There's a company called hitech (or it could be hytech) that does an exhaust for the MCS. I think it's the same design as the works exhaust. There's a guy here in Canberra with one fitted to his MCS, it sounds great. I think he said it cost about $1000.

Hi E-Gun,
welcome to the boards... If you look in the Australian forum section you will probably find all the info on Australian tuners. Where do you live?
If you are in Sydney, the people to see are Peak Performance at Parramatta. They look after a lot of modification work for for quite a few of us that take our cars out onto the track. :D:D
There is also a local company called Whiteline that designs suspension setups and have produced excellent kits for track and road. These include larger sway bars, adjustable camber plates and strut bars. They have coilovers coming soon, with both height and dampening adjustments.
There is also AMG in Edgecliffe that sells a whole range of goodies too...

If in Sydney, try Hi-Tech, also called Lambros located in Darlinghurst.

I had the MCS cat-back exhaust system from them and it was great.Sounded really good and they will do a small muffler version(fairly loud but not over the top) or the larger mufflers which sound a little louder under load than standard.

Price will be about $1200 depending on how good your negotiating skills are.

Good luck

Hi-tech is the best apart from hartge. 1200-1400 cash will probably get u hi-tech as to living in melbourne, im not sure but you may have to do a run to sydney.

AMD Technik Stage One www.amdtechnik.com was purchased from Quattro Sports Zentrum www.qsz.com.au in Melbourne

Stage One includes 15% reduction pulley and "One Click" ECU remap. The "One Click" device is great as I can switch from the performance map to stock ecu map simply thus avoiding detection from BMW diagnostics ... pull the bonnet on my car and it looks absolutely stock (doesn't go like stock though) :D

Stage One cost me about $1600 + $255 fitting from ALS in Haberfield. Bang for buck this kit is unsurpassed. JCW performance at 1/5 the price!

I have the Scorpion Exhaust as well which is imported from the UK. It is more expensive than the Sydney Hitech job. However, the tips are nicely rolled (not straight cut which I think is a little crude) with smaller muffler cans which do NOT hang below the chassis line (which is the case with the JCW). However, the exhaust really does howl at the higher revs and will turn heads in the street..

In short, a pulley / chip combo will transform your car. After about 6 weeks of owning my car I was hungry for more power and bang for buck you simply can't go past pulley / chip!

The Hi-Tech exhaust sounds awesome and a lot of WRX's,200SX's run them, in fact the fastest WRX in Aust runs a Hi-Tech system .

They will put whatever exhaust tip you want on but because the one I had was the first one they put on I was happy with the ones I got.

The AMD might be 1/5th the price of a JCW but you have no warranty and JCW looks at the entire package instead of a few specific mods- please no more debates on JCW v ???

At the end of the day you will be happy with whatever mods you do and thats the main thing. It would be a very boring old world if we all liked the same things and we all had the same mods.

Good luck.

Cooper s Kid,

You would have to go close to affording the JCW kit if you just put 19'' rims and tyres on your car !!!

If you want to know who can afford it, look in the performance section at "JCW what number is yours".

I was merely giving my comments on the previous post in regards to the JCW kit..If you can afford it ,great. If you cant and get someother mod thats great as well.It will still be a modified MCS.

The people who have them obviously dont think there a rip-off and I dont care if they do because I am happy with mine and thats all anybody could ask for. My car,My money.

The good thing about the JCW Kit when tracking the car is that it doesn't seem to send the temperature through the roof. Gets to about 125 and sits there. I think the high flow head is definitely a good thing. Then again, Robbo and Trelo wacked on an oil cooler to fix that problem anyway. Now they just have to fix their Engine mounts so they can stop cracking their exhaust systems
