ButtonIt Jul 13th, 2004, 07:34 AM Sorry to hear that dude :( Hearing things like this really f**ks me off   We work hard for our possesions, but some lazy toad to f**king lazy or stupid to be able to buy their own, thinks they have the right to just take whatever they want :mad::mad::mad: beej Jul 13th, 2004, 07:36 AM chunky :( dinger Jul 13th, 2004, 07:38 AM Thats Bad news :( and I hope they catch him or her,but chances are they wont.

Never give up and Never surrender.! paa Jul 13th, 2004, 07:43 AM I know it feels personal mate, but it's not, to not have anything just so someone doesn't nick or damage it is not the way round these :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad: just let them drown in their little cess pools. Keevan Jul 13th, 2004, 07:44 AM goddammit.. i hate these people.. and i must say that i am very happy that i don't live in a major city anymore..
in 10 years of living in brussels i had 6 times a wndow smashed in ... 6 times they didn't take anything.. but tried anyway..
luckily they were all company cars ( VW's and a smart)
my baby is in my little town garage and is safe.. :D I love MINI, Laura Jul 13th, 2004, 07:46 AM How awful. I always thought our radios looked almost fortress like with our big pillars in the way obviously this isn't gonna stop thieving little S**TS!! Barnabas Jul 13th, 2004, 07:48 AM I feel for ya, I had that happen to me twice within a 3 yr span, both on New Years! lol. But yeah it's definitely one of the worst feelings out there. Police here don't care that much about car thefts since there's so many and wish I could hand out some personal vendetta myself. Billy Smart Jul 13th, 2004, 09:11 AM I once caught someone breaking into my car, i got hold of the scum and slapped it a couple of times, Police came and took me away..................what..
i was charged with GBH and given a £200 fine (compensation to him, for breaking into my car),
he walked away with a slapped wrist, as i told our quality police force, if it happens again and i catch the scum i will do it again..no problem mdsbrain Jul 13th, 2004, 10:58 AM Dang man, I hope you can get things fixed using insurance money and not your own. steebo777 Jul 13th, 2004, 01:43 PM That is awful. I hope you find the a**hole that did it and beat the s**t out of him. Speedd Jul 13th, 2004, 02:23 PM :(
feel for you mate but there are too many :bad::bad::bad::bad:'s who are inconsiderate to other peoples property and IS IT NOT enough that we pay for these idiots in Tax's that they still want more from our hard earned belongings .. ahhhhhhh
The police really need to sort out their act out as things in London and cities are just getting worse.
Hope you get it all sorted soon and keep us posted scooterboy Jul 13th, 2004, 03:05 PM I feel for you - :( - but what are "dead locks"? lillapoyka Jul 13th, 2004, 03:07 PM my opinion is we should be able to booby trap our cars so when some schmuck does try to break in... WHAM... fire shoots out and burns them, acid in their eyes. a spear shoots them. Smiley Culture Jul 13th, 2004, 05:32 PM Chunky, i really feel for you mate. I currently drive a banger but awaiting my new pride & joy in September. Makes me wonder how long my mini's gonna last before some crackhead comes along and sees his next fix on wheels !
Heads up mate.. minibat Jul 13th, 2004, 05:50 PM Sorry to hear about that. I had my car broken into back in '92 and $2600 worth of stereo equipment gone, in one night. That was the biggest one, but I have had other stereo equipment 'disappear' a few other times. Once right at the dealership while in for repairs. If I ever catch someone, they'll wish they had chosen a different profession.
Motor on Rich_IX Jul 13th, 2004, 06:02 PM Woops sorry to hear it there is a far bit of sub-human scum out there :( marrsbar Jul 13th, 2004, 06:47 PM I once caught someone breaking into my car, i got hold of the scum and slapped it a couple of times, Police came and took me away..................what..

That, my friend, is a foo kin joke. Those pigs are obviously total toss pots. Countrygent Jul 13th, 2004, 07:22 PM Here in Vancouver, mild weather, Pacific port, large Hells Angels and Asian Heroin Gang town we have hundreds of miserable drug addicts - crack, heroin, crystal meth - some hundreds of whom break into houses and cars as their daily job. The police do nothing unless they catch them red-handed, and then the Courts give them a slap on the wrist - these characters have dozens of minor theft convictions and of course although the Courts don't accept any evidence except what they have been convicted of .... they are only caught and convicted for one in every few hundred thefts they commit. The insurance business, bodyshops, glass repair, home alarm and car alarm industries have all built up an institutional mechanism to deal with it as an insoluable problem, all profiting ....
... so they generally use a centerpunch to smash your window, grab sunglasses, CD's, change - they take maybe $10 or $20 - cost you $200 comprehensive deductible, the insurance company another $300 for the total repair cost .... or if the car is on order by the biker gangs for some Far Eastern client - they take the whole car ... or to a chop shop for spare parts.
Meanwhile all the fenced goods, cars, boosted stereos, etc., are packed into freight containers for sale in Vietnam, Indonesia, and other sketchy foreign parts.
The whole thing is sickening and one good fascist government could put a stop to it in two weeks flat. Drug addits should be collected up and removed to incarceration until they can be cured .... drug dealers should be hung.
I used to be a liberal but now I'm just a :bad::bad::bad::bad:ed off middle aged taxpaying victim.
Keep smiling. It's still a wonderful world. spur Jul 13th, 2004, 08:25 PM          WHEN are we going to be able to fight back and give these LOW LIFE SCUM the treatment they DESERVE? Our country is to full of, tree hugging/car hating/they only do it cos there desperate/low life loving, rich people who make the rules but live in their ivory towers, MILES AWAY from the "normal people" who have to live with this. People save for years for a nice car, then these SCUM (if ever caught.) get a slap on the wrist. Is it any wonder SO MANY people talk about LEAVING this country. I.M.H.O. hurt the :bad::bad::bad::bad::bad::bad::bad:s  (Then when you come out of prison, hurt them again.) NO MORE slap on the wrist. :o Damo Jul 13th, 2004, 11:32 PM I believe every car loving person should move to South Africa where they allow anti car jacking devices such as flame throwers etc Or is that just another Urban Myth?
Edit:
Apparently not:

I feel for you. The exact same thing happened to me............while my car was at my dealers  zgokart Jul 14th, 2004, 05:58 PM Sorry about your misfortune. I would recommend getting a car cover, one of those with a steel cable that goes under the car and locks on the other side. A little bit of a discouragement, perhaps, to would-be thieves and vandals. J1JPE Jul 14th, 2004, 07:57 PM GUTTED for you - my now ex g/f's car got vandalised when we were visiting east central London
u cud go be a magistrate and dish out some xtra harsh sentences ?? Willy Jul 14th, 2004, 09:14 PM So Liberal Americans...you want our country to be more like Europe?
After reading the previous posts, I say horay for the death penalty, gun ownership by law abiding citizens, "3 strikes and your out" laws, tough drug laws, more prisons and other items that are tough on criminals, yet Liberal Americans hate! chunky Jul 14th, 2004, 11:08 PM well they say bad things happen in 3's, and i believe. after the torment of having the car broken into  , on the way to getting a new glass some idiot bumped my car while i was stationary in traffic  . he was a metre in front and just rolled back.he was on his mobile. i just could not believe it  . luckily no damage but a small scuff. then when the engineer was fitting the new glass. he realised the cable had slipped of the pulley and could not repair it  . he said i was better of buying a new mechanism cause it is near impossible to fix:mad: . i just laughed like a mad man and started rocking :D . what else could go wrong? :( well i wasnt gonna let this get the better of me and spent a good few hours taking the mechanism out and tackle the problem.after a few head scratches and flesh wounds i managed to fix it :) saved myself some cash and gained some knowledge of the car :) .bonus. now the only problem is that its just hard to sleep not knowing weather the scumbags are gonna come back. watch this space.
just like to say thanks to all for the kind words. as long as there is good people there is hope. peace :) pubert Jul 15th, 2004, 08:28 AM Really sorry to hear your bad news chunky,
This country has gone right down the sh*thole, while ever these people know they can get away with wrecking other peoples lives and property and only get a slapped wrist they're going continue doing it. The whole fecking system stinks.
pubert SoggyCornFlakes Jul 15th, 2004, 10:01 AM sorry to hear this - but don't sell up, the thieving buggers will go for any car if they think they can get in | |
