If you feel someone's post is helpful and offer sound advice, then you may wish to express your aggreement with the poster by giving him/her a good rep.

On the other hand, if the post is flaming, too aggressive, derogatory, or down right unpleasant, then you may wish to inform the poster that you object to his/her post by giving him/her a bad rep.

High reputation SHOULD mean the poster is highly regarded within the MINI2 community

And you will note that the little green coloured dots are many on the two previous posts, which means they have high reputations hereabouts.

actually, I've been wondering about this, too.
I have a single, black square for my reputation rating.
Granted, I haven't had a ton of postings, but I think I have made relavent comments. However, given that I have a black square, I was wondering if somewhere along the line, did I say something that someone didn't like? Did I offend someone?

I'm a nice person, really. ;)

black square means you have disabled your reputation via your user control panel

<blush>
Okay - just figured it out, and enabled it again.

Thanks!

...and the more you collect, the more you can redeem for an engraved MINI2 Beaker Set
:)

When are MINI2 going to market a Box for the Beaker Collection ?

you will note that I have hardly any little green dots which basically equates to nobody is slightly the little bit interested in anything I say or do!

Cos I've been bad repped three times, and each time the comment is a "well done for etc" or other positive bit of feedback.

I like to think that they rep'ee simply pressed the wrong button, cos the Bee would refuse to start if I had a bad vibe going on

As Spycar says, you gotta be careful with that, it's powerful medicine indeed

Someone gave me a bad rep point (my one and only so far    ), but he gave a very good explanation as to why he did so - so I gave him a positive rep point for his honesty :)

I don't necessarily have to agree with someone's opinion to give them a positive point - as long as it's well argued and defended, they deserve some lurve too :D

I still don't understand..... All i know is that i had no green boxes, then i got one green box. Do i need to get a friend to become a member and give me some green boxes or do i have to tell everyone that i have a few bars in london and that the drinks are on me? Or do i shun the boxes and say that 'no boxes' are the new cool?

It's all a bit upsetting, i may even phone Trisha tomorrow. (Female Jerry, for the foriegners!)
