Oh you were there Sunday! Well, there were some very tasty MINIs about on Saturday then. I was drooling at them in the car park and the patrolling policemen gave me funny looks!

Boy did you miss out!!!

As a sequel to my marvellous mini mirror montage, i give you Kolibr from a slightly different angle. The thing is, this type of paint looks different from different angles/distances from the same light source... multiple bulbs hitting the paint spoils the truly great affect it would have from one light source.... like the sun..

before it looked just a bit grey and sparkly...

look at the 3 at least colours from the 3 light sources.. sweet....

For a load of motor show regulars, you really need to go around scabbing more freebies! I've got identical little pots for MG, BMW, loads of manufacturers. Funny how only BMW saw the need to print instructions on the bottom! And yes, I do have far too much free time on my hands, but i'm not getting paid for it like u Chris :). And don't feel too bad about not being able to open it, I had to teach chris on sunday, he was tugging like a maniac trying to loosen it :)

Just found out through a process of careful experimentation (i.e accidentally) that the painwork on the miniminis is meths-proof, so i have now painted my LY one completetly back using a permanent OHP marker. Now all I need is some silver paint for the striped and roof :) - hmm... where did I put that TAMIYA set?

FYI guys and girls

looks like the bottom pulley came undone and broke up into the driveshaft boot, bmw do not replace cv boots so they have ordered a complete driveshaft replacement and lower pulley assembly.

Very nice guy Peter vains service manager assures me that i will have the car back tommorow and they will do a full torque check on all bolts.. they said they all were genuinely concerned as they have dont seen or heard of this before!! other then a pulley problem with the first minis ???

Get your pulleys checked guys! dont let it be a motorshow stopper !!

not bad for 36 hours old eh?

Andy..

Now im sure we discussed running in your MCS when met up at cheively. Perhaps she wanted to be run in by you? shocking bad luck that happened to you on your first run. Good meeting up with you early on sunday. perhaps you might make it to the beaulei MINI day next weekend. its not far from you.

Sounds like rotten luck Zippster. We were wondering what had happened to the EB mini :( Glad things look like been sorted soon though. Hope this doesn't put you off any future runs.

Again, a fantastic day... MINI2'ers ROCK ! MINI's Rock ! :)

Wish I'd made the photo shoot on the arena but once the show finished, we went to check out some other stuff (mainly convertibles for about the 5th time that day :D). Did get Russ to sign my MINI Passport though :D

Had an equally great time at the pub with some of the Midlanders :)

Now making plans for the Charity bash next year :)
nice to have you join us Ian, and finally put a face to the name, now I know what Brummie meant about the cat avatar and I recall seeing you posts.

Have to excuse me, but I wasn't as talkative as normal, bit jet lagged from the return journey from China;)

But look forward to seeing you at more meet ups:)

Zippster, I can only encourage you not to be put off by your misfortune. Who better to experience it with than 150 like minded good souls. Have you ever had so many well wishers and such sincere sympathy. The car will improve. Your choice of mates couldn't be better. Motor On!

Mad Brummie I read of your skills with the "Bull Horn" as we call it. I think you have proven yourself and you may borrow this for Cotswolds.

That's because I did my bit in handing out the flyers while we were parked up at Hams Hall, and spoke to real people as I was doing it :p

[QUOTE=Hickster]I got on the detour route too and unfortunately took everyone else with me (sorry) but we did get our own special carpark which we were 'escorted' too. Lots of security ppl on radios and moving barricades around to let us through. Thanks to the organisers and the free parking and thanks to MINI for letting us onto the arena floor and get some pics and sigs :D

Hi all,

It was my first meet and i thought it was Fantastic! :D Was a little worried on the way to Hams Hall because the road seemed a little empty, to my surprise when i saw all the minis parked up! Met some great people!
Hickster: I was the grey MCs in front of you who decided to burn off and catch up with the red mini in front of me because i didnt know the route....sorry if i was driving a little fast ;) I felt a bit bad because i wasnt sure if you knew the way.
I also did the magical NEC tour...found our way in the end though :D
