Well, there were tons of new Minis in the parking lot to drool over Sunday but unfortunately there was only one in the show and none on Saturday. So the entire weekend was primarily classics.

The Saturday Mini gathering at Miniguy’s in Ventura ( www.miniguy.com ) was an absolute blast! Four of us met in Long Beach for a small caravan up the coast to Ventura. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of other Mini owners that were already there cashing in on some excellent swapmeet deals. Here is a link to the early Saturday festivities.

After watching Graham from Heritage Garage ( www.heritagegarage.com ) give an excellent seminar of SU Carbs and Mini Maintenance as we chowed down on the biggest hamburgers in the world, we took a fairly large caravan of Minis through the local hills and into the town of Ojai, where we got a private tour of the most amazing British bike and car collection I have ever seen.

Sunday was the British Car Show sponsored by Central Coast British Car Club (CCBCC) and the Minis had an excellent showing. I believe there were 28 or so. Our small group of friends did pretty well and I got an “honorable mention” / fourth place for the Mini class, which made me feel pretty damn good.
