As per the subject header, am keen to find out if you guys know of anyone, or are yourselves looking to sell a MCS.

I've been lusting after a MCS but my wife is unwilling to let go of our current Ford Focus, so I'm considering getting a 2nd hand MCS.

Thanks!

Hi 163,
used MCSes are still pretty rare, tho several have already exchanged hands. best bet is to keep ur eyes peeled and ears open.

Thanks. I realised that. Have been scanning the classifieds but thought I post a message here in case any of you Cooper owners heard anything.

Well, it really depends. why?

Worth considering, if
One cannot wait for a couple of months for a new MCS.
One does not mind the nittty grittys of the earlier builds.

However, if one can wait, why not place an order for a new MCS.
Prices for a brand new MCS is nearly in the same range (after all the discounts).
Theres the Cabrio to consider.
2004 build MCS has several revisions, in the looks (inside, outside) and performance.

so it really depends.. :)

I agree with you on getting the New MCS as the asking price for the above unit is bit high taking into the account of the new pre-face lift MCS is about $120K. I am currently waiting for the new face lifted MCS price list to make my decision but PML has not get back to me yet. In anyway, 02 MCS is a bit risky due to the early production problems.......................just my 2 cents worth.

Cheers!

Yep, happens with most early builds, so far (touch wood) mine has not given too much trouble..
Go for it, the facelifted MCS. Some one I know has already one on order to replace hi Cooper. go check it out. :)

Anyone know if the MCS advertised over the weekend got sold? Called up the number and appears like the owner's secretary or colleague was mediating -- strange.

Agreed -- asking price WAY to high.

I called up too and there is this strange lady negotiating on the owner behalf!!!!! She claimed that she is not a dealer but friend of the owner. The worst thing, she knows nuts about MCS(what an insult!!!!!!!). She don't even know the mileage on the car........
My conversation with her almost ended in me vomiting blood;

a) Why asking so high(quoted by her $110K while brand new selling at $119K)?
Ans : You know this is a Super-Charged Mini Copper and not normal Mini Copper you know!!!!!!! and is very rare in the mkt. What is she talking about, all MCS are SUPERCHARGED...sigh............then shortly after that the price drops to $103K...??????

b) Is there Works on it as she claimed that the car is very rare?
Ans : What works.....I don't work on Sat.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

c) Mileage?
Ans : Low as owners got many cars(who bothers how many cars he has/have) but don;t know even the estimate....!!!!

d)Where can I see the car?
Ans : Only Sat aftermoon and you must go to the owner house. Strictly by appointment only........... :bad:

Enough said.............I gave up..............and surrender.....................sigh..............

Cheers!
