Hey Guys,
New to the Mini2 Forums. My Dealer told me to check it out. My Blk/Blk MCS has been at the dock in Southhampton since 4/6 destination South Carolina. Anybody else got a loved one on the Independence?

Welcome to MINI2 Astropup!

I'm waiting for a blk/blk MCS too... Spoke to the dealer today - should be here any day!! Pulling my hair out with excitement, ordered it on Jan 26th and now have only days to go.... :D :D :D

My dealer is CenturyMini in Greenville, SC just 20 minutes from the Mini check-in at the BMW plant.

Hey gang!

If you were fortunate enough to get loaded onto the Independence, she left Southhampton for Halifax NS yesterday.

Here is a really cool link if you're interested in knowing where your baby is since last call in of weather report.

http://www.oceanweather.com/data/

The Independence call sign is WRYG. If you click on the north atlantic big box...then click on Marine Observations (notice the call sign WRYG just south west of the southern tip of UK.) You can follow her all the way across the pond. Pretty cool huh? Hope its warm on the ship!

Christina!!! I was wondering if you would see this message and where yours was. Congrats!! I am getting the shopping urge to go buy all new cleaning stuff and some more accessories for him.. I have a bunch of stuff already but nothing big..

How about you? Any gifts for the new family member yet??

C~

Hi, Craig -

As far as the shopping, yes, I've been doing a little bit so far... I have my Whalen (Wings #2 design), and black leather shift boot and e-brake boot. next on the list are an outdoor car cover, cubby box or pouch, and probably boot box. Then, maybe a Euro parcel shelf and a glove box organizer, we'll see... but I am noticing that while my current car (Saab 9-3 Viggen) is much larger, it really doesn't have a ton of places to stash things in the cockpit area, so maybe I won't feel the need to add the parcel shelf.

Happy waiting! :)

Christina

Okay, so I've given this a go and didn't get past the Owner's Lounge registration process. Apparently my production number did not match any details on their database. My production number is a 7 digit number, does that sound right?

Im from the UK and tried doing that on the US website too and had no luck either. I think the car has to be ordered form the US for it to work.

I spoke to the dealer today, and they had some unexpected news for me... My Mini was supposed to arrive with them on April 30th, but apparently it's now down to be there on April 23rd!!! :D. I just wish I didn't have to wait an extra week or so for the dealer prep! Now, I need to draw up a list of tunes to burn on to CD for that first drive...

Dave.

Craig - Have you tracked Blitzen lately? I just went to the WW site and found out my MINI has been switched from the Jingu Maru to the Hual Triton, which departed TODAY from Southampton, and is scheduled to arrive in New York on 4/21, saving almost a week! I am hoping that Blitzen made the switch, too... Anyone else on the Hual Triton?

Cheers,
Christina

Nightmare that's terrible! You need to get your insurance doc sorted out way in advance. I've had my cover note for 2 weeks!!

Just got word that "Hagrid" (yes WannaMini I too chose a character from Harry Potter) was received at the Southampton Terminal today. It has been scheduled to board the Maersk Teal for the departure date of 4/20/04 to arrive in New York on 4/28/04. Won't be to long now. The dealer will still need time to install the JCW but once it's done I'll be Flying....... :D :D :D :D

I imagine my MCS/brg will be joining yours as its just finished its production process yesterday. Have you had any luck tracking yours on the Maersk site?

Since estimated production dates have been know to ping-pong, it's probably less stressful to wait until your MINI has been assigned a VIN number and has started production. Then you can click Auto at WW Cargo Tracking and use your MINI's entire 17 digits (alphanumeric) VIN as the Cargo ID (it used to work with only the last 7 characters of the VIN). Tracking will display a Cargo Status History, showing your MINI as one or more of the following: http://213.31.205.37/GLWebApps.AppTracking

Thankfully (for my nerves) my mini has had its VIN since 4/4 and has progressed through the paint shop and final assembly. This morning it was awaiting transport, so depending on how many minis make up a trainload...must be a lot... it might be on its way to the docks by now. Of course that conclusion is somewhat speculative on my part.

I can use my booking number to see if your mini has been booked on the same ship. all I need is your vin. :)

For some reason the WW site doesn't work well with my OS 10 Apple Safari browser. (For you Mac experts out there I also tried changing the user agents in the debug mode of Safari to no avail) I've had to call up my ancient netscape 6 browser in mac classic os9 mode to get it to work and then I still get various errors about 2/3's of the time. Next I tried typing the VIN into the Maersk web site (which works very nicely) but comes up empty. You can give it a shot if you like: WMWRE33494TD86771

Hi. I've been lurking around this message board for a week. This is my first post. Found out production started on my Chili Red Cooper today - to be completed April 23rd! (Ordered 3/27) Hopefully she'll be making the trip across the pond shortly afterwards!

Mine's supposed to be done 4/19, but still not on the shipping site either. Calling ASK MINI hasn't helped--there's been no status update since production started. :(

It's more than a week. If yours is week 17 (like mine), it must have started production around 6 April (like mine). Fingers crossed that things are on schedule! I heard there was some kind of delay of shipping cars out due to a hazmat situation, but I don't know if it affected production.

I am so psyched!!! My LY/MCS is "awaiting transport" now!!! I hadn't checked (out of brevity) in a few days and read above about someone ordering on the 27th and it is shipping. Well, I ordered on 19.03.04 and w00t it's shipping!!!!

:D :yellow:  :yellow:  :yellow: :D

By the way mate -- it works for me in Safari on OSX (the mothership).
The front page did not but go ahead and click the link "tracking" and it will take you to a different page where it seems to work fine.

BTW: are we looking to track a "container number", "bill of lading number", or "booking number"?

Ahh okay. My dealer told me week 17, but defintiely stated production would start on April 19. ??? So how long does it take to build one of these suckers then?
