So is calling MiniUSA more timely and accurate than thru the owner's lounge? Jimbo

Yes, if you go for customer service and get a person, you can get more detail.
The OL is notoriously slow to update.

Called my MA last night and added bonnet stripes to my order!

Then I called MINIUSA and found out my vehicle is still not schedule for production.

DOH!

joeyjoey, what was your order date?

joeyjoe9
Jul 9th, 2004, 03:42 PM
It was July 2.

mlebeau
Jul 9th, 2004, 03:59 PM
ok so it's still possible mine is scheduled, I ordered on June 30.. but not likely. :) I'm gonna call now.

Jul 9th, 2004, 04:05 PM
Woot! Also scheduled for production, week 32. I think she made a pretty optimistic estimate though - she said at that rate I would see my MINI around the end of August. I was told by my dealer it would probably be Sept 20 or so, isn't that more likely after all the inspections, etc? (The other tough part is that I have to wait for it to be shipped from Classic MINI to CA! But that's another story; I'm just talking about when it would arrive at Classic).

where is Classic MINI?

mlebeau
Jul 9th, 2004, 04:24 PM
Mentor, OH. Can't get MSRP in CA, so I went to them. They're outstanding, Julie is highly recommended to work with.

BartMack
Jul 9th, 2004, 04:29 PM
they're probably supplied by the VPC in NY/NJ..(there's another one in SCfor the south east)

top speed would be off the assembly line onto a waiting boat... 2 days
crossing the Atlantic... 7 days? (I don't remember)
1st in line at VPC ........ 2 days
on a carrier to OH.... 3 days

It could be done in 2 weeks, but 4 weeks is more likely..

mlebeau
Jul 9th, 2004, 04:46 PM
4 weeks is still really great. It would seem that if all goes well Classic should see my MINI by early Sept or so?? I really hope that's right, because it would be a big plus if I could get the car even just a few days before classes start again in late September. Classic said it would take a max of a week for the shipment to arrive from OH (one truck, the whole way, very cool company they use)... The question, though, is when they will be able to ship it since there are a number of other orders waiting too.

do you have any dealer installed options? aero kit, driving lights, aux adapter, blootooth, etc :p

mlebeau
Jul 9th, 2004, 05:00 PM
Nope, but I am getting a car cover, and they are sending me the parts for the aux adapter which I will install myself. I also may have them tint the windows because it's WAY cheaper in OH than in CA. But I haven't decided yet; personally I'd like to have it without tint for a little while and then see the difference. Mods are fun. :) But for a savings of up to possibly $300, it's probably worth it for them to do it.

Hello all. I've ordered my MCS as of June 22, but haven't yet recived a production date. My dealer said that it should be an August date... Anyhoo... does anybody have any idea when I may get my production date? The wait is KILLING me. and if she should acually happen to get built in my lifetime here are my specs:

BRG/W MCS
H/K
Package #3
Auto AC
Auto Wipers

Wetworth,

Congrats on your order! Have you called 866.ASK.MINI? I don't have a production date in the Owners Lounge but if you call they have much better information. If you ordered June 22 and they put your order straight in, I would think you'd have a production date already, based on our information. Good luck!

Yeah, I acually just got off thephoe with them. They told me the same as the Owners Lounge, and said they had no idea when I may get that info.

Jul 9th, 2004, 05:20 PM
How odd, they didn't even have an estimated build date for you? I don't understand how you could have ordered 8 days before me and not received a schedule when I have.

Congrats RallyMINI, sounds sweet! I hope the Cordoba doesn't clash with the blue exterior too much. Saw Cordoba for the first time a week ago and really liked it. Good call on the aftermarket wheels - I went ahead and got the sport wheels because I think it was only like $200 extra and I really like the way they look, and while I know eventually I'll be upgrading the wheels at some point, I figure to have them look the way I want until I do for $200 was worth it.

So the reason I have to wait for my MCS so long is because folks 1,000 miles away are ordering from my local dealership in Cleveland?

The least you could do is come and visit and spend time in our city!

;)

wow, it was $120 to tint my Cooper, and he had to do the drivers window twice
(the 1/4" drop thing threw him off-- you can trick the door by flipping the catch, but he didn't have it all the way flipped :( )

joeyjoe,

haha, I'm actually tempted. I'm currently set up for the car to be shipped out here but if that's not looking too good, I'll be seriously considering a flight out to Ohio. My only reason for not wanting to do that was putting all those miles on so quick, and breaking it in on the trip.

BartMack,

Yeah, it's atrocious, in this area to get a decent job done, you have to pay probably $350-450. Classic will have it done for $150, so that probably makes a lot of sense. Especially if it has to wait a few days for other cars to arrive before being shipped out.

Got my production number, no build week yet.

'05 Cooper S CR\W, White bonnet stripes
Anthracite trim and headliner
cloth interior
Performance package
Cold weather package
H/K stereo
MFSW
on board computer
universal garage door opener

I was going to order the body color interior trim but I'm too nervous without ever having seen it in person before, so I went the safe route. Also wish the LSD was available now.
