Hello all planning on attending the Dragon in April/May:

Clover and I are pleased to invite you to a Chili Cook-off and party.

TIME: 6pm
PLACE: Dam Room in the Rec Center at the Fontana
PURPOSE: To have fun and compete for the BEST Chili honors
RSVP: Please let us know you are planning on attending. If you are entering a chili, you will be ask to register through NAM's storefront in the upcoming days (I'll let you know when it is up and running).
WHAT TO BRING: If you aren't bringing a chili to enter, please bring either a salad or a dessert. Please see the list below to see what is being brought so we don't wind up with 400 desserts and 1 salad. Please note, if I'm wrong about what you are bringing, let me know so I can update it.

I'll be entering a Chili as well. Just let us know closer to the event how many people we need to brew this up for :-) I can use all the extra gas for the Midnight Dragon Run!

MIchael and I will be there. I can't cook anything worth eating. What else needs to be brought that I could bring?

Queen B and hotelcalif will eat chili but not cook it. We will bring somethink to accompany.

Count us in for the festivities on Friday night (we're staying at the Fontana, so location is very appealing to us).

We would be more than happy to bring some chili. I'll bring enough chili for around 10 people.

Be warned - I don't consider it chili unless you sweat while eating.

I'll be there. I'm staying at Fontana also, so it'll be close to home. I'm sure NO ONE wants me to be cooking anything, so maybe I could bring a bag o'salad, salad dressing and maybe a dessert.

I'll be happy to bring some Texas-style chili, (no beans). I have a 4-1/2 quart crock pot that I can fill, (I assume that there will be a nearby power source). :eb: :p

Is this going to be sort of a block party? Or are you guys staying at the actual main building part? (I haven't been there, just looked at the layout online) If it's going to be a block party type thing, I rented one of the little cabins, and I don't know how far apart they are, but I could bring an extension cord if need be. (anything if I don't have to cook :D )

There's a power source in your boot, if you have a 2002. That's what I'm using for my crock.

Oh I don't doubt that. My concern is that if I'm getting the reputation as the "armpit guy" well... it's not that flattering.... I was going for laughs, not to be known as "armpit guy!" :D

OK, Cook-off information to help people decide what to do.

1. Yes, Clover and Babs are staying in the cabins at the Fontana. We are in the older 2 bedroom ones. However, because of a bird watching group and the potential noise level from a party of 100+ mini owners we have gotten the Fontana to give us a room instead of the block party concept.

2. The room has electric. I'm working on making sure everyone who enters gets power. If you will be needing more than one outlet, please PM me...so I can accomodate.

3. I am keeping a list of what people are signing up to bring. Soon, you will see this information in the first post.

4. The cabins at the Fontana have full kitchen facilities.

I'm sure there's an excellent and entertaining story behind the whole "armpit" thing, and I'm sure if I knew it, everything would make perfect sense to me. :) I can't wait to meet YOU guys! :D
