: My Mini must not like me

I have decided that it is not meant to be between my Mini and me. I have been very patient with it since I have got it but it has let me down again! It has been back to the dealer no less than 12 times in 5 months(Not bad going!!) It spent three days in the garage last week on life support and I must say that they have fixed most of the faults it went in there for(Apart from the left pull and the squeaky seat!) but it has now come back with two more faults. The Alarm has now got a mind of its own, its sets when it wants to and go's off when it wants to. More worrying is the fact that four times today when I went to start the car it would not start. It took 4-5 turns of the key to get it to start. It looks like the Mini has going to make its 13th trip to the garage. This may be its last!!!!!!!!!:(

Have you seen this thread:-

May be you have this key-related glitch mentioned by Carol?

Not sure exactly what's she means - could it be something relating to the immobiliser?

Bit of a sad story. Stick with it Tim, you know it's only sulking because of whats going to happen in October.

Tim,

When was your car built?

Best of luck with its latest trip to the garage!

Just read this post having just PM'd you...go to Sewell and ask Shelley for special treatment...you won't care about the car after that..
Seriously tho, I'm starting to EXPECT my MINI to break on me...so far only heated seats wired back to front and a clock that mysteriously packed up a fortnight ago...good luck in getting it sorted - any legal advice needed, just ask. :)

Thanks guys for all the replys. Once again I am Mini less as it spends another night on life support. I have been speking to Sewells today about my options and it looks as if the Mini has won the battle. I think I am going to give it back. A few problems I could live with(Being a car salesman I would have of expected this), but now its just getting beyond a joke. I don't know what to do now, Do I give the car back and wait for the 's' to arrive or do I just go and buy something else?? What do you all think??
J.v I was speaking to Shelly today and she asked me what she could do to make up for the disappontment, (A few things went through my mind at that point I can tell you!!!!!)

What shall I do, Please help!!!
By the way dcfkan the car is an August Build

Say goodbye to it! Once you have lost confidence in the car, then I believe it would be better to cut your losses and run.

I love mine, and I believe the later built cars are more reliable. May be yours was a Friday lemon during a hot August day :(

I don't know much about the rejecting procedures, however, I am certain there are plenty people here who would be able to advise you on what to do. Good luck!

I am very sorry to hear that Tim - I don't blame you at all though mate. I would perhaps still go for the S though - quality is miles better now then it was.
Out of interest, what courtesy car have you got from them? Not a Micra I hope - at least an M3, M5 or Z8 for your trouble.
IF you do give up your place on the S list (and since I know you're thinking of Elises I wouldn't blame you) - I would be very interested to hear if you were able to sell it on...I MIGHT be very interested...but having said that, I would encourage you to keep the faith - the S sounds great to me, and a lot cheaper/more practical than an elise (though on a hot summer's day outside of Herts and Essex I would take the Elise every time)...
And as for shelly - I'm going to call her and complain about my broken clock, and see where that gets me...

JV, Tim,
Shelly you sure ? I work with her fiance and would rather have whatever you 2 are on about with him !
Standards !!!!
Sorry.

Still, may have got better service had they had the mereist inclination of selling MINIs. Their loss....
