This is a gathering in the Nations Oldest City, St. Augustine Florida
The gathering will begin Friday March 12th and run through Sunday March 14th. I plan on having a group dinner, a party at a local British Pub with hopefully a few raffel items (more info later) and what ever fun we can come up with!
Charity Info: As most of you know I lost my infant daughter Ryen in December to a Congenital heart defect . We spent almost a whole month in Wolfson Children's Hospital and received unbelievable care from the Doctors and Nursing staff. In honor of those dedicated people and to help out other children in the same situation as my daughter was I'm asking that each attendee at the event donate what they can afford and I will pass this donation on to the hospital in Ryen's name. Feel free to give what you can, be it $5 or $500, every little bit helps.
Info about Wolfson's : Wolfson Children's Hospital (WCH) is a regional referral hospital serving children and is the only children's hospital in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.
Our staff and physicians believe children have special healthcare needs, and they cannot be treated as little adults. The hospital's facilities, equipment and staff are oriented toward children. A team approach that extends from physicians to nurses to technicians and the rest of the hospital staff creates a family-like atmosphere for patients, enhancing the care they receive. Our physicians are dedicated professionals in fields from virtually all medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties.
Wolfson Children's Hospital is the main pediatric teaching facility for the University of Florida/Jacksonville Pediatric Residency Training Program. Through a collaborative agreement, the institution provides University of Florida residents a comprehensive inpatient experience as well as additional educational opportunities in multiple pediatric subspecialties and research. Nemours Children's Clinic and Shands/Jacksonville also play an integral role in the pediatric residency program, allowing these young professionals the opportunity to be involved with a diverse patient mix and nationally renowned faculty. Wolfson Children's Hospital is proud of its affiliation with the University of Florida/Jacksonville.
Where to stay: :I've blocked off a set of rooms at a local hotel in St. Augustine. After driving around all Sunday and talking to hotels I found out that most hotels are already booked for this weekend so our selection was limited but hopefully I've found an acceptable place for everyone.
The hotel is the Sleep Inn
601 Anastasia Blvd
St Augustine Fl 32084
904-825-4535
Ask for the Sunshine MINIs group to get a $64.00 a night rate. The rooms our double occupancy, queen beds and no smoking can be requested. As of now I have 10 rooms set aside and they will hold these rooms for a couple of weeks so please go ahead and call and make your reservations!
Let's make this the warm up to the Dragon, come on out Sunshine MINIs and support a good cause and have fun doing it!
