: clubMINI goes to the snow kenhenry Jun 28th, 2004, 09:40 PM Klint,
Glad to see you have a sense of humour and didn't take offence to my dig. ;)
I am sure there are many MINI2ers over here who would be happy to show you 'round the slopes if you ever made the trip.
It's a totally different ski experience to Europe or America. I still prefer Lake Tahoe and Whistler, but skiing halfway 'round the world each year can get a bit expensive, so I am glad that we have our own slopes to keep up the practice on between OS trips.
We will be posting pics on our return. robbo mcs Jun 29th, 2004, 10:14 AM Hi KenHenry and Swamos,
Things are looking good :D Perisher had 48 lifts open today, with around 95% of the mouhtain skiable ;)
Bring it on :D :D :D

Must admit, the snow cover on the Perisher Blue snow cams is the best I've seen this early in the season. It if it stays as it is, or improves over the next 4 weeks, there are going to be a lot of air happening over the back of Perisher.:D ashleywool Jul 1st, 2004, 08:12 AM woooo hoooo just had a look at the snow cams!!!! looks great ,im starting to get excited already AussieMini Jul 3rd, 2004, 09:05 PM Yaaaaay.... You sold your Camry yet? swamos Jul 3rd, 2004, 09:08 PM You sold your Camry yet?
No, but it's nice and clean now :) Why aren't you buying it for a family car??
The snow is going to be huge :) Ken H, cjay and myself talked a lotus friend of mine into coming to the snow last night. What a great start to the season. There is still a spare room :D :D AussieMini Jul 3rd, 2004, 09:14 PM No, but it's nice and clean now :) Why aren't you buying it for a family car??

Would absolutely love to come down but my wife's now 40.5 weeks pregnant who knows how well it'll all pan out over the next few days. Hopefully very well though.
I am just resigned to the fact it'll be NZ next year. gazah Jul 3rd, 2004, 11:26 PM Would absolutely love to come down but my wife's now 40.5 weeks pregnant
good luck with the coming days danny :D AussieMini Jul 4th, 2004, 12:36 AM good luck with the coming days aussiemini :D
Thanks Gazzah :D ,
This is our first child so I think life'll be a little different very soon.
But looking forward to it. :) gazah Jul 4th, 2004, 01:19 AM leigh's currently 22 weeks, so we're hot on your tail :)... once again, GOOD LUCK & ENJOY! :D jasemini Jul 6th, 2004, 03:18 AM They're touting this year as the best start to any season in 25 years. My stepmother and younger brothers are skiing Perisher today and are having a ball, got about 4 inches last night and it's still snowing today and the snow is very dry which is a good thing for this time of the year. I am very jealous of you all, especially seeing it was me who in the very beggining suggested a MINI ski trip.
:(:( instead of carving up some sweet turns I am bound to visit my sister in law in Perth :(:( I will certainly have to use food and wine whilst I'm in the Margaret River as an emotional crutch to compensate for not being allowed to go skiing. I have however been promised a ski holiday next year, perhaps I'll have to investigate Canada :):):) Have fun guys as I'm sure you will. robbo mcs Jul 6th, 2004, 09:05 AM They're touting this year as the best start to any season in 25 years. Hi,
Katie, my ski-freak daughter and Maxine, my better half are down at the snow this week. They are so lucky :D I'm stuck at home, earning the money to pay for the trip  I spoke to them this evening, and they were raving about the snow conditions :D
The mini ski week is going to be awesome :D :D :D

Ann hired Charlize a little suit, and bought her some gloves and booties. Very cute :) kenhenry Jul 6th, 2004, 09:38 AM The mini ski week is going to be awesome :D :D :D
RobboFive rooms - one MINI :(
What has this crazy world come to
I'll be proud to be the one waving the only MINI flag :D
Last year, I lost Black Betty for 2 days. She looked like a snowball :)
All I could see was her delicate bee-sting aerial. What better place to put the MINI flag :p robbo mcs Jul 6th, 2004, 10:03 AM Five rooms - one MINI :(

Hi,
I was just reading the latest "motor" magazine, which has an article about the virtues of snow/ice driver training :D :D :D Can we all borrow "Black Betty" for a bit of driver training around smiggins car park

Well I am pretty much in the same boat as you Jase. Kel's now six days overdue and, for me, there's no snow this year.
I am sure Perth will be just as fun for you though... NNNOOOTTT
It's sort of like going to a dealer to buy an M3CSL and coming home with a Daewoo Matiz!!!     hehehehehe jasemini Jul 6th, 2004, 11:10 PM Well perhaps not that bad mate, perhaps more like going home with a 318sport. I am indeed a lover of fine red wines and have been known to be pretty good on the tooth so I should do pretty well in Perth and The Margaret River, but as much as I try and make myself feel good about going to visit family I RATHER BE SKIING :(:(:(:( wah, wah, wah. I hope Kell drops soon mate, I was really looking forward to that head wetting on Saturday night :):) swamos Jul 7th, 2004, 02:12 AM AussieMINI, maybe you need to take her out and give her a good fright or two in the MINI to start things moving  Or alternatively, just walk her up and down some stairs :) jasemini Jul 7th, 2004, 07:04 AM Danny just called me and said he's on the way home as her water has just broken  I'd be driving Kelli to hospital the Hyundai I reckon. Maybe that's why I have no desire to have children, it's all just too messy until they're at least 20 and out of home :):):) People often say to my wife and I "don't you feel incomplete or like something is missing by not having kids?" to which I usually reply "no, don't you feel you are missing out on something by not drinking nice wine, watching a big TV, driving a nice car and sleeping throughout the night?" Horses for courses I gues. I do like kids but I couldn't eat a whole one!!:) :) Good Luck Danny & Kelli and let's all hope that the baby looks nothing like Danny or other kids will point and laugh alot. swamos Jul 7th, 2004, 08:40 AM Well, bugger me, over a metre of snow already ...
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Check the snowcam (http://www.ski.com.au/snowcams/perisher3.html) jasemini Jul 8th, 2004, 12:01 AM Yeah, saw the report on the Today show this morning and it's still snowing......AAAARRRRGGGHHHH damn relatives in Perth!!!! Why can't we go and visit my sister in Canberra?????You watch, next years ski season when I'm allowed to go will be the worst on record. kenhenry Jul 8th, 2004, 08:04 AM Yeah, saw the report on the Today show this morning and it's still snowing......AAAARRRRGGGHHHHDo you want the really bad news, Jase?
Forecast is for continuing snow for another week, then massive snowfalls (with possible blizzards) for the last the last 2 weeks of July, then clear days with night time falls for at least the first 2 weeks of August. :(
And people question whether there is a God.
Roll on August 1. :D swamos Jul 8th, 2004, 12:18 PM Can I just say again how excited I am about all of this :) :) jasemini Jul 8th, 2004, 11:06 PM well.....the wines in Margaret River are some of the best in the world! and there's some fantastic restaurants in Perth and and the city is so close to the beach :(:( who gives a toss, I'm just trying to make myself feel better about missing perhaps one of the best ski seasons on record!!!!
Hey Ken do you still need a roomy and travelling partner? Maybe there's someway I can talk my wife into letting me send her other sister along with her to Perth whilst I go skiing :):):) kenhenry Jul 9th, 2004, 07:17 AM Hey Ken do you still need a roomy and travelling partner? Sorry Jase. Ashley Wool is my new partner in crime.
But, I am sure your wonderful wife would let you stay at home with Danny and the new baby, so that Kelly could go to Perth. I am certain Kelly could do with a drink after 9 months.
Don't the words 'Danny' and 'baby' sound scary when used in the same sentence. mignon Jul 10th, 2004, 09:01 AM Can I just say again how excited I am about all of this :) :)
"always in moderation" huh? ;) :p :D
can i say just once, how envious i am of you all, taking off to play in the snow?! oh well, maybe next year ...that would be  mignon Jul 10th, 2004, 09:05 AM Becoming massively excited :)

Yeah!!! even the photos of Danny and his new son are a little scary, I'm sure the child's first words will be "G'day :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad: " and he'll blurt it out in front of everyone at the Church Picnic. :) :) | |
