: My MINI is here! WxSquid Jul 7th, 2004, 11:00 PM Howdy Everyone!
Well, I just had to get one last MINI fix. I noticed that CF MINI had sold their last IB MCS, I asked who to - it was to my MA! :)
So I asked if my number changed from 112. Nope. :( Well, how much would it cost to move up the list?
They said I had the second 05 on order. But,,,,,
They had a BRG/W MCS that was almost the same (no leather, no anthracite, no cold pkg, and no chrono). The savings will let me add the aero kit, driving lights, and stripes to the car. :D :D :D :D
OH YEAH!!!! He hit port this afternoon, and it should be ready when I come back from this at-sea period.... are thunderstorms fun or what??? :D :D :D
<==== doing happy dance in the rain! BartMack Jul 7th, 2004, 11:23 PM good for you Mr. Jump-to-the-front-of-the-line -! :D
So is it an 04? A BRG/W with Aero kit will be almost as hot as a HB/B w/ aero kit - (but not quite :) :D )
Congratulations!! :D :D MiniVerde Jul 8th, 2004, 02:29 AM Yahoo! Another BRG/W owner! :) Congrats! Can't wait to buy YOU a Starbucks to celebrate! Mojodiva Jul 8th, 2004, 03:56 AM That's wonderful!!!!
And geez, stop ordering us all this rain! Then again..it does rmove all teh dirt off Elvis's boot! AprilWhine Jul 8th, 2004, 08:54 AM Thanks for the thunderstorm Doug, it gave me a chance to exercise my generator. :D
Great news about your MCS! Now you can do Cooper Vineyards with us! S2000&CooperS Jul 8th, 2004, 07:19 PM I could have used a generator last night. I think I got 1 hour's sleep with the oppressive heat and humidity caused by the storm knocking out my power. :o WxSquid Jul 8th, 2004, 08:09 PM You know Bart, if you don't want to wait 2 weeks, there is a BRG one (instead of HB) just waiting for an owner...
.... and if anyone needs/wants a set of R85 silver s-lites.... mine are for sale as I'm getting the R90's. BartMack Jul 8th, 2004, 08:11 PM ;) HB for me Mojodiva Jul 8th, 2004, 10:20 PM Does the power go out in Virginia as often as it has been in my area around little Creek? The power has been out several times in the past couple months. We feel like we are in Guam still! We will most likely be purchasing a generator if it keeps up.
Our power was out four only 4 hours or so this last time. AprilWhine Jul 8th, 2004, 10:57 PM We don't lose power that often here, but enough that Fuzzy and I bought a serious generator. After hurricane Isabel last year, we were without power for 11 days. obehave Jul 9th, 2004, 02:04 AM My workshed got hit by lightning. This in turn took out my AC compressor, TV, phone and the NIC in my computer. Luckily I can do wireless as well.
Have I missed details about a Zaino party? AprilWhine Jul 9th, 2004, 09:45 AM I think the Zaino party is still in the planning stages. Mike, what do you think of an early August date? It really depends on the neighborhood. When I lived on the oceanfront my power went out all the time. Now I live in a newer area of VB where all the utilities are underground- I didn't even lose power during hurricane Isabell! I just stayed inside in the air conditioning and watched TV :p :D WxSquid Jul 9th, 2004, 07:55 PM Okay all, sorry about the rain - hopefully nobody got hit by flying trees or cows!
Here's an addition to the car... JCW! :D :D :D They should be able to get it to me by the 20th, so that's worth it.
Now if I can just get the ship to pull in sooner... BartMack Jul 9th, 2004, 08:05 PM you're doing JCW right off the bat !?! ...............   Mojodiva Jul 9th, 2004, 10:18 PM Bart- thanks for the info on VB... I will let hubby know and now we can consider getting generator. Its really not an issue in the winter for us, but in the summer..YIKES.
And Bart, I really, really want to see your HB baby when it arrives. WxSquid Jul 10th, 2004, 01:28 AM Yep Bart, right off the bat! :D I figured if I had to break him in early, I might as well do it once. Then, I'll have it paid off when I come back from cruise. October has already volunteered to look out for him once I'm gone... :) Said something about 20,000 miles in 6 months! 8) BartMack Jul 12th, 2004, 12:45 PM :) WxSquid Jul 16th, 2004, 07:54 PM Whelp, as I'm approaching the pier, I know that when I get off the ship I'm heading to the dealer to get my Mini. :D Whoo Hoo!! Now, will I have to wait a week to get it, or can I drive it until August and then add my mods (JCW Aero Kit Driv Lts)
I'll try to get before and after pics posted ASAP! WxSquid Jul 17th, 2004, 12:15 AM Okay, I have to wait a week. :( I couldn't even test drive my own car as they hadn't even prepped it for legal driving. They did say that they would have the JCW conversion done tomorrow. Everything but the Aero Kit and Driving lights tomorrow. Those by the end of next week. I should be good to go for the Vineyard drive. Worst case, I don't get to make it 'cuz I'm getting my MCS. :D AprilWhine Jul 17th, 2004, 02:05 AM Great new Doug! I think the Cooper Vineyards will be a wonderful first run. :) WxSquid Jul 22nd, 2004, 12:55 AM Eleanor's not fully dressed (will have to wait until the week of the 1st to add the Aero Kit, Bonnet Stripes, and JCW door sills), but I put 50 miles on her tonight, with more to come! S2000&CooperS Jul 22nd, 2004, 12:44 PM Sweet ride!!! :D :D I have the JCW door sills in my car if you want to see them on Saturday. BooperCooperS Jul 22nd, 2004, 02:45 PM She is lovely! Congrats! :D :D :D
Booper MiniVerde Jul 22nd, 2004, 11:54 PM What a lovely shade of British Racing Green Eleanor is! Congratulations on her home coming! Can't wait for Verde to meet Eleanor!
:) WxSquid Jul 23rd, 2004, 12:50 AM Well, in 24 hours I have put 250 miles on her. :D :D
Today's motoring tip - (not the way I actually drove, as US60 is worse than the interstate in NN)
Take 64 to the Penisula, then up to Williamsburg. Take 64 West to the Croaker Rd exit (I think this is Rte 607).
Take 607 across the interstate and south to Rte 5.
Take Rte 5 all the way to Rte 156. Turn Left.
Take bridge across the James river to Rte. 10. Turn left.
Take to Smithfield/Suffolk. This should get you to the backside north of Suffolk. From there, follow the super go-fast signs to the nieghborhood you want to go to. :)
This is mainly along the James River. I found this route in my Focus during the weekend of the 4th. I was able to take the corners about 15-20 mph faster in Eleanor than the Ford, and didn't really even push the car.
Oh, and God how I love the instant power of the Works! :D :D :D MiniVerde Jul 23rd, 2004, 02:06 AM We hit 10,000 miles last Friday. Already up to 10,300 today. I'm over due for my oil change by 200 miles - and will be even more so by the time the Vineyard run is wrapped up. Guess it's time to call our Mini friend down at CF Service. ScottyB Jul 25th, 2004, 03:20 AM Car looks superb WxSquid :D :D
Congrats :) Mojodiva Jul 25th, 2004, 06:08 AM She's gorgeous! :)
Will be keeping an eye out for you now that I'm back! AprilWhine Jul 26th, 2004, 12:13 PM Beautiful! | |
