Robbo,

Katie is a real cutie. I can say that now, but after the way you have described her skiing ability, we will be probably calling her a lot of other things by the time the week is up

To all other MINI skiers, Ashley has just confirmed the second XBox for the trip, so there will definitely be some ultra-competitive Apres Ski MINI racing going on. :D

Hey Robbo, I bet it was the money that took it away from Smiggins :(

What could whistler possibly offer that Smiggins couldn't !!   :(

Liam,

BTW, if any of the Canberra crowd are interested, I will do a demo of the the new RUD Centrax snow chains.

These are great, they don't touch the wheel, tyre side wall or struts, and only take 30 seconds each side to put on.

They have models for all vehicles, so if you no anyone that has expensive rims, low profile tyres and no room to the struts, they may like to take a look also.

Ken

One of our intrepid clubMINI skiers, m1n130 has had to pull out, so now there is a Studio Apartment available on the ski trip.

I don't think I have to tell anyone that this is the best season in 25 years!! If you are interested in hitting the powder, phone Rob on 0413 700 772. :D :D

Liam,

MINI Air - the only way to fly to the snow.

Black Betty is snow ready. The new Mont Blanc racks are on, 17s are off, and the runflats are back on the 5 spokes ready for the chains.

I think I'll give the intercooler spray a rest though, don't think a big block of ice under bonnet will actually make a difference with the ambient temps you've had down that way.

LOL ... our ambient temps are just right for superchargers. ;) :D :p

I have no idea how to fit all this stuff in our station wagon, let alone how we'd do it in the MINI

Last day of work today. Tomorrow is packing :) :)

Hi,

Only 4 more sleeps for most of us ;)

For Swamos, thats probably more like 20 sleeps, sleep, wake up, feed child, sleep, wake up, feed child etc, etc :D

The snow reports still look good :)

Don't jinx us now, Robbo - maybe we should go into radio silence on the snow reports until after we have enjoyed the bumper season :D

Hi,

We had an absolute blast in the snow :D

It was great to meet up with the Queenslanders ;) As usual, fellow mini drivers turned out to be great people. Thanks to KenHenry, Ashley Wool and Swamos (Steve, Ann and Charlize) for making it such a fun week ;)

The accomodation was great, the snow sensational, with 100cm falling while we were there. We all enjoyed skiing. Particular thanks to Ken for keeping us entertained with his daredevil antics including enormous jumps, which often ended up in huge "Ken moments". Fortunately there only minor bruises all round, with no serious injuries.

Thanks to Ken for actually braving the deep snow in his mini :D

Strangely enough, when I got home I found I had more pictures of minis than skiing or scenic photos ;)

Here are some samples of Ken's car, Black Betty

Cheers

Robbo

Hi all,

There are more pics to come. Robbo's great pics were taken a little earlier in the week. Ashley took some on Friday morning, before we dug Black Betty out. There was a good couple of inches on the roof as well.

And yes folks, there will be another trip next year. It will not be a "club" trip, it will be a "MINI" trip. All MINIs will be welcomed.

Don't worry though, if you don't want your prized MINI to look like an advertisement for "Head and Shoulders" anti-dandruff shampoo, long-term parking is available at the Ski Tube terminal, below the snowline.

The trip will be the same week next year. Hope some our new friends can make it.

Here are some samples of Ken's car, Black Betty Despite Robbo's pics, Black Betty being inbedded in the snow bank was not a "Ken Moment" :D , she was actually parked in the open on Sunday afternoon. This just goes to prove Robbo's claim of a metre of snow in the 5 nights we were there.

To clean up an old joke :

They say snow is like sex - you never know how often you are going to get it, and when you do, how long it's going to last ;)

After the week just gone, I might just have to take up smoking after skiing :D
