Tabor :indi: zied Jun 16th, 2004, 05:08 PM Count me in as a representative from the unofficial Redwood Empire MINI Enthusiasts (REMI) hehe. You know my schedule limitations but I hope I can join SVSG for a run. larry paquette Jun 16th, 2004, 11:34 PM A run in the Tahoe area sounds nice. Pick a date and I'll put it on the sched. DrkSlvrS Jun 17th, 2004, 10:55 PM I have family in Truckee ... I wouldn't mind taking a couple of days to meet with MINI enthusiast and spending time with family. Let me know where and when. SFJAMES Jun 17th, 2004, 11:09 PM My family and I are down for a cruise up to Tahoe. I'll wait for the date. thanks Tabor Nansk Jun 19th, 2004, 03:33 AM Looks like we've got a good response! A quick poll and then we'll nail down a date: Does mid-week sometime or Friday 7/23 work better? During the day or early evening? Thanks all.
Tabor schlick Jun 19th, 2004, 07:46 PM Depending on when you guys decide on for the date I should be able to join you. I just came back from bombing around the Tahoe area in my MCS, hope I can make it to this event. zied Jun 20th, 2004, 07:48 PM :D either works for me :p larry paquette Jun 23rd, 2004, 12:35 AM How about the weekend ? zied Jun 23rd, 2004, 08:17 PM Shall we leave early-mid afternoon, drive around the lake with lots of stops, eat dinner maybe on the north shore and continue around the lake... or any other ideas. I really don't know the area that well.
We can leave earlier and see and drive more.... but we should include dinner somewhere. zgokart Jun 23rd, 2004, 09:15 PM Shall we leave early-mid afternoon, drive around the lake with lots of stops, eat dinner maybe on the north shore and continue around the lake... or any other ideas. Just got back from a camping trip to Sugar Pine Pt State Park (in Lake Tahoe) last week.
I'd recommend going clockwise around the lake, beginning at some convenient meeting place at South Shore (the Y intersection has some commercial businesses with adequate parking spaces for assembly). Stops at Tahoe City (fish ladder and good eats), Sand Harbor State Park on Nevada side for photo op (you'll have to pay a day-use park entrance fee) . The complete loop is about 76 miles, and with stops, could take all day.
For those considering camping out, you could complete the loop and camp at Camp Richardson (tel. 916-541-1801, reservations required), just west of the Y-intersection. There are some scenic attractions in the campground and there's a nice beachfront restaurant too. zgokart Jun 23rd, 2004, 09:16 PM schlick, good to read your post and welcome back to MINI activities. pefloresjr Jun 23rd, 2004, 09:28 PM I am pretty much a lurker here, but if you do the run on the weekend my wife and I will try to come. We are planning a foothill trip around Plymouth and the surrounding area this weekend. And, by July our MINI should be through the breakin period! :D
Cheers, edlfrey Jun 27th, 2004, 02:48 AM If you decide on a Sat or Sun I'll drive up and meet you along the way. schlick Jun 27th, 2004, 04:26 AM Middle of the weeek? Don't think that I will be making it. zied Jun 28th, 2004, 06:04 PM My family and I are down for a cruise up to Tahoe. I'll wait for the date. thanks
James, will you be heading to Tahoe that week? SFJAMES Jun 29th, 2004, 11:27 PM James, will you be heading to Tahoe that week?
hello all, are we doing this on a weekend?, sorry I got lost on the dates, let me know. thanks guys :) Tabor Nansk Jun 30th, 2004, 09:47 PM Hi all,
Been in Hawaii on vacation the past 10 days hence my slowness in getting back to you. It seems most would prefer the weekend, so let's go for Saturday July 24th. Zgokart's idea of meeting at the "Y" and making a loop sounds great. How early of a start should we make it? zied Jul 1st, 2004, 03:11 AM Hi all,

The location is great, post a time and a route and see who will be able to make it. Depending on the time I may or may not be able to join the group, but lets let the majority decide..... the earlier the better for me.... maybe meet for breakfast and head out afterwards.... you and I can always meet earlier in the week if you want to. Tabor Nansk Jul 1st, 2004, 07:47 PM Hi all,
How does 9:00 am sound for a start time? Let's meet at the the south shore Y outlet stores parking lot. Zgokart's suggestion of a clockwise loop sounds good - up the west shore on Hwy 89, across at Tahoe City and down the east shore on Hwy 28 (Tahoe map attached). Stops for eating, sightseeing (gambling to pay for it all) etc, up to the group. dinlo Jul 2nd, 2004, 05:11 PM I just got back form my vacation too, it's nice to see other MINIs again. What date of this run? :D Tabor Nansk Jul 2nd, 2004, 06:47 PM Hi Dinlo, it's 7/24. Hope you can make it. SFJAMES Jul 2nd, 2004, 10:03 PM Got my calendar marked guys, thanks. pefloresjr Jul 2nd, 2004, 11:21 PM Pending anything unexpected, my wife and I will be there. We'll be heading up hwy 50 from Sacto. I don't know the Tahoe area that well. How will we find the Y outlet Stores parking lot from 50? Looking forward to some great mountain motoring! Were in Volcano in the foothills last weekend and saw another CR/W Cooper S with white 17 in S lites parked in town. The owners said they thought their car was being stolen when we drove by. ;) See you in a few weeks.
Cheers,
Pete F. Tabor Nansk Jul 3rd, 2004, 03:06 AM Hi Pete,
After you come down from Echo summit into Meyers, keep on going. "Hwy 50" turns into a surface street and intersects Tahoe Blvd at the Y (major signals). The outlet stores are on your right before you cross Tahoe Blvd. See you there :) zied Jul 6th, 2004, 09:16 PM The unofficial Sacramento Valley/Sierra's group would like to do a South shore Tahoe run sometime the week of July 19-24th. Tabor Nansk Jul 12th, 2004, 10:29 PM Hi all, Here's two more maps showing Hwy 50 into the lake and a close-up for the Y outlet shops. Hope we have a good turn out. It should be a great day for a drive. :) larry paquette Jul 13th, 2004, 01:11 AM I'm coming . We're going to camp at Union Reservoir. It's up Ice House Rd. zied Jul 13th, 2004, 04:22 AM Tabor, you should have Dennis post this on Norcal.... maybe they could post a page to determine an estimated number of cars coming.... you may have a great turn out for the first Sacramento Sierra group outting! | |
