Add mine to week 32 - completed paint shop, expected assembly completion 8/8. Ask MINI tells me that they track it to departure port, then approximately 4 - 6 weeks from there.

Thanks for playing along guys! I have updated my original post accordingly. I'm glad to hear so many people are nearing completion. Sounds like 8/7-8/13 is going to be a very busy time. :D Poor John in V, still all alone. :( We'll try to find someone for you soon to commiserate with! But at least with 8/16 you're not far behind the others.

Sorry it took so long to "call out," but I've been super busy at work travelling and really didn't want to get caught up in the "what week is what" mental labyrinth. Figgered I'd wait one month (already have waited 6) after prod # issuance then call. This whole MINI thing is a good life lesson in patience. My friends don't understand. ;) Jimbo

Some of us may want to know the approximate date our MC/MCS will take the boat ride, here is the dates (from WW) departing from SouthHampton to either New York, NY or Charleston, SC. This is not a complete list, only those departing in August are listed. Those departing on the same date with the same vessel name, possibly first go to NY then SC (my guess).

Please let me know for any incorrectness.

(date are in mm/dd)
(Info taken from the WW schedule checking page)
Departing - Arriving - (days transit) - Destination - Vessel Name
===========================
08/05 - 08/15 - (10) - NY - Jingu Maru
08/05 - 08/15 - (10) - SC - Liberty
08/11 - 08/19 - (08) - NY - Isolde
08/11 - 08/24 - (13) - SC - Isolde
08/12 - 08/23 - (11) - SC - Patriot
08/13 - 08/22 - (09) - NY - Tai Shan
08/17 - 08/25 - (08) - NY - Maersk Wind
08/17 - 08/30 - (13) - SC - Maersk Wind
08/20 - 08/28 - (08) - NY - Tristan

just read on another thread that BMW does not use WW for transoceanic Canal shipments from Southampton to Port Hueneme, evidently now it's "NYK." I tried to request a shipping schedule based on those two ports but got exception errors.
Will keep trying and post any relevant info. J-bo

Ok, here are the links. Actually I just followed that described in 'How do I track my US MINI once it's ordered?' thread of 'FAQ&FYI' in this forum, for more detail you can visit there (http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?faq=faq_delivery#faq_faq_tracking_usa).

Search by Port (http://www.2wglobal.com/www/customerCentre/schedulesLaunchPage.htm)
- search for departing and arriving port

OR

Cargo Tracking (http://213.31.205.37/GLWebApps.AppTracking)
- Enter your last seven digit of VIN as descibed in the in the FYI page.

Happy tracking.

Obviously I did not follow that thread closely :D
Anyway, if NYK is the correct one, hope I did not make any further confusion or fustration to you. If WW is still a valid line for Mini, then those are the information. :)

:mad: this NYKline is not working!! It gives an exception error for every type of combination for ports! How are we to find our Minis??

There are some WW ships going from Southampton to Pt. Hueneme... but since sequence says BMW doesn't use WW.... we're a little SOL!!

Does anyone have any ideas for those of us awaiting Canal crossings?

Also - is it ASK MINI that tells you the vessel? or are people getting it from the WW site?

BTW - here's the link to see what's at the SD ports

ARGH! I just checked and my car is scheduled for the Patriot going to Charleston. Leaves the 12th and gets into Charleston the 23rd! This sucks... I so thought I was going to come in to NY in which case I would be on the Jingu Maru too! Now I have to wait at least an extra 8 days, and my poor car has to sit at the terminal in Southampton for 9 days! :(

So, based on Mike and BartMack status checking, is that mean WW is still the company Mini chose to cross Atlantic? BTW, though I confirmed yesterday by ASKMINI the due date, but at the auto answer system of ASKMINI and OL in the web, still no update, anyone experienced the same thing?

Frankie,

Yes, the most up to date you can get is talking to a live human. The other stuff tends to delay. And yes, MINI is using WW, at least for NY and SC, however for Pt. Hueneme they may be using the other shipper as was stated above.

Yeah, I was disappointed not to make it on the Liberty to SC or the Jingu Maru to NY, but at least we'll be ship buddies. :) I wonder why we didn't make the Liberty - already booked full I guess? :-/

Does anyone have the shipping info for cars that will come all the way to California? ASKMINI stated that my car will actually be stuck on a boat for 22 days going through the Panama Canel on its way to the west coast distribution point.

(It looks like I won't see her until mid-to-end of September!)

You jinxed yourself! When I checked a few days ago to find out my boat, I found out I was on the Patriot and Baxter would be by himself. Then you said, oh they might be ship mates after all you never know. Then you find out the Patriot, too! Ouch! :eek: Sorry for you & your Mini :( but happy that Baxter will have a friend to suntan with while he waits in sunny Southampton waiting for the boat to come in. :D <I refuse to think about getting there so early we get lost in the shuffle and bumped off. Must think happy thoughts, must think happy thoughts, must.....>

mike - while I was typing mine you must've posted yours. I also wondered about the Liberty. Must be the last of the July production people trying to get across the pond. You don't get any earlier in Aug production than us! Glad to have you aboard! :D

Sportty, just think Mike and I will be patiently waiting as you do until the mid-Sept to see the cars, you may feel better. :) Because both of ours will need to be shipped from Ohio to here, though ours may landed on the US soil earlier, it still have a road trip to go. :)

speed_racer,

Yeah, I am admittedly a bit worried about getting lost in the shuffle, which would be horrible. So we'll see. :)

fs-mini,

Yeah, I emailed Julie this morning to ask her given the new information when she thinks we might get our cars on a truck to CA. Hope it won't be much of a delay after they FINALLY receive my car! :)

By the way for you west-coasters that aren't already aware, this thread http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66190 has more info on the new carrier to the west coast. Hope it helps some. From what I can gather, BMW uses WW for east coast ports, and now for west coast they do go by NYK. Like I said, there's more info in the other thread, including correspondence with the actual shipping companies. Good luck! :D

I wonder how we can determine the callsign for the Patriot? There are about a million ships called "Patriot" when I search at sailwx.info... This is probably doable but I haven't figured out how. Just thought it would be nice to know where the ship is now, etc. :)

Coast Guard (http://cgmix.uscg.mil/psix/psix2/)

Call sign for the Jingu Maru = JPPT

For 'Patriot', only 3 listed are frieght vessels:
C6RQ7 = Panama Reg.
WQVY = USA Reg
9HFX7 = Malta Reg.

If you can locate any of these call signs on the Ocean Weather site it could rule out or prove to be the one :)

I suspect it's the WQVY. I noticed that one was reporting location data as of a few weeks ago.
