see this thread http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61022

I have been looking at intakes all day and all the info is spread out all over the place and i am having trouble putting all the information together and making the best decision. I did a search for cold air intakes and i didn't see anything that looked like what i was looking for, all the ones i found seemed to be short ram intakes. Then i thought that since the MCS has the hood scoop that you would not need a cold air intake with a longer tube because the cold air is coming over the top of the engine. I saw this intake online http://www.mini-madness.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=9 and i thought it looked pretty good, any thoughts?

On that website i also saw the cowl vent for the intake just wondering if anyone else had heard about anything like this. i thought that i can also get a intake with a heat plate and order the cowl vent and it would increase efffectiveness, so if you have any input i would really appreciate it.

I have tried using the search feature and i didn't have any luck i don't know if i was using it the right way i am new to these forums, so if anyone has any inputs i would really appreciate it.

well i went down to some racing shops. and they all told me an cold air intake kit is the best for the cooper, but when then the weather is warm it wil takes hot hair in. so the best filter would be the carbon air filter from BMC. and the sound is a little diffrent then a cold air intake filter.

i k&n typhoon kit is delivered today. or tomorrow and will be placed i will place a little movie or sound clip

Thanks argonneke (http://www.mini2.com/forum/member.php?u=20103)

I was curious with different model numbers that showed various lengths of hoses, and was wondering which length would be the optimum one.
