Hi Alfredo. I would go with the HyperBlack or GunMetal one, that's the color I was thinking before for my MCS.

Mike - we have similar paths but I tend to do the wheels right away... just like in my 03 MC.... I'll be keeping the stock xlites for track days and auto x and just put stickier tires on it.... I haven't experienced an auto x before so I'm really looking forward to it... I know I could have tried it with my MC but I really wanted one that would be able to "keep up" as they would say.... my local club (SCMM) has a ton of track days and driving events throughout the year in various places (streets of willow springs, irwindale speedway, qualcomm stadium (autox)) so I'm looking to do that a few times a year.... I guess we're getting ahead of ourselves since our cars are still being trucked to us as we speak :)

The set of new shoes for my MCS is already in my garage for a month already :) If interested, I have a pic in my gallery. :)

Alfredo,

Cool, yeah I want to get into tracking, I've only ever done autocross. I completely forgot to mention my plan for wheels.. They're not in my 'timetable' and are a 'do it whenever you feel like it' mod. :) I'm thinking about going with a traditional favorite, the gunmetal SSR Comps. ;)

Hi guys,

Sorry to break up your conversation but I feel I have a right to be selfish for a few lines. ;)

My motor dealer just phoned me to say that the boat docked in South Africa today, so I can expect to take delivery of my Mini next week!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

3 months later. I am absolutlely exstatic.

Hope your wait is not much longer and will put some pics up when i get him.
Anyway... enough about me, lets hear some more of your guys progress.

Jay,

This isn't "USA" August production. So don't be shy about contributing. Each week more and more people become new happy owners while the rest simply get closer, still forced to live the MINI life vicariously through others. When you can only look and not touch (i.e. no car yet), posting can be good therapy. So welcome to WFDA (Waiting For Delivery Anonymous).

Thanks Brant,

Should have been here LONG time ago already. Definitely would have helped the waiting!

frankie - just curious, why'd you go with bronze?

fs-mini
Sep 15th, 2004, 03:52 PM
I think goes well with white car. Thought about gold (OZ superlagger), but gold is too bright for PW, since PW is a bit grey tone on white, so bronze should be ok. Besides, I don't want to spend too much on wheel, so went with Enkei. I had Enkei on my 4x4 for 4 yrs already, and they are good.

To be short ... just my taste, may vary for other people. But definitely, gun metal or hyper black were also my choices.

Mike, Frankie - anybody hear from Billy of Classic or Fred of Concour

Alfredo, not sure what we would hear. :) We know he's on the road. Should have pics from Julie tomorrow.

Frankie, I stopped by Foothill College today to see if there was enough space there during a school day, and there was tons of open space in multiple gigantic parking lots. I think that might be a good idea? It's also easy because it's so close to 280 that it makes it easy for everyone to get to.

Max was unloaded at the dealer Monday, and chomping at the bit, I had the last car of the day to be delivered Tuesday. A big set of all 5s to my MA for being the last man out, and getting it done in a rainstorm. I got a great set of photos of the car clean and detailed inside the garage. Well, I don't have to sweat trying to keep the car spotless, as soon as it dries it rains again.

I'm becoming an expert at MCS handling in the rain, so far so good, just one bit of a slide on a start. Trying my best to keep it under 4500 RMP for the breakin. Anyway, I waited about 9 weeks. It's worth it! Totally fun car. Guess it's time to join the other sections of Mini2. :D

Soon as there's a break in the weather, I'm beach bound... might have 2 hours of sun tomorrow, so we may escape then! Glad at this point I opted for the all season tires. No dry roads are expected for the next week. BUT HEY IT IS FUN and you get to use the front and rear wipers and the defroster and the FOG LIGHTS are FANTASTIC! Guess this is what it's like driving in Max's motherland.

If you didn't order your baby with fogs, get em done at the dealer, they light up the night.

:D

Not quite sure what you're trying to say here. It's only because fs-mini suggested PM for the detail minutia re your cars and their shipping, lest others get the idea that the thread's been hijacked, and I HEARTILY support this idea. That's all. Jimbo

I think possibly what he said is ... he thought you have enabled the function that will notify you by email if there is a reply to this thread. So, when we 'hijack' the thread, you must have been received tons of this kind of email. :) I guess

Hi Alfredo, thanks for sending the mail to Julie. So, she did not reply so you think she is out today, or someone replied or auto-reply saying she is out?

I received a call from MiniUSA yesterday, she thought I've already got the car and wanted to survey me I guess, but I told her I won't see it till next week, then she said she will call back next week. :)

auto reply..... saying she'll be out... although I may have misread it and she's supposed to be back today... anyway, Fred from concour told me to call him this afternoon just to see the progress of the truck... I will do that and report back here.... by the way, I called yesterday to order my wheels from wheelmax and they said it's out of stock for a month..... oh well... I guess I do have to wait til my ride gets here....

I thought that the Classic Concours Crowd PM'ing each other (a buddy/distribution list?) was a good idea so y'all could keep each other PRIVATELY updated without dominating (or hijacking) this thread, that's all, especially to discuss post-delivery accessories and mods that have nothing to do with shipping and delivery :)

sequence - easy.. man.... we're not trying to pi** anyone off.... just trying to get into the spirit of taking delivery of our cars...... it may be just that some of us have gone through a lot in trying to get their cars that we're inclined to sharing more info than the next guy..... just a few more days and we should be out of your hair.......

sequence,

Sorry you feel this way. The forums are for the fraternization (and in this case, commiseration) of all, that is their entire purpose. Discussion of what to do with the cars after we get them, etc, is directly related to delivery in my opinion. If you look at the delivery threads for the past 2 years you'll see that they all have similar discussions. The fact that it happens to be me, Frankie, and Alfredo talking about those things is merely a result of the fact that no one else currently watching this thread is joining in.

Friendly $0.02 of advice - if you're not interested in discussing MINIs it's probably best if you avoided online MINI discussion forums. ;)
