: Sold My First MINI (no not mine)/New Brakes & Lines for ME! GMINI Mar 5th, 2004, 03:05 AM One Pepper White Cooper, Premium Package and CVT to my good friend in Westerly Rhode Island at whose home I crash on my way up North. Showed him the website last time i was there and he called tonight to ask if the non sport suspension was more car-like than mine. um Yeah! So there he goes. Off to New Country. (couldn't get him to Peabody - too far.) AprilWhine Mar 5th, 2004, 09:03 AM Scared me there, John! I thought you meant you sold yours! :) obehave Mar 5th, 2004, 12:51 PM Cool. Make sure you teach him that he has to wave. I've been getting dissed by new MINI owners lately :(
Funny the first 2 responses are from Virginians :) CurtP Mar 5th, 2004, 01:13 PM Last three :D
I've been pretty fortunate - almost all MINI owners have been waving at me.
Title threw me off too - I thought John sold his too. GMINI Mar 5th, 2004, 02:50 PM Will Edit
So Yanks know what the title means - and don't care. Virginians fear the worst and express concern. Something like that.
Thanks fellers. :)
It's going to be tough getting this (not me) workaholic to MOT. pbraun Mar 5th, 2004, 07:28 PM Watzamatta with MINI of Fairfield County? OK, nevermind...... but we do have only a 2 month, or less waiting period on custom orders, plus a ton of cars in stock !
<[unabased plug].> whatever. :wone: GMINI Mar 6th, 2004, 01:22 AM nevermind ;) jcsinnh Mar 6th, 2004, 08:43 AM My understanding is that the next MINI dealership in NE will be in............Rhode Island
But, of course, you didn't REALLY send him to the closest dealer, now did you? Had you done so, well friends do come along now and then...you'd make another, someday GMINI Mar 6th, 2004, 09:14 AM What the heck, JC? I'm liek, kinda confused now.
But I understand one phrase. where in RI will this next dealership be, and most importantly, when will it open up? Or are you just guessing???
off to waste a few clicks at miniusa.com. GMINI Mar 6th, 2004, 09:16 AM to no avail. Propaganda meister. jcsinnh Mar 6th, 2004, 09:19 AM Well, Herb, I guess I can't help you GMINI Mar 6th, 2004, 09:24 AM Oh - I did order him NEVER to go there. But seriously - Hartford is closer to Westerly, RI, than Boston is anyway... by his book. GMINI Mar 6th, 2004, 09:25 AM I'm going to bed and you're just waking my man. How the world is. 9:30am though it's rise and shine to get new pads, rotors and stainless brakelines. mmmmmm. pbraun Mar 6th, 2004, 01:28 PM Nice !......what ya gettin? GMINI Mar 6th, 2004, 01:33 PM Just the stocks I coulda gotten with my Service Plan 600 miles ago if I had any confidence they had any chance of meeting their replacement standards.... oh. wait. EBC Greenstuff front and Mintex rear. I've had it sworn to me, by someone with money to be made, that the stock setup has no need whatsoever for crossdrill or slotted rotors. GMINI Mar 7th, 2004, 12:07 AM Ended up getting crossdrilled Zimmerbach rotors or some such brand supposedly common to Porsche but heretofore unheard of by me. Not psyched about crossdrilled - but it wiill LOOK better... Distributor screw up. Bedding tonight. Do NOT tailgate. Windshadow Mar 7th, 2004, 02:10 AM The folks at BMW Foreign Motors West in Natick seemed to be quite confident that they would be selling the MINI by this Fall
What is the criteria for awarding a MINI dealership? it can not be too selective if they accept the likes of H.C. or the price gouging Southern Cal dealers GMINI Mar 7th, 2004, 02:16 AM Dealerships are a franchise. No award at all, as far I know. Just money and real estate independent of the BMW storefront. All hail the almighty dollar. GMINI Mar 7th, 2004, 06:16 PM Hope all the would-be snow-tubers are having a blast today!
Last night bedded the brakes. Should have brought a stopwatch. 90-0 in ? seconds? GMINI Mar 7th, 2004, 07:58 PM um. unpredictable screaching. Rather unbecoming such a small car. GMINI like. GBMINI Mar 8th, 2004, 12:45 PM Green stuff pads, G?
I had squealing after I "upgraded" - mostly on gentle braking; really hard braking I guess clamped them enough to shut them up.
Got the "anti squeal kit" (some rubber bits) and had MOP put it on (they did the original pads).
Thinking I might junk the green stuff and go back to stock - I think the stock stopped better! GMINI Mar 8th, 2004, 03:00 PM We'll see. They have a better bite but the midrange is suffering so far. Zimmerman crossdriled rotors. | |
