on my way home from UP...i was driving up the katipunan flyover when i heard an all too familiar sound...the sound of something grinding and shredding from the engine bay...i pulled over...and guess what...DUROG NANAMAN ALTERNATOR BELT KO!!! :angry: :angry: :angry: waited for 20 mins for AAP to arrive at the flyover (nagpaka-MMDA ako sa flyover, waving to motorists to avoid my Mini)...called up Ernie (ERL) about it...said to have the Mini towed to ERL...so that's what i did.

if my Mini isn't up and running by thursday or friday...i'm no longer joining the car show at The Fort. and when it IS finished...this is just enough for me to want to give up the Mini :(

Search for MTH in the forums, they email the modified file to you and you upload it via a laptop and a OBD cable. Van already has the cable, maybe he could lend it to you. Other than that, you would have to physically bring your ECU to where it is to remapped (GIAC, Evotech, etc.) All other OBD/Plug in type ECU mods are worthless I think.

By the way, I decided not to get the wheels, as masmaganda talaga yun G-games. I would be losing a lot of money if I sold them and bought the BBS. Actually, the only reason why I wanted to change them was because I wanted euro wheels to go with the euro car even though I am happy with the set I have now.

UPDATE ON MY MINI: well...it's up & running again. they didn't find anything wront with the pulleys or anything...they suggested that maybe the belt was too tight...since Top Gear was the one who was able to fit the pulley, i'm guessing they were the one's who put the belt in. tsk tsk. bwiset!!! will bring the belt to our next EB for your observations :D

Guys, I'm back.....with NOTHING!

MaxMotorsports had the H&R sway bars, but was selling them as a set. When Van said he wanted the rear set only, that totally threw me off thinking that is was not worth getting the whole set (pesos35k) . Coupled with John's call that reminded me that it was LONG and difficult to install it:aargh: :aargh: :aargh: I dropped that from my lists.

Macky's parts are not available from Max. Performance parts lang. Van's Front strut bar na JCW is NOT available. They also did not have on stock the model I had. What they had was an ugly looking one, cheap pa. I bought mine last year for 26k, the one selling was less than 10k....yikes.

John's side mirror caps took a round trip. they did not want to buy it or swap it. John also changed his mind on the 6k fin. (800hk.) I found my way to the BMW lifestyle shop..........whew...:frown: :frown: layo pala noon!!! I checked out his hood stripes, Only to find out they needed 2 days to deliver it!!!

Sa gabi siguro, but baka late pa ako puwede. Ikaw? Let me know about the G-games. By the way, weighed the G-games, they are only 17.6lbs., considering how heavy they look. Mabigat pa yung BBS ko weighing in at 19lbs. If you get it, I'm sure you'll feel the improvement in acceleration and braking distance compared to the HEAVY S-lites. Just let me know.

do you know if you have sports suspension plus? i have it on my mcs. i did some researching and it came out that the rear sway bars for that are 17mm. the h&r comes in 18mm so it would be the same, 1mm i think would not matter except when you go 19mm which alta has. kaya k lang na we did not get.

All MCS's have sport suspension plus. I think the advantage of having aftremarket rear sway bars is that they are adjustable. You can set them to stiffer settings for canyon runs and track days. You can also set it to the stiffer position on the street at the expense of comfort.

there were about 180+ cars that joined the show, you should've seen the car clubs there, the Vios club took up almost half of the parking lot in front of MC Depot! there were awards for the best Toyota, best Mitsu, best Nissan...it must've been crap for the judges to judge all those cars.

i joined 3 categories: Best European, Best Audio Install, Best in Sound Quality. Here are the results:

BEST EURO:
1st place: new Beetle (silver, CF hood & rear wing, bodykit, OZ rims)
2nd place: Benz C220 (AMG rims, bodykit)

BEST AUDIO INSTALL:
1st place: yellow Terrano with all DLS system (also made by dbaudio so ok lang :biggrin:)

BEST IN SOUND QUALITY:
judging was STILL ongoing til 3am...i already left coz i was sleepy na

hmm...perhaps its time for a bodykit & phat-er rims? :biggrin: hehehe! already talked to dbaudio to "update" the look of the Mini's setup...hehehe! gastos nanaman!

all in all...not bad for my 1st car show. twas fun pa rin kahit papano. thanks to ed & john & co. for dropping by to keep me company :D

Thanks for telling me. I guess I do have those, compared to the regular Mini Cooper, which does not have sports suspension, which all MCS has. Now if you're asking if I changed it, no I did not. But I remember the former owner telling that it has.

Macky, great to hear that you're satisifed......I guess at shows like that, you really have to spend money to get to the "top of the heap". I doubt anyone can win the show by spending half, and being creative without money involved. That , I still have to hear, see and audition.......

In Hi-Fi audio for the home, that would be possible. Cheap set-up, but you will be very limited to a type of genre of music. You will have limited dynamic range and musicality. I guess its different with car audio........i don't think clarify and fidelity is an issue and would count.............all they'll be asking is, WHERE'S THE BASS??

yup, true true true. that's why the demo cars of DBAUDIO are always setup for sound quality. the demo car has a total of 5 sets of separates (4 sets 2-way, 1 set 3-way), and has 4 13" subs (200 wrms ea). you wouldn't believe how clear it plays! they rarely play r&b/hiphop/rap music in shows, they play mostly classical & other types of music that focus on sound quality rather than BOOM BOOM factor :D

actually, my sound setup is for sound quality...but why the 13" 1000 wrms sub? hmm...sometimes i still crave for that BOOM BOOM factor :D i'm really considering updating my setup. ya'll watch out for the final product :D

one of my ideas that has "Mini" written all over it: imagine the emblem/logo of the Mini (the one with wings)...but the sub is the one in the middle (with a grill spelling out "Mini") & the wings carved out of the fiberglass enclosure :D best of show/audio install?! HERE I COME!!! hahaha!
