Nope, no word from Julie yet. She's out of the office today, back tomorrow. My guess is they're not there yet, though. They arrived at the VPC on Monday, by the way, not Tuesday. I just got confirmation from Julie on Tuesday, but she told me when I spoke with her on Monday that they were en route to the VPC, scheduled to arrive the same day.

Yep, won't be long now. About 3 weeks till we finally get our cars by my calculations. :) Hopefully Julie will be around when our cars are delivered as she said she was going to try to get pics of them coming off the truck! :D

I just returned from Classic MINI for what I'm sure was my last stick shift lesson before my MINI arrives. I was happy because for the first time since I started learning, I didn't stall! Not once! Even got to drive on the main road and get it up to 60 mph. Practice a lot of reverse too, so I'm confident I will able to drive the 40 miles home next week. Yep, my MA is pretty confident I will have it it within a week.

For those of you wondering about your cars at Classic, I can tell you there were no cars in the showroom today except for the Monte Carlo SE that has been there for a couple of months.

So you think you'll be going back in a week... maybe you could take your digital camera with you? ;) I'm sure Julie will take a pic or two of my car but I would LOVE to have as many as I could, hehe.

Yep, I've had 4 lessons at Classic MINI. I was very hesitant to buy a car I couldn't drive, but my MA offered to teach me how to drive stick, said I could come as often as I liked until I got the hang of it and so I took him up on it and bought the car. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll have the car by the weekend, if not, then on Monday or Wednesday of next week.

Mike, I'm bringing my digital camera to MINI next week when I pick up and I'll see if your car is there at that time.

Does anybody know some of the names of the NYK ships that make the trek from Southampton to Port Huemene, CA. I have a list of NYK car transports and I know of the Southampton website to check what is In Port. However, I don't know which ones make the trip through the Panama Canal and I can't get to the NYK Schedules page. Thanks.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. :) When your car is listed as "in transit" on ASK.MINI or the OL, your dealer can provide you with a bill of lading number through their BMWnet that you can call the appropriate shipper with and track. Someone really needs to add this to the FAQ for delivery tracking, now that K-Line and NYK ships are so common, and many of us don't get the luxury of tracking via WW.

Yay! Me too! Finally. :rolleyes: I have an e-mail in to my MA to confirm that mine will be in to Baron on 8/28 as shown on OL. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Joey - We are all so proud of you. *sniff* Our little boy is growing up. :D Naw, seriously, we are all glad you did so well in only four lessons. We knew you could do it! Now, when you get your car, relax, have fun and enjoy it!

My dealer is having problems obtaining the paint codes (and paint) to do my aero kit :(
... so I decided that while they are working on that I will just take delivery without the aero (or sirius)....

They're still saying tomorrow though.... *sigh*

I now have an estimated delivery date in OL of Sept 1. That's only six days away. Woo-hoo. I'm crossing my fingers I'll get it sooner.

Julie at Classic says my car should be at the dealer today or tomorrow!! :D

She didn't explicitly say it was on a truck now, but I would assume it is, otherwise I don't think she could justifiably say it would be there today or tomorrow. My EDD is 8/28.

asaulo1, yours is PW/B too, so one time in Classic, there will be two PW/B lining up in the showroom and both are loaded on the truck to come here CA.

Definitely go with the racing stripes on PW/B... That is one of my favorite color combos, it just looks so outstanding, and usually I hate white cars. :)

Your car sounds great Frankie, can't wait to see it. Especially interested in seeing your anthracite headliner. I know I could have had it but decided it would be too dark in the interior for me. I think on a Cordoba leather setup it would be perfect, though. :)
