I ended up ordering my new Mini las Saturday and it was lucky i waited untill then as only that morning they got the announcement about the changes and there slots for late July. Personnally i love the Hyper Blue colour and the new Xenon lights and so am well pleased with the changes. I think most of the main dealers by now should be up on whats happening and should know whether there production slots are for the old or new model (with waiting lists i assume almost all slots will be for the new one unless theres drop outs).

OK folks, I'm ready to order a Cooper S but my head is still spinning from reading about all these 05 changes!!
So I have a few questions. Please forgive me if these have already been addressed in past posts.

1. Will all the July 1 changes shown on MINI.com apply to 05 USA MINI's?

2. When will MINI update MINIUSA.com? I sent an e-mail to miniusa and just got a
lame "stay-tuned" response?

3. Indi Blue will not be availible in 05. My saleman tells me they may replace it with
a very similar color? What do you know of this Paul?

4. Last but not least: When will pricing be announced for 05 models? The dollar to Euro
exchange is lousy. My salesman tells me this is the reason convertible pricing has not
been released.

Thanks in advance for the help. I want to place my order soon!!

Indi Blue is being dropped in favour of Black-Eyed Purple.

Isn't Indi being replaced with Hyper Blue? That'd be the color your dealer was talking about I would think.

Also, I just put up some comparison shots of particular new features here (http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpBB_14&file=index&action=viewtopic&topic=26472&forum=1&5), borrowed from various pictures I found here, on NAM, and on Motoring File.

Hyper Blue is S only, Indi Blue is being replaced across the range with Blackeye Purple.

lol... It's still hard to tell how blue or purple it's gonna look, the graphic on the convertible part of mini.com is quite purple, so is a small close-up photo on the mini.com site (the bit that alternates with Astro black), but the whole mini pic still looks quite blue... hey ho. I'll be able to tell you for definite on 6th August :D

My dealer explained the colour today. It's Black-Eyed Purple as in the kind of purple bruising you get when you get a black eye :D :)

Just been looking at the new colours on mini uk website and there doesn't seem to be the body colour roof option for Cooper and S :(

Why's that then? Is that a definate change or a mistake? I'd thought of an all black S when change time comes

It'll be a mistake. My Coop is coming with body colour roof and mirrors (new option for 05, except for black when body colour mirrors have always been available ;-)

My current coop is all black, and asl long as you love cleaning it it's a great looking colour. I just fancy a change!

Lots of different options coming out with the facelift car, e.g.

Electric Folding Mirrors ( very flash)
Anthracite Headlining (black roof inside)
CD Changer Prep as standard
Cooper S going up to 170BHP
Mirror Caps in body colour (optional)
Chrono Cockpit Pack and Chrome Line Interior moving over from Convertible to full MINI range
Cooper having more Torque due to uprated gearbox

And, although it's not very sexy (but it does save me £30) ISOFIX is standard. I believe it's also standard in the front passenger seat now, although my dealer couldn't tell if the airbag switch was standard or optional (doesn't matter, I think babies should be in the back anyway)

Passenger Airbag Deactivation is a £30 Option which covers all models

Minibrowsard & minirosa -
The MINI is generally a world spec car - so by and large all of the changes listed will appear in North America as well, starting in about August (July builds). There will be a few differences, as the UK trim levels (Pepper, Chili, etc) aren't used here - but the opptions are either standard already, or line-item available. Looks like you can even get the clear/white taillights as long as you put a red reflector on the bumper.

lespurgeon,
Thanks for the response.
I actually like most of the 05 changes; just unsure of what color to
spec. My dealer says if I order now the car will arrive in October. So, hopefully that will
give me enough time to see the new colors "in the flesh".
