Ok, lets just say you have £3,500.00 sitting around somewhere, you are a MINI fan – (imagine that :p ) and you’d like to upgrade your Cooper S.

Do you go with a JCW Kit, now, or when the upgrade comes, or think of spending the money on something like things for your home, a couple of flat screen TVs, a nice holiday, treats for wifey or such like.

Or maybe a Hartge / BBR / GGR conversion, and some of the above?

Help, I need to decide soon ! :D

I’m torn between tuning the MINI, and the subsequent pleasure I get from driving it, and spending some of my hard-earned cash on treating my wife, and getting something which we would both derive equal amounts of enjoyment from?

She doesn’t mind if I do it, and she gets to drive the MINI all week, but shes not into the benefits of 200bhp if you know what I mean?

Thoughts everyone?

I voted JCW, but we all know I'm elitist and have more money than sense :rolleyes: ;) :D :p

Its a tough one Aiden, but if i went for goodies for my home and on a holiday i would still want the Works package.

is that officially confirmed or just the usual banter that flys around?

the option of a nice holiday for the ball 'n' chain now and a upgrade in a few months once youve topped up the JCW money again is exactly my plan :cool:

I'd personally go for a cheaper conversion like the 217bhp West Tuning conversion then with the money left over you can treat the missus ;)

hmm, tricky decision - first thoughts are :-

treat the wife - always a good idea to keep her sweet :D
few toys for the house - incase the weathers too grim to risk the mini
save up cash again & get the new JCW kit when it comes out.

Everyones happy & you don't get any of the 'you love the mini more than me' comments for a bit :p :rolleyes:

Aiden -- From someone who doesn't know you at all :D

GO FOR THE JCW You'll love it -- Its a blast and of course its the real deal, not just a modified Mini :D (sits waiting for the flaming to begin) :)

I wouldn't be too sure about that! My wife is no petrolhead or "girl racer" but over the last few months she has commented a few times how much she enjoys having the performance in the Works to leave tailgating cars for dust once she leaves the confines of the 30mph villages around MK. I think (in the UK at least) some drivers see a woman driving a "cute" MINI and assume they are going to have to force it out the way. In that situation I don't know many people that wouldn't welcome the speed and the handling of a JCW. ;)

That said I voted for a cheaper conversion and some of the above. :)

But if you go for the flat screen TV's get plasma not LCD. We just got a 26" JVC "top rated" LCD and it's nowhere near as good as the 2 year old Panasonic plasma we have in the lounge. :rolleyes:

And at 22kg it ain't that light either :(

West tuning 217bhp (for £1500)

£1000 to spend on new tyres for the year after buying West tuning 217BHP conversion

£1000 for the wifey here -> http://www.tiffany.com/

Trust me on the last one, it got me millions of brownie points (nothing quite like the little turquoise box ;) ).

*Grings snaps out of girly mood* :D

West tuning 214bhp (for £1500)

£1000 to spend on new tyres for the year after buying West tuning 214BHP conversion

£1000 for the wifey here -> http://www.tiffany.com/

Trust me on the last one, it got me millions of brownie points (nothing quite like the little turquoise box ;) ).

*Grings snaps out of girly mood* :D

Problem is, I'd have to drive to the UK for most of the cheaper conversions - on saying that, I'll be over for the Cotswolds anyway........;)

Tiffanys would work alright I'd say........:D
