sailed Saturday. Now it's Monday, and none of the MINI's on board that ship (the TYVI PUEBLA) say "loaded." I called Ask-MINI and was told that all they have on my car is that it is being transported to the port of exit -- meaning, as far as they know, that it's not on a ship at all, but heading out to be loaded! And the Owner's Lounge just shows "awaiting transport," not actually on its way.

Anyone else face similar information conflict, only to have the car turn out to be actually on the original boat after all?

I couldn't wait anymore, my dealer had a EB/W MCS in the showroom that someone didn't pickup. Got a good deal on a trade-in and the rest of the deal came too. For the rest of you waiting I hope yours make it to you soon so you can know the joys of driving your Mini.

Yes it was, and it was scheduled for Charleston on Jan 26, but now it is Jan 28. Lots of headwind and running against the seas I guess.

Oh well, what's another excruciating two days anyway? :(

I decided not to freak out until after Tuesday, the first full U.S. business day. But, this has been frustrating.

Perhaps our babies bolted for the Queen Mary as it was going by...
