Hi all,

newbie here registered a couple of months back. havent checked in because of the lack of mini units (that fit my budget) available.

anyway, i found one, its supposed to be a cooper w/sport package. im hoping to see it sometime friday(Feb 24) should this have the same package as on the US website? The person selling says the unit has under 600 kms. and is still classified as a new unit. Would really appreciate any pointers you guys can give me on what i should be looking at on the physical inspection of the unit?

i've been doing some researching for some time now...and have decided to get the ff for my Mini this April:

1. pilo stage 3 ignition upgrade (like eric's)
2. miltek headers
3. exhaust (care of ERL or magnaflow or miltek)
4. bluefin / MTH (remap)

the "branded" ones can be seen at outmotoring.com. check out the attached pix. parang pwede pagaya na lang dito yung exhaust & headers...hmmm...

i went to check the unit out last weekend. apparently its an 04' unit brought in last year (as the seller claims) after physical inspection i'd say the unit was decent. except for two items.

1. the tailgate section(hinges) look to have been repainted already? dunno if its because the roof is white or what? yung screws puti na din kasi parang it was painted over lang? ganun ba talaga? yung side mirrors din white and it doesnt seem to have been painted after. no masking evident at least.

2. there's an ugly DING on the rear quarter panel near the door. anychance matanggal ito sa PDR? can anyone here take apart the side interior mouldings? familiar with mini i mean.

pero sayang aside from that the unit is ok. it has the 17 rims of the S in silver, pirelli run flats. a panoramic roof, leather, and dsc. best of all its a manual and oo nga pala it also has the stripes on the bonnet.

with regards to the under 600 reading. its in KM no miles. the car has a plate number of 800 if anyone has rumors about this car please let me know. many thanks!

sorry i didnt notice i missed the color. its the chili red variant with white roof and side mirrors. as to what package im not entirely sure? im assuming it has the sport package because of the DSC controls and fog lamps? but it also has the panoramic roof and leather seats which was included in the premium package? also the 17 mini rim option is in neither of the packages. I do hope you'd pardon my ignorance if any on the packages/options. the extent of my understanding is from the mini usa build your own section.

also i found out the car was imported for cebu initially but the documents are here in diliman. the plate number is 800 wont divulge the letters for the sellers privacy. it was brought in march of 2004. im still having the documents verified. if ever the unit came in thru cebu i dont think ill consider it anymore for fear of it being a smuggled unit? or am i worrying about nothing?

with regards to bringing the unit to the EB. baka mahirapan ako kunin yung car though i was able to take it around that same morning. when i looked at the car last sunday it had the "auto stadium" paper mats inside. and the guy im talking to isnt the actual seller but a common friend/acquaintance. its out of respect lang na nde ko na direct to the seller here in manila? or should i insist?

1. I think the screws on the tailgate are really white. I remember mine to be that way, I'll check it out tomorrow. As for the side mirrors, they are really white if you happen to have a white roof.

2. As for the ding on the rear quarter panel. It's going to be really hard taking out the interior sidings in the rear section. I had my mechanic try it but really didn't get anything off. If the ding is pretty low, maybe by removing the rear fender liner puwede na madukot.

As for the options, you can actually specify each and every option you want without getting any of the packages. I guess that MC is specc'd pretty good. Just check the Certificate of Payment, it should indicate how much tax has been payed for the car. Particularly check ow many cars is paid for that amount. Sometimes what they do is put in a big amount but actually if you read it closely, it says the amount is for 3 or 4 cars. Ok naman sigura yan kahit from Cebu as long as you have good papers. You'll need to talk directly to the seller to verify how strong the papers are for that car.

i'll second john's advice. the CP's should match the unit's vin nos. thats what is important. malabo pag not the same and they have to ammend the CP. baka may hitch. multiple cars on one CP. other than that is also whether you can live with your acquisition cost. hehe

thanks for the input glad to hear my concerns are not negative. with the ding however i dont think its reachable via fender its closer to the door jamb. hopefully they can fix that. As for the value of the unit...i've resigned myself to the amount already:hmph: . i just wanna make sure its all legal. heh heh

i've seen before a cr/w mc with 800 number around my neighborhood. plate starts with a G. white stripes with white s lites and driving lights. don't know if its the same uniy]t tho.

the plates on this unit begin with an X and it doesnt have driving lights. OT, how are your units for daily driven? are they daily driven? how much does service cost? every 10k?

already did, they only have rings for Bimmers. i will try to haggle with kit on the rings since they really should be included with the rims & tires since i DID buy it from them. the only pros of having A+ do it is it will only take them 1 day to make it. hmm...i'll call kit in the morning & let you know. if i can't haggle, i'm taking my MC straight to you para makahabol sa EB run :)

about the EB on saturday or sunday, i'll let you guys know on thursday or friday if i can go, i still have pending plans for the weekend.

darnoc, the MC you're looking to buy was brought in through cebu but with diliman papers? i'll check my Mini when i get back to manila, i think my Mini was also brought in through cebu & with diliman papers.
