Sounds great, everyone and congrats on being united with your MINI's. I can;t wait till I get mine, Would love to see pics from all of you, Mine still says its recieved at terminal, yet the boat is was booked on left 2 days ago, so i don;t know if I am on there or not. Trying to find out. It also says its in waitlist status, so i guess I will play the waiting game some more. Talk to you all soon, and have fun with your MINI's

D'oh!

Never know, they just may not have gotten around to updating your status....

For those of you on the Aida, due into NYC this Thursday, the Oceanwatch site is doing a nice job of tracking her. It looks like she is well over half way here, and the WW site still shows her on schedule.

Talked to MA today, and he is estimating that "Amelia" will be at his doorstep on May 14th!

That's at least 3 weeks earlier than I counted on. I would be happy just to have her before the long Memorial day weekend.

Now if they only decided to started putting an MP3 capable HK radio in a few months early...... Naw, that would be too much to wish for.

Congrats to all those who have taken delivery, and a big hello to my fellow shipmates. :D

Hi All,
Just got a call from the dealer today, MY MCS IS AT THE DEALER!!! :D :D :D :D
The wifes MCS should be right behind in a day or two. Boy will she be P.I.S.S.E.D.
that mine has come in first, after all we did originaly go out to just buy one for her.

Well after all; my MCS needs some time to have the JCW installed.... Looks like real soon we will have to hire a limo to take us to the dealer to pick up our new babies!!

WOW; what a trip, how often do we get to see two MCS on the road one right after the other?

WOOHOO!!!!! Congratulations! I'd be p*s*ed, too! :p So now why didn't she get the JCW and all the goodies, too? But that's WONDERFUL news! Congratulations! Remember to take a camera! And I LOVE the idea of hiring a limo to go pick up your babies. Classic!!!

Doooh I'm so jealous. We're supposed to be an April build, but my dealer can't give me a VIN or an ETA. The salesman assures me she's been built but assurances don't give me a warm fuzzy feeling.

David,

Point Blank... Your dealer is jerking you around if they say your car is built but they do not have a vin. Reports are perpetually sent to the dealership and if the car is built then they HAVE A VIN.. If the car has not been built but order has been placed then they have a production number.

My dealership called me to tell me my car was assigned a production date and production # BEFORE the car was built..

Ask for the Manager and tell them that you need assistance. Tell the manager you are being told your car was built and if that is true you want your production # or your VIN which MINIUSA told you the dealership could provide.. Tell the manager that you want to track your MINI in the Owners Lounge like other customers.

https://ol.miniusa.com/oe/home.asp?login=true?&referer=/oemainlogin.asp

Let us know what happens...

Craig

I'll second that. Your dealer must be getting build reports. It's the only way they can track their orders and allotment. And the sales manager should be able to look you up live on the computer as well.

Craig I agree. The sales rep is jerking me.

When I get past month end stuff I'll escalate this to the manager.

Unfortunately, the MINIUSA Owners Lounge won't help me north of the 49th parallel. The MINI Canada site doesn't have a similar facility.

Thanks for you comments.

David,
Pocket_rocket is correct in his statement. You are being jerked around. Maybe they are just waiting for a car that they have pre-order for the dealership that may fit what you want? I any case no production number = no order at the plant.

Sorry Dude

My mini did not make it onto the Takasago even though that was the ship it was booked for :(, however the WW site updated this morning and I am now booked for the Don Pasquale, which parts southampton tomorrow, and gets to New York on the 13, only three days later than the Takasago would have, I really hope I actually make it on this ship, and dont get bumped again. For all of those who have taken delivery CONGRATS, and happy motoring, and for those who will be soon, have fun. ill keel everyone updated. Ciao

Update for me:

The mignon is due to arrive in South Africa on the 6th - tomorrow for me, but its about 6 or so hours behind there, so it could be Friday morning...

Ive checked the South African ports website, and the Mignon is still holding its schedule. Then its onto Fremantle... :D

Hi All!

I'm curious to know if anyones's "estimated delivery date" from the owners lounge is holding true?
My PW/B Cooper is estimated to be at the dealer on 5/7, but I'll believe it when I get the call. :)

Thanks!
SGT P.

I ordered on the 13 of Feb. I got an April build. Dealer told me a last week of June/first week of July delivery.

Very fortunately, I got a good build - transport and shipping schedule, and my car is on its way to Australia now. Due into Sydney on the 26th of this month. So I should have the car by the end of second week June.

2 weeks early if you cant be bothered reading all that (barring the unforseen) :p

Ok everyone.. here are pics from the delivery room... have not had much seat time yet because it was late when I left the dealership and I had to be in early this morning for a meeting.

Hope to see plenty of pics when each of yours come in too..

Big smiles here and enjoying every minute I can in the car.. Looking forward to this weekend so I can wash it and make it "younique" as the billboard says with all the stuff I had waiting. Nothing performance wise yet .. but there are plans.... ;) ;) ;)

Very nice Pocket!

Glad to see you picked the white wheels.

I have put 300 miles on my car this week! I have cleaned the wheels twice. Once right after the purchase due to the rain. The 2nd time was to put a coat of Maguiars NXT on them.

Happy motoring! :indi:

Best to all,

The Aida left Southampton on the 28th as scheduled, with mine, and 238 others aboard. I have been tracking her across the pond, and as of last night, she was off the East Coast.

This morning, she was off the map, so I was hoping that meant she was in dock.

I have been checking the WW site all day, and none of the 239 have been off loaded.

During loading in the UK, the site was updated by the minute, you could see what cars were loaded in what order.

Has anyone else (who already has their car) watched the WW site for their car/ship? Does the WW site take longer to update from this side of the Atlantic?

I'll keep checking through the night, but it sure would be nice to know she was on solid ground again.

And this time the WW site shows that it is still due into NY today, departs today, then a new line has been added showing it arriving at NY tomorrow, and then leaving tomorrow.

Does this new line showing an additional arrival for tomorrow just mean that the arrival has been delayed by one day?

That's my guess, but I am hoping for an experienced opinion.

I have a similar dilemma. Mine was due into Port Elizabeth in South Africa this morning.

Checked the WW site when I got up, and bang! The Port Elizabeth line has disappeared from the tracking screen

What does this mean? Is my ship late, and theyre waiting for it? Anyone know?

Yeah, I just saw that too! :( My Cooper is one of your 238 shipmates. I was disappointed that there is yet another delay. Wonder what the chances are of a quick trip through the center and getting on a truck out of there in a couple of days......My dealer said things have been going quickly but sometimes I think they just say what you want to hear.......

Hey JL, what is your expected delivery date?

in the OL, it say 5/12/04, but my dealer estimated 5/14/04. Wonder if this will change their estimates?
