I'm sorry you all have to wait until Wed/Thurs. I'm enjoying every minute of my MCS - 950 miles in 20 days. :D And my first rally on Oct. 3 - it's going to be huge and I'm so excited! I haven't been posting any, as I already have my baby and it would be pointless, but I have been following everyone's sagas.

Anyway, I just wanted to comment before someone piped up about the whole hijacking thing again. The last few days, when I knew it was on a truck to the dealer, but no one could tell me Fri, Sat, or Mon were the worst. In addition to the pain of having to just plain wait to get your baby, there is also the added frustration of all the peripheral things like insurance, selling old vehicles, work, kids, school, meetings, life. And you can't plan all of those things without first knowing when the freakin' truck will arrive. It just happens that three of you are in the same boat, and are directly connected to each other in an unusual way. I think it's not unlike the situation mike and I were put in when our cars disappeared from the WW site. It just so happens that he and I were they first of many, and there were lots of other people waiting on their cars and posting at the same time. Now that there are just a handful of babies waiting to be delivered, such a connection and discussion is just all the more apparent.

Ok, that's it for the lesson, class. Frankie, Alfredo, mike, sequence, MadisonMini, John, and anyone else I missed - good luck with your babies, may they arrive safe and sound and may you have many happy miles ahead of you both. :D

Oh speed_racer, congrate on your ride. Don't recall I have seen the pics you posted in your gallery, but they look great!! The leatherette seat looks very good in quality, but you don't have any exterior pics of yours? We will soon be enjoying ours too.

MA called this morning to say that my car is not at the dealer yet! She thought it would come in on Fri, she was off Sat and Sun....
She had her manager email the port to find out where it is. Right now they don't know if its en route or at the port waiting for a full truck. They DO know that it passed inspection and is done at the VPC!!!!

This SUCKS!!!

I have no friggin' idea where my car is!!! at this point, I don't even believe it exists!!!!

PLUS - the Accord that I've been driving went into the shop LAST Mon to get a new distributor 'cause it wasn't sparking enough to start. Got it back on Tues, Thurs before I was headed to the airport, it DIED at my client! Called the mechanic, yelled at them, they towed it in, still no answer to the problem on Fri, now here I sit on Mon, thinking I'd be getting a new Mini this afternoon - NOT! and no Accord!

LOL, no I don't have any exterior pics yet. It's been a comedy of errors. Even after promising to pick up my baby and clean it, I still was not satisfied with the dealer's wash as there were spots all over the black mouldings. So, I am planning on giving a good hand wash and detail, as well as pre-winter wax. And my camera hasn't been working, so I've been swiping one from work. So once everything comes together, I'll post pics. :D

BTW: I have been enjoying the back-and-forth of the Classic to CA discussion as it feels like something is actually happening!!!!

What can I do about my car? nothing! except call my MA every 1/2 hour to find out if they know something!!!

At least you 3 are giving me something to read, track, and be distracted by, since I can't be distracted by motoring!! (and work isn't working either)!!!

I am in a depressed disappointed state of mind!! and no-one truly understands except the nameless faceless discussion board at Mini2-August Tracking... 'cause you were hoping for your cars today too, and were put off until later this week.... however, at least you HAVE later this week..... I have some nameless day in the nameless future!!

Hi Cadbury, good to hear that you are entertained by us, and you're enjoying it, before your own show starts. After seeing your post, and saw a post from MadisonMini yesterday that the dealership he/she has also did not receive the cars, but the cars seems ready to be en route to the dealership, is this coincidence or actually the VDC is holding the cars for some reason now? MadisonMini's is a convertible, and yours is not right?

speedracer - thanks for the kind words... you hit the nail on the head since I've been having a bad couple of months already... being able to have my car would at least take a dent out of all the frustrations/tribulations that I've been having.... only a couple of days but it seems like an eternity especially for folks like us that have known that the car was already at the dealers for weeks on end...... I will definitely take tons of pics for Mike & Frankie just to ease the pain a bit eventhough that means that delivery will only be hours away...... just like you said, checking these forums sort of eases the pain and gives us hope that the wait will finally be over and then we'll all be busy driving the cra* out of our cars.... My MA called today to say that they don't know where my car is. It seems 11 cars made it to th VDC on the same day destined for my dealer. Of those 11, several of them arrived at the dealer last week but the others went mising. Mine was slated to leave the VDC on the 17th and arrive on the 19th. Well, its the 20th and no one can say for certain where the car is.

Its really getting to be frustrating. Cars that were built after mine and shipped to the same port have been in other drivers hands for almost a week already. While I'm happy for them, it sucks to be one of us.

(Maybe this is all part of the new ad campaign for ABC's new series, LOST!)

I will say that at this point, my next car will be purchased off the lot ... no more of this several months of torture ... no more watching the rarely accurate and rarely updated Owners' Lounge.

(Oh ... and when I complained yesterday to my MA that the OL was horribly inaccurate, the response was that they want to make sure the dealer gets the info before we do so that if there is a problem they can correct it without us knowing. It seems to me that if I am buying the car sight unseen, I should at least be able to know everything that happens to the car without worrying about what is being fixed on it before it gets to me. ARGH!)

Well, Sportty, I'm in the same situation as you...

I'm still waiting to hear, every time I call my MA they tell me "10 more days"...they have told me that twice now.

The loan I got to buy this car expires on Sep 30. If I don't get it this week, they I don't know if I have time in my schedule to pick it up before the 30th.

I'm going to call them tomorrow. If they still don't know where it is, I will tell them if I don't get it by this saturday, i'm cancelling my order.

I will most likely then start all over in the spring. As it stands now, I will receive this convertible just in time for the weather to turn cold and to have it sit in my garage for the whole winter while I make payments on it.

I was hoping to drive it for a little bit before things got cold here and I'd be happy. Every day that goes by that's looking less and less likely.

At least my MA is telling me that it IS at the VPC !!! - unless she doesn't actually know and she's just saying that to make me feel better.....

The other Prt H ship - HoJin is supposed to dock this week...... part of me thinks my car is actually on THAT ship - and that's the delay!!!

FYI fs-mini - my MA says that my delay is because they are waiting for the truck to fill up before driving to AZ, I asked is there a holdup in processing, and she said, no, its through inspection... just waiting for a truck.
Another Mini2 regular: tfaust, got his car on Friday - same build date, same shipping day, same arrival etc, but he got out of there right away!!!!!

I've never bought a brand new car before, so this is all new to me....

My friend in Sierra Vista told me sunday that Deb informed her that her car would be ready for delivery MNS 9/25--and this car was built two weeks after ours. Go figure.

Hehe, go for it! Couldn't hurt to ask at least, maybe you'll get lucky. Besides when I talked to him he stressed to "call anytime", I figured truckers probably welcome the conversation on long hauls like that. :)

okay... i couldn't help myself... I called Mitch from Concour and he said that we were definitely on for tom.'s delivery... he said that he was still in Arizona and should be on time for tom. He said the he will call me for directions once he's dropped of the 1st of our brethrens...... so, tom. is the day.... I know I said that once before :)

Right on Alfredo WOOHOO! :D You must be pumped (as am I, and I have 24 hours more than you to wait ;)). Also good to hear that he's dropping off that other MC before he drops off to you at 10-12 tomorrow, that means he should be able to head up to the Bay Area relatively quickly. :)

don't worry.... pics will be on your way tom. once he pulls into my parking lot..... I'm actually starting to get excited now that it's almost here.... I was kind of bummed that it was delayed another couple of days but hey... that's that..... now, I just need to focus and sell my 03 MC.... in time.... it would be neat to have 2 Mini's for a while...... :)

I hope this info is right! I still want to know why we sat at there for 12 days while others got released .... :mad:

I actually got pulled to NY for work until Thursday night ... I'm hoping my car is there for pickup on Friday! However my MA did not call me today as promised ... I'll definitely follow up tomorrow.

It looks like I may be the first of the group to get my car. I stopped by the dealer tonight and sitting out front waiting for me was my car. I have an appt at noon to take him home... I will post pictures later on tomorrow. Best of luck in getting your cars!
