Cool, thanks for the info Frankie. :) Boy, I sure hope our truck is gonna be on time, I've been aiming for the 10th in my mind for so long now! :D 8/27 when my car arrived at Classic seems like an eternity ago!

I called my dealer today and he wasn't there so i spoke to another guy, my car has an estimated delivery date of tomorrow the 9th of september and so i called because i haven't talked to them or sent them any information or anything. So this guy told me that he has no info of when my car is coming in and that they have 30 cars coming in this month and he said he won't know when it is coming till it is physically put on a truck and he said it may be 2 weeks. I was just wondering if you guys had any advice on what i could do about this or any where i might be able to get any info on this...I was also wondering if anyone knew what trucking company they use to ship the cars so that maybe i could get an idea of when it is going to be here.

If anyone has any info let me know i would really appreciate it thanks again

Frustrating isn't it? My EDD is 9/11, which is 8 days after my Freedom landed in South Carolina.

I highly doubt the EDD given it has to come to Wisconsin.

The whole tracking thing is crazy, I'm mad at myself for playing the game:

1)The OL is basically useless
2)MiniUSA cannot track the car AFTER it leaves England
3)The MA didn't know when my car was supposed to land
4)WW website routinely showed incorrect info

and so on...Honestly the best advice is to forget about it and just wait for the dealer to call you, because the bottom line is, no one knows where your car (or mine) is...

Now excuse me while I go check the OL to see if my EDD has changed since the last hour I checked it. ;)

frankie & mike - i know that it seems that it's been so long since they've received our cars..... i wonder how long it'll take for our cars to be trucked to us.... 3, 4 days? just trying to figure out when I should ask for a "motoring" day off......

I think 3 or 4 days is a very optimstic estimate, though 4 days is not impossible (it has happened with Concours before). I have asked around to some of the people who have used the Concours/Classic combo before, and I've heard estimates from 4 days in the best case that they come directly from OH to CA to 11 days in the worst case that they have a LOT of stops to make. I'm just praying it's 7 days or less, and would REALLY love if it were 4 or 5 days. Julie said it usually takes a week or less, so that's what I'm hoping for. Even if it takes a week, that's 8-9 days from now! :D But if we're really lucky we could motoring by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

Julie is supposed to get back to me tomorrow about timeline stuff. I will definitely post the moment I know anything. She will talk to Fred at Concours and he should be able to give her a good idea how long it's going to take. I sure hope the cars he was waiting for in Florida don't delay our shipment!!

I sure hope it's not 11 days!!!! 4 days then would make it around Tues. or Wed. which should be perfect... although, getting it sooner would be better.... :)

Just called Julie this morning for some questions, and I also asked about the trucking, she does not have any update (like when the cars will arrive and cost, etc.) about it, since last Sat she talked with them, but she do think the cars will be loaded tomorrow. :)

Hmm, but she still doesn't know from them whether they will be on time because she hasn't talked to them right? I sure hope they're loaded tomorrow. :)

From Julie:

"Hi Mike,
I just talked to Fred...his driver is stuck in Florida...and of course due to weather conditions he won't be able to make back to OH tomorrow, so we are looking at a least one day delay - hang in there though, OK!! ; )"

:( :(

I told Julie I'm not worried about a 1-day delay, what I'm worried about is a 4, 5, 6-day or longer delay. If he can't get out of Florida now I don't see it happening in the next week.

Wow, that's sad. We should ask for a discount on the transportation cost, at least $200 off for the additional and unnecessary stress we have, also the uncertainty of which date to ask for off. :)

that's not cool if it get's delayed 4-5 days..... i mean, don't they have a contingency plan to these things.... I guess i'm just frustrated knowing that the car has been there for a long time and it's still up in the air when we're getting them.....

Here's the history on my MCS:
Order placed with Dealer on July 6. Build completed on August 12. Went through port in South Carolina and arrived at dealer in Chicago on September 8. All in all, I think that's pretty remarkable. Picking it up tomorrow! :D :D :D :D :indi:

Bad news West Coast Mini's!!

Just read a post on NAM
http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/showthread.php?p=388933#post388933

Miniwifey got the Bill of Landing for the expected Mini on NYK line: NYKS620986010

tcassa called NYK and got the following info:

Hey there Miniwifey.....Here is the information on that BOL number (and thanks for getting it)...... The name of the vessel that is bringing our Mini's across the pond is..... drumroll please......The Hojin. Her callsign is YJYN8 (Voyage13) and she is due into Port Hueneme on Sept 17th (She must be behind schedule due to Ivan out in the Carribean). NYK Shipping is handling the transport and they don't report their wereabouts, so unfortunately we can't track it. If you want to try to get more info out of NYK, their number for the Los Angeles office is 310-618-6073. Hope the wait treats you well........

Max Mini has hit US shores and may, um, will be, thinking more positive here, in these driver's hands by next week!

I missed it if anyone replied that their Mini also left the UK at end of August, headed for Jersey. I'm sure there were other Coopers to keep the S company... at any rate, if anyone's tracking, I ordered me Cooper 10 July from the Mid Atlantic area, and the car went into production mid August, so we're on track for a 9 week delivery window. I've got the first road trip mapped out and will take the car back to the Atlantic Ocean (dunno, maybe Atlantic City, play some blackjack?) just in case he/ she/ it (this to be determined on motoring, I'll make no assumptions!) likes the salty air.

Also, FYI, looks like unless BMW coughs up a better rate, I'll end up putting the Coop on me charge card. This whole money business is beyond me, guess that's why I'm buying a brand new car instead of something used and cheaper, and using me money for food and clothing and shelter. But hey it wouldn't be a brand new MCS, now would it? Got to live and have our fun, yeah. No, I don't think I'm slipin' into any Liverpudian dialect over the Coop, that started happening after George Harrison died and started channeling through me. But then that's another story, defintely. What, I shoud call Max George? Are you mad?

God but it has been a long wait and it will be a few long days more. But time to get out the wallet, sigh/ whoopee time.

:D

Thanks Alfredo. So, do you know the firm date meaning only the date the cars are loaded, or also the date they arrive at the destinations?

Get well, Alf. :)

Thanks for the info Alfredo. I agree it's getting a bit ridiculous, it's time to have the car! It's now been 2 weeks since my car showed up at Classic, that's 2 weeks I could have had my baby, so I've been trying to be patient, and I looked at it and said "ok, only 2 extra weeks to get it nicely and safely delivered to me", but now that it's going to be even longer than that, all I can say is... it better not be much longer. ;)

Well, at least we have information. CB is this the same ship U were expecting delivery much earlier? Boy this must be depressing, if so. However, if this is the same ship that is bringing my MCS (and my Sierra Vista friend's S) then it's only a couple days late, for my MA told me ETA at VDC of 9/16. Should be going or thru the PC by now. Hang in there, Jimbo

Well then good CB for you were sure that you're ship landed much earlier, and your gut instincts were correct. See what confusion too much (mis)information can create?

So I take it that the Hojin is the ship due to land in PH the 17th? Jimbo

It's HERE!!!!!!!!

The OL originally said 9/10-today, but when I checked again it said 9/12!!- I was really stressing! I called Julie up yesterday and she said it would be here by today!

I can't pick it up today since I can't make it there in time after work, but I'll be there as soon as I can tomorrow!

Frieda is HERE!!

I checked the OL tracking page just after midnight this morning, and it still showed that Frieda was at the VDC with a September 11 EDD. However, when I rather compulsively checked the OL again today - it said that Frieda was at my dealer's and that the EDD was Sep 8!! Sure enough, when I frantically called the dealer, my MA checked (he was away for Convertible training on Tues & Wed), and Frieda did arrive there on Wed, Sep 8! She has already been prepped, etc, so I'm going to get her later TODAY!!!!

HIP, HIP, HURRAH!!! - :D  :D  :D -

I am hoping you're right!!!! I want to drive my car before the fog settles in for the winter!!! My MA is at the Cabrio training session this weekend and isn't answering my calls.

(If the OL hasn't been updated since 8/16 ... then Mini's OL service really sucks. What's the point of offering something like this if they aren't going to keep it up to date.)

I've never been happier to have someone say, "I told you so!" What a grand weekend this will be - all clear, sunny skies - every wisp of a cloud cleared away from Frances sweeping through here! Even tomorrow's tragic memorial service will be less depressing. For the rest of you - keep tracking! Isn't it strange that I'm the one who told my MA that they had my MINI??
